Let It Go Friday

happy fridayHappy Friday y’all! I hope you had an amazing week and you are feeling the best you possibly can. Now that the weekend is here, do you have any plans? I have said this before, a weekend not full of plans is relaxing and therefore how I prefer to spend my weekends. I am still in the process of finding a new job, but honestly I am enjoying the down time that is allowing me to focus on things I am extremely passionate about. I do want to get back into a daily routine because I do like that type habit. I just need to make sure the next place I end up working isn’t going to openly discriminate against my medical condition that I have no control over.

I think y’all already know this about me, but I love finding great quotes to share. I tend to ddfa7d40c7410deaec903ab6569a5c61find quotes uplifting and I see so much meaning in all the ones I share with y’all. I think the one I am sharing with y’all today is short, but pretty powerful and hopefully it will serve you well. Friday is a great day to let go of anything negative that happened during the week because we do not need any negativity weighing on our hearts, souls, and minds. I remember there always being numerous things that would have me feeling uptight and or disturbed, but at the end of the day most of those things weren’t worth my precious time. I hope there wasn’t anything that occurred during the week that was unpleasant for you, but if there was, I hope you will be able to let it go and find peace. Y’all deserve nothing but the absolute best in life!

welcome fridayThank y’all for stopping by my site today. I hope you have a lovely day and it is followed by an incredible weekend! I can’t believe it is almost March, because the first two months went by so fast! I hope that does not mean the year will fly by as fast, but we will see. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort, and many positive vibes!

Anger is an awful feeling

Anger-Umbrella-Listening-for-Feelings-e1356246263507-2328x1164In my opinion, anger is one of the worst emotions to experience. Anger is an intense emotional state that involves a strong uncomfortable and hostile response to a perceived provocation, hurt, or threat. Despite what some people may think, no one is perfect. We all have certain triggers that create massive amounts of anger within us, some more than others of course. Regardless of the intensity, the trigger may be, anger is a very unpleasant and useless emotion. Allowing anger to control our lives, instead of us dominating the feelings of anger is not healthy.

There are things we can do to help us gain some control of the situation and attempt to anger+6rectify the problem. Instead of throwing a toddler-like temper tantrum, which seldom gets any positive results, venting about your feelings could eliminate some of the harsh emotions before they get out of hand.

There are many anger management tips you might benefit from during a time you are feeling an intense amount of anger.

  1. Concentrate and focus on taking deep breaths. Slowly inhale and count to 4, then slowly exhale while counting to 8. Continue this exercise 4-5 more times, inhale slowly count to 4 the exhale slowly count to 8. This gets our mind off the reasons you were angry and combats your body’s tension, which will help you calm down.
  2. Acknowledge your anger as a short-lived emotion. Even though while in the moment it seems like the feeling will not ever end, try to remind yourself that it will end in a matter of time.TCA-2
  3. Get yourself out of the situation you are in. A slight change in scenery and walking away from the person causing your anger will allow you to clear your mind and calm down.
  4. Express yourself in any way you can! Allowing feelings to be bottled up is not healthy and could cause more problems in the long run. You can call a friend, partner, family member or anyone else you feel comfortable confiding in. Talking about problems is the best way to put things in perspective and help you figure out what you are truly angry about in the first place.
  5. Music can have a powerful effect on the mind and soul. You may have a few songs that never fail to calm you down when your emotions are on high alert and even make you smile again. I have several songs that can always make me happy and actually relaxed. Do you have any songs or bands that help your mind calm down?
  6. Dance around the room to a song that you can draw energy from. Not everyone is a good dance, but you do not have to be. It is just moving around and staying active that can release negative energy caused by anger. If you absolutely hate the idea of dancing around the room, it is okay any exercise can alleviate feelings of anger.
  7. Focus your mind on counting backward from 100. This very simple task can keep your mind occupied for 2 minutes or so. Just think, by silently counting for a couple of minutes, you can enjoy some peace and quiet!
  8. Close your eyes for a moment and imagine your happy place. No matter where your happy place is, having that image in your mind can calm you down drastically! My anger-management-strategies-4178870-478b9bc1a2b648a7b4bcbe7934591cf5happy place is the beach, so whenever I am feeling angry or frustrated, I picture myself at the beach listening to the sounds of the waves crashing down and the smell of saltwater in the air. Sometimes, it almost feels like I am there in the present.
  9. Consider your language and understand that some words that flood your mind are not at all helpful. Terms like always and never can be defeated words that will not allow for positive outcomes. When we are angry we tend to think nothing will ever go our way and life isn’t going to get better. We might be having a day when our pain is higher and we say to ourselves the pain is never going away and it will always be here. I have had those days and thoughts, but that did not help me feel better. Subconsciously, thoughts like these we are convincing ourselves the situation is worse than it really is.

Anger can produce various emotions and can potentially cause us to act in irrational imagesways. In the heat of the moment, it seems like an easier and better idea to act without logic; however when we act in an unreasonable manner it only creates more issues for the long-term.

While we are dealing with angry feelings there are some we should try out best to avoid. One of the worst ways we can respond to feelings of angry is by saying and doing nothing. If we try avoiding those feelings they will only continue to grow stronger because they are left to simmer in our minds. Some people think that going for a drive to clear your mind and calm their emotions is a good thing. No matter how great a driver you might be, driving angry can reduce your concentration, making getting behind the wheel hazardous. It surprises me that some 1people have the ability to go to sleep angry. It is very common that the person going to sleep angry will not get good quality sleep and therefore will be sleep deprived the following day. Sleep deprivation is only going to add to the feelings of anger and frustration. Another awful thing to do when angry is to keep the argument going. Nothing good will come from this situation and there comes a point when a break is needed to calm down! Adding alcohol to a situation with anger involved will only add fuel to the already heated fire! Basically, it is best to avoid alcohol until the situation has been handled and a resolution has been found. It is best to NEVER make any huge decisions while emotions are on high alert. Sometimes we need to place things on hold and make any decision when things are back on track because somethings will be hard if not impossible to correct.images

Thank y’all for visiting my site today. I hope the information in this post was helpful and would love to hear from you. How do you handle feelings when you are angry? I absolutely hate confrontation, so when I get upset enough to deal with this problem it is huge. I follow the rule of choose your battles! I tend to find most things people like to argue about not worth the time or stress. When something is important enough for me to engage in an argument, it just got to the point the situation needed to be handled. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort, and many positive vibes!

Pick-Me-Up-Thursday

you-say-thursday-i-say-friday-eve-have-a-tayzerific-10147394-e1554939166168Happy Friday eve y’all! I hope you had a wonderful week and you are feeling well. How was your week? Are you looking forward to the weekend?

I had some issues early in the week with my doctor’s office and the medication I take for MS. Thankfully, after way too many phone calls, emails, and massive frustration and stress, everything has been taken care of and I will be receiving my medication today! The reason for my stress and fear was because once you miss 14 days of the medication, you have to start over again and not having insurance I wasn’t sure how that would work. My guess is somehow the powers that be with corrupt health insurance I would be out of luck!

Of course, I love the quote I found to share with y’all today, but I look forward to reading imageswhat you think. I do hope this quote will serve as a great pick-me-up to help get you through one more day until the weekend! Sometimes it might seem like we can’t reach our dreams, but I believe where there is a will, there is a way and we will all reach our dreams someday! It is even more frustrating when we have to wait, but I think it is true that all good things come to those that wait! Just out of curiosity, what is one dream you have had for years now?

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you have an amazing day and your weekend is filled with happiness and comfort! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort, and many positive vibes!

Anxiety Disorders are REAL!

REAL-18-percent-anxiety-1-e1470236666901Anxiety is a very real issue that affects 40 million people in the United States. Anxiety disorders are the most common and prevalent mental disorders in the United States. Of course, some people experience anxiety for reasons that are not at all life-threatening, but others do feel like they are in danger. When a person faces something that is potentially harmful or other worry triggers, the feeling of anxiety is not just normal but needed for survival. When there is an incoming danger, alarms are set off in our body, which may include an elevated heartbeat, sweating, and increased sensitivity to surroundings.

Anxiety is a body’s natural response to stress and a feeling of fear or uneasiness aboutAnxiety-Blob-anxiety-disorder-is-real-Nanea-Hoffman-Sweatpants-Coffee-940x450 what is to come next. Anxiety disorders are characterized by a variety of symptoms. The most common symptoms are excessive and intrusive worrying that disrupts daily functions. Other signs include agitation, restlessness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, irritability, tense muscles, and trouble sleeping.

There are six types of anxiety disorders I am going to explain. The first is Generalized dsm-5-criteria-for-generalized-anxiety-disorder-1393147_v2-902be69757414cc7a517ef3ca9838b59Anxiety Disorder (GAD). With this type of anxiety disorder, a person will feel anxious on most days and worry about numerous things. They will also overly worry about money, health, work, and other random issues. This affects 6.8 million adults in the United States, which is about 3.1% of the population. Of those that have been diagnosed with GAD, only 43.2% received treatment. Women are twice as likely to develop this disorder as men are.

When doctors diagnose a person with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, the person must have experienced excessive worry and anxiety about several different events or activities for more days than not and for at least six months. The person will also express they have a difficult time controlling their worry.social-anxiety-disorder-symptoms-and-diagnosis-4157219-5c5db04146e0fb000127c7e9

Social Anxiety (SAD) is a very common anxiety disorder that affects 15 million adults in the United States, which is about 6.8% of the population. This is when everyday social interactions cause a person an irrational fear, self-consciousness, and embarrassment. A person may have trouble in common situations, for instance, talking to a stranger, making eye contact, using public restrooms, and eating in front of people.

images (2)Specific Phobias affect 19 million adults, being 8.7% of the population in the United States. Women tend to be twice as likely to develop this disorder as men. The average onset for this condition is around 7 years old. This type of anxiety disorder amounts to an unreasonable or irrational fear related to exposure to a specific object or situation.  A person will avoid contact with a specific object due to their fear of such an object.

Panic Disorder is a type of disorder that causes panicPanic-Disorder-Symptoms attacks. A panic attack is a sudden feeling of terror, even when there is no danger around them. This affects 6 million adults in the United States, which is about 2.7% of the population. This does tend to be inflicted on women twice as much as men.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a disorder that causes excessive thoughts that lead to repetitive behaviors. There are 2.2 million, being 1.0% of the population of adults in the United States that are OCD. A person that lives with this disorder gets caught up in a cycle OCD-cycleof unwanted obsessions, instructive thoughts, images, or urges that trigger intensely distressing feelings. For example, when a person that is OCD is leaving their house, they need to turn the lights on and off a certain number of times or check the door is locked a specific number of times before they feel comfortable leaving the house.

Post-Traumatic- Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a disorder in which a person has a hard time recovering after experiencing or witnessing imagea terrifying event. This disorder plagues 7.7 million adults, being 3.5% of the population in the United States. This does occur in women more than men, but it does happen to both. Rape triggers PTSD in 65% of men and 49.5% of women. It is believed a person that experienced childhood sexual abuse, will develop PTSD in their lifetime.

manage-your-anxiety-2584184-01-07daf91ba6de41d19f827cf65ceef07aTreatment consists of a combination of psychotherapy, behavior therapy, and medications. Some people can avoid therapy sessions to treat their anxiety disorder by doing things at home; after all, going into a clinician’s office can be stressful alone and causes unnecessary stress to a person already dealing with stress and anxiety. If a person decides they prefer to try self-treatment at home, they will need to understand this type of treatment helps those cope with mild and more focused shorter-term anxiety disorders.

There are five self-treatment options that are available. One is stress management Stress Management mind mapwhich will include learning how to manage stress to limit those potential triggers. You can organize upcoming events and deadlines in order and compile lists with daunting tasks in order to make them easier to manage. It is always important to commit to taking time off from work and or school.

Another self-treatment plan is to practice relaxation techniques. Straight-forward activities have the potential to calm our mental and physical anxiety signals. Other options, are to meditate (which I am awful at), deep breathing exercises, long hot baths, resting in a dark room, and yoga.

breathing-for-relaxation-4-7-8.jpg?w=1000Another self-treatment option is practice replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts. Start off by making a shortlist of five negative thoughts that are running through your mind. Next, write another list, next to your first list, with positive thoughts to replace those negative thoughts with. When we have a mental image of successfully facing our negative thoughts or conquering a specific fear, this can provide benefits if the anxiety symptoms are related.

You can also utilize a support network by talking with a friend or family member whosupport is supportive. There are probably local support groups near where you live, but there are also plenty of online support groups. If you want to find local support groups, I am more than happy to help you find as many as I can, just let me know!

This is the last self-treatment plan I can share with y’all. Establish an exercise regimen; physical exertion can improve the self-doubts you might have and release chemicals in the brain that trigger positive feelings.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I believe there are many people that shy away from talking about any kind of mental illnesses because others shame them. I feel we should text-art-believe-in-your-dreams-follow-your-heart-melanie-violaall feel free and comfortable to talk to others about what we are dealing with and we should never be judged. We are all human-beings with a strong beating heart and we have feelings. I will be completely honest with y’all, I have not been formally diagnosed with anything, but I feel stress and anxiety most of the time and I can not turn it off. I do not know how to not worry because I have done it for 38 years and like that old saying, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”  I would love to read your thoughts on this information because I know y’all are amazing with brilliant thoughts. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort, and many positive vibes!

Own your personality!

16-personality-types-infographicWe all have our own personality, which is the combination of characteristics or qualities that form who we are. Our personality makes us unique and different from others, which I think is great. For instance, I do not think disliking confrontation because most things we will argue about do not matter in the big picture. As you read through this, were you able to determine what your personality was?

Motivational Monday

01Welcome back Monday. I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend and you are ready to start the week off on a good note! It is gloomy where I live today and looks like the sky is about ready to open a storm. Thankfully, I do not have to go anywhere today and can just stay comfortable at home, which is great because my pain is always a lot more intense on rainy days.

There are a few ideas I have for posts and should have most of them done by Wednesday or Thursday, which I hope you will enjoy. Of course, I have been a little stressed because I currently do not have a job or unnamed (4)insurance, but the stress isn’t helping. My saving grace has been good music and writing more than normal. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with another one of my unwelcome headaches since Friday evening, which did cause me to slow down with completing my profile for Upwork. Besides another nasty headache, I am the reason my profile isn’t doe. I am a little too hard on myself and never think what I write is good enough.

ourcharacterisnot-minI find the quote I am sharing with y’all today very motivating and I do hope you will as well. We all have good days and bad days, but the most important thing is to keep trying. While we should appreciate our good days as much as we can! We must remember the bad days we make it through are the ones that make us stronger and I guess should appreciate them as well. I feel like even though we have never met face to face, I know how strong of a person each of you are.

I hope y’all have a wonderful start to your week and it only continues to improve. I do know it isn’t easy, but try your best to not let anything or anyone bring you down because you are better than that! There is no situation or individual that should be allowed to dull your light!821553772-877f65dcf9eeb694e27705a83304259d

Thank y’all so much for visiting my site today. I always appreciate your continued support and love the comments you leave. I promise, I will do the best I can to respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, compassion, and many positive vibes!

Doctors gone BAD

maxresdefaultI recently had to deal with my specialist’s office, in regards to the medication I take to limit the progression of my Multiple Sclerosis. Since the doctor that diagnosed my condition retired, the office he was at has been on a downward spiral. The amount of incompetence and lack of compassion are the only things that are steadily increasing, which is terrible.

Whether it be a nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician, they all should know how awful stress is for someone with Multiple Sclerosis. Being forced to battle with a nurse with a terrible attitude 71NwQ3YsJDLto get a refill for my medication caused me nothing but massive stress and frustration. This would have been  difficult regardless, but when the nurse decided to be ugly the situation escalated unnecessarily. All I am trying to do is anything necessary so I do not have a nasty relapse, especially without insurance.

I know I mentioned in a post I did a few days ago, the flaws within healthcare in the United States, but with what I just experienced trying to talk to my doctor’s office makes it even more frustrating! For a country that has insanely high costs for health insurance, you would think patient care would be top-notch, but it is the direct opposite.

downloadThe medication I take to slow my progression down is Gilenya. I have been on this same medication for a long time, so I know the processes and the ridiculous out of pocket with NO insurance. Honestly, I do not believe any normal person could afford this medication and I definitely can’t.

Basically, I guess I am not in the right tax bracket to be able to have insurance that I can afford or at least affordable medication to keep my condition at bay. Maybe I also missed the tax bracket where kindness, respect, understanding, and empathy exist. I feel strongly that health insurance should be a RIGHT, NOT a PRIVILEGE, but surprise the powers that be don’t agree with me. I do not think anyone should have to worry about how they are going to survive without 21a1d2783f3596243d4cd630893e7e7dinsurance and without access to life-altering medication.

First, thank you for taking the time to read this post. Second, I hope none of you ever have to go through anything like this. Third, I hope your weekend has started off great and continues to bring you happiness. I do want to encourage you to leave a comment; I definitely need advice on how to deal with the ignorant people at my specialist’s office. Lord knows I can’t take too much more, especially if it is just images (2)going to be a bunch of bull shit!

I hope you enjoy every moment of your weekend and hope you feel great! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort, and many positive vibes!

Let It Go Friday!

happiness fridayHappy Friday y’all! I hope you had a wonderful week and your weekend is spectacular because you deserve nothing but the best! Of course, being a stress case is something I am really good at, but I have been enjoying the extra time I have had on my hands to write more. Between writing daily, with music in my ears, I have had the time to think clearly. I have considered what it is I want out of life and what makes me happy, but also what I do not want any part of.

Sometimes taking a step back from everything in life to clear your mind, offers clarity to where we want life to be. Always having a full-time job, really stalled my dreams. I never had the time to take that large step into what I want out of life. Over the past few weeks I kept telling myself no 600x600bfmatter what BS reason I was given or even what I think the reason is for losing my job was, it was bigger than both of those things. The reason may have been the kick in the butt I needed to stop talking about it and just dive into trying to build my freelance career. I must admit it seems a little (OK A LOT) overwhelming because I can’t just focus on one piece at a time. I keep looking at everything I need to do all at once and then get stuck on one thing. Right now I am stuck on finishing my overview and struggle with what to write so potential clients will see my skills. If y’all have any suggestions or advice, please let me know!

The quote I decided to share with y’all for “Let It Go Friday”, pretty much goes along images (1)with the first part of this post. I do think it takes courage to continue on, especially when you feel like the rug was pulled out from under you. Sometimes we will succeed in life and  sometimes we will fail, but no matter how many times we fall, we always find a way to get back up, dust ourselves off, and continue on! Sometimes being stubborn pays off and will help get us where we desire in life!

Thank you so much for stopping by my site today! I always appreciate your text-art-believe-in-your-dreams-follow-your-heart-melanie-violakindness, support, friendship, and encouragement! What do you think?

imagesEven though things are slowly getting a little better, I am still feeling way too much anxiety and stress. I am glad that my unemployment was approved because that helps with the financial stresses, but not having insurance when dealing with Multiple Sclerosis is making me feel a little crazy. I do think this would make anyone feel like they were jumping out of their skin, which is the way I feel right now.

My husband keeps telling me that I need to relax and everything is going to be okay. I am a very optimistic person normally, but I do not see life the way he does right now. Medications are stupidly expensive and so are doctor’s anxietyappointments. One of the medications I take daily that is supposed to slow the MS down is Gilenya. Y’all will be surprised how much this one medication would cost me each month without insurance. For simply a month supply it would cost me $7,500. Seriously, who can afford that?

Something that I find frustrating is, health care in the United States costs a lot of money and then there are still additional fees that need to be paid. The United States is the ONLY developed country that does not offer FREE health care, which I find crazy! Of course, I have never lived in a country where health care was free, but from my perspective, it can’t be any worse that what we have now. Sure, you might have to wait longer to see a specialist, but for me to get into the neurologist in the states I wait at least 2 months. free-and-universal-health-care-universal-health-care-free-but-65307278With all the costs between the price of insurance, the costs for appointments, the price of tests that need to be run, and then medications, people could just about go bankrupt. Our brilliant politicians try their best to convince the American people why we do not have free health care and that it would be an awful thing! The sad thing is, some believe everything they hear on the news and all the lies that come out of the politician’s mouths! I strongly believe that health care should be a RIGHT, not a PRIVILEGE. No one should ever have to choose between food and their health!

I know some of you reading this post live in a country with free health care, so want to get your input! What are the pros and cons of having free health care? Do you fe62d503ebdec18d58277ced8257e5e9_survey-citizens-for-plainfield-township-trails_631-313like having free health care or would you rather have it like the United States does? On average how long do you have to wait to see a doctor? Are the physicians intelligent and knowledgeable?

I hope your day is going well and you are feeling the best you can. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I am looking forward to reading your comment! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort, and many positive vibes!

Pick~Me~Up~Thursday

images (1)Happy Friday Eve y’all! How was your week? I hope you had a fabulous week and you are ready to enjoy the upcoming weekend! My week did start off sad with my aunt passing away, but now she doesn’t have to live in pain anymore. Thankfully, her passing was peaceful and she had family around her for comfort. I guess in the last moments of life it is best to be in the comfort of your own home with family near, instead of in an uncomfortable hospital setting.

I did finally receive good news regarding my unemployment status yesterday. I could have already 2042c37730f6bfb6bbd9a7c4adcbea75told y’all that my termination was done illegally and I did absolutely nothing to deserve it. I am relieved to say that the state did agree with me and my employment was approved, which will help the struggles I was dealing with. The past 3 weeks have been a mixture of MASSIVE stress and also believing that everything happens for a reason and it was time to follow my dreams. Now that I am not in complete and total panic, my stress level will go down drastically. Of course I am going to continue looking for another job, but more important I can focus on diving into the freelance world.  Y’all already know how passionate I am about writing and how much I want that to be my career!

music-quotes-music-gives-a-soul-to-the-universe-wings-to-the-mind-flight-to-the-imagination-and-life-to-everything-plato-wisdom-quotesWe have almost made it through another week and although my stress level will be coming down, I think it would have been a lot worse if I had not kept music in my ears. Of course, I love the quote I am sharing with y’all today, but I am going to love reading your thoughts on it as well. For the past few weeks, while I was insanely stressed and frustrated, I reduced some stress by writing more and always had music playing in my ears. I do think that there are some songs that are great to soothe the soul and then others that can take you somewhere else completely!

I want to thank y’all for visiting my site today. I always appreciate you taking time to read what I share and enjoy reading your fabulous comments. c41b1c4f51883bfb4d67649ca5fa3228

I hope your Friday eve goes well with as little stress and pain as possible. Remember taking care of yourself is important and if that means taking breaks, take them! Your health is the most important and most other things can wait! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort, and many positive vibes!
