Motivational Monday

Happy Monday y’all! I hope you had a nice and safe weekend! You might be enjoying a long weekend because of Memorial Day and now that the numbers of COVID are decreasing it is nice to be out among others, but I do hope you are still remaining safe. The numbers might be decreasing, but for some reason I am still a little skeptical and feel the need to continue wearing a mask when I leave the house. Not everyone has been vaccinated because of reasons I will never understand, but these are the people that are a hazard or at least they are in my opinion.

I have been trying to do a motivational quote every Monday and today is no different. The quote I am sharing today holds a lot of meaning, especially on Memorial Day. Our servicemen and women are willing to give their lives to keep others safe and that is truly honorable. My late grandfather and my husband’s late grandfather were both members of the military and they were both great men which had undeniable respect! I have spared before how much I idolize my late grandfather and miss him to this day! I do hope you will enjoy the quote I am sharing and look forward to reading your comments!

I hope your week starts well and you are ready for the week ahead of us. It is a short week, which always seems much longer, or at least they do to me. No matter what the week ahead holds for us, I know that we can all handle any and everything that might be. As I already stated, the COVID numbers are decreasing, but please continue to stay safe or at least do your best. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Summer heat & Multiple Sclerosis

It is one of last days of May and the summer heat is already extreme and dominating the south parts of the United States. For those of us living with Multiple Sclerosis, we all know that heat is one of our biggest enemies. Unfortunately, where I live in the United States, we are already fighting with temperatures in the 90’s, so I can only imagine how hot it will be in the dead of summer, but I am dreading it!

There are a lot of people that live with Multiple Sclerosis that experience temporary worsening of symptoms when the weather is exceedingly hot and or humid. Unfortunately, it only takes a quarter to a half-degree increase in the body’s core temperature for someone’s symptoms to worsen. The elevation in temperatures impairs the ability of a demyelinated nerve to conduct electrical impulses. Simple activities such as sunbathing, exercising, or taking a hot bath or shower all can have the same effects. Some have noticed their vision becoming blurred when they get overheated, which is a phenomenon known as Uhthoff’s sign.

Even though the heat can cause symptoms to worsen temporarily, it does not cause additional disease activity. The symptoms that worsen when overheated will improve once you cool down. May years ago, before there was better testing for MS, doctors used the “hot bath test” to diagnose MS. When a doctor suspected a person had MS, they would immerse the individual in a hot tub of water, and the appearance of or worsening of neurologic symptoms confirmed the person had MS.

While temperatures are increasingly warmer, it is crucial for those with MS and experiencing heat sensitivity to do what they can to combat these challenges. The following are the best ways to deal with the heat:

1. During extreme heat and humidity, stay inside in the air conditioning. There are specific times during the day when the heat is more intense, so it may be beneficial to pay close attention to the weather. Normally, the heat is not as bad during the early mornings, but as the day goes on it gets much hotter.

2. Utilize cooling produces, such as cooling vests, wraps, and bandanas. These products can be purchase online and be extremely helpful when you do need to be outside, even for short times. The following are a few vendors that offer these products:

https://glaciertek.com/ phone number is 800-482-0533 Try the PROMO CODE ‘NMSS-15’ for a 15% discount.

You may also be able to contact the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for assistance as well.  https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Resources-Support/Find-Support/Ask-an-MS-Navigator. Or you can call them at 1-800-344-4867.

3. Wearing lightweight, loose, and breathable clothing.

4. Stay hydrated. Drinking cold beverages and eating popsicles can help to keep you cool. Many great products that help to keep beverages cold and buying two of these items can be greatly beneficial because while one is in the freezer, you can be drinking out of the other. I bought two of these items on Amazon so I could keep one in the freeze and drink out of the one that is cold, but there are many others. This is the link for the ones that I have https://www.amazon.com/Swell-10017-B19-36640-Stainless-Bottle-degrade/dp/B07WQFMPF7/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=S%27well+Stainless+Steel+Water+Bottle+-+17+Fl+Oz+-&qid=1622390586&s=home-garden&sr=1-

5. If you exercise, do so either in a cool pool or in a cooler environment.

It has been a little while, but the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is where I was able to get mine from and they are helpful. If all else fails, you can always google these products and I am sure you will find something that will work for you. As you already know, everyone is different and has different challenges with MS, but if you are anything like I am the weather poses awful issues. It does not matter if it is hot or cold temperatures, they both cause me to experience issues. The cold causes me to tense up, which makes my pain much worse. The heat causes me to feel even more fatigue and does affect my vision.

I hope this information will help you while dealing with the extreme heat. I know a few of you might be in a country that is not dealing with the summer months right now, but for those of you that are do everything you can to stay inside or at least in the air conditioning. If I must leave the house now, I try doing so at night after the sun has gone down or in the morning before it gets too hot. Of course, for some doctor’s appointments, I cannot do anything about the times, but I do stay hydrated. I love Fiji water because I think it tastes much better than any other water. I also like Grape or Kiwi Strawberry Propel waters. I honestly cannot remember the last time I drank a caffeinated beverage and feel much better without them! If I drink any soda during the day, it is at night with dinner but only one.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I do look forward to reading any comments or additional advice you might have. I will respond to all comments as quickly as I can. I hope you are having a nice three-day weekend and hope you are staying safe. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Pick Me Up Thursday

Happy Friday Eve y’all! How has your week been? I am pretty excited because I have a long weekend and even get to leave work early tomorrow! Of course, I do not have any fun and exciting plans, but I do not have to wake up early for three days and that alone is exciting! Do you have any plans for the upcoming weekend? The “fun” things I hope to do over the three-day weekend are to clean the entire house, write some posts I have been planning, read more in a book from my favorite author, and catch up on some sleep.

I do not know if it is just me, but the weeks are getting SO much longer. Life so full of stress, chaos, high demands, and so much more that we all need a small little pick me up just to lift our spirits up, even if it is just a little. I hope the quote I am sharing with y’all today will provide you with just enough inspiration, encouragement, and motivation to help make it through one more day of this week! What did you think of the quote I have shared? I would love the chance to read your comments and I will respond to comments as quickly as I can!

Thank you for reading today. I hope you have a great and safe day. I know I have not been as active with my blog as I normally am, but things have been insane lately. Between the two new kittens, our older cat getting sick and having to take him to the ER Vet, and then to his normal doctor, because the ER vet messed up SO BAD, and then there is work and the hot weather we have had lately, I am completely worn out. I am hoping to get things going regularly soon! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Motivational Monday

Hello & happy Monday y’all! How was your weekend? Were you able to do anything fun and exciting over the weekend? I know how this is going to sound, but it is the truth, I cannot remember the last time I was able to leave and do something fun and exciting without worrying about COVID. It is insane how fast the “new” normal seems perfectly normal, but I guess it is what it is and life must go on!

The funny about Monday is, they are going to come whether we are ready for it. Monday morning is relentless and I guess the only thing we can do is hold on tight and enjoy the ride! It is never easy to be motivated on a Morning, but I hope the quote I am sharing with y’all will not only motivated, but inspired and determined to conquer the day and you week gets better with each day that passes by.

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you liked the quote that I shared and I hope you have a great day! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

End The Hate & Spread Love

I have started this post a few times and was not able to finish it because these issues are horrific and intensely upsetting. In the United States, we are all taught in school that we live in is a free and great country, but as we get older and learn more it is not easy to believe this anymore. I could be wrong and if I am wrong, I will admit it and you will have my sincere apologies.

Over the past few years, there have been so many acts of violence against people of color, and I believe passionately this is wrong. I have always believed that we are all humans beings and color, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual preferences, and anyone else that is being discriminated against should be treated equally and with respect. I have seen that the moment certain people are seen differently, they are automatically viewed as less than and I just do not understand this.

Unfortunately, since January 2020 when we had first learned of minimal information regarding the COVID virus, there has been an undeniable increase in racism that is targeting the Asian-American community. The escalated reports of Asian-Americans being threatened and/or harassed while innocently walking down the street have skyrocketed.

I think it is safe to say that we have all heard of COVID being referred to as the “Chinese Virus”, “King Flu, or “Wu Flu”, which has created vast amounts of animosity around the world. I do not have to mention any names because we all know who came up with these despicable and offensive nicknames. Too many ignorant extremists continue using these names while spreading antisemitic and racist conspiracies. There are many people in the Asian-American community that are senselessly being blamed for COVID and being told to “Go back to China”. Most of these individuals are not even Chinese and/or have been to China.

It is not my intention to make this post political, but this information has nothing to do with how I feel about former President Trump and everything to do with the verbiage he used. We may not always be aware of how the words we use can become a dangerous weapon. Sadly, the hate and racist rhetoric Trump used while speaking during news conferences and on Twitter only made “some” people believe there was nothing wrong with repeating and spreading the hate-filled lies. After all, we have been told to trust what the president says, but let us face it, politicians are not always honest. Even though Trump fueled these views, it is each person’s decision to keep the untruths spreading rampantly.

The Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University discovered disturbing information regarding an increase in hate crimes. During this past challenging year, there have been a staggering number of 3,800 hate-filled incidents against Asian-Americans. These hate crimes against Asian-Americans in 16 of the largest cities in the United States have increased almost 150&, which is grossly devastating.

I do not think I can say how we can help end these hate crimes, but we can try. It is so important to treat everyone with respect and equality. I cannot say that COVID did not originate in China because we all know it did. However, even knowing this fact, none of the Asian-Americans living in the United States are at fault. I honestly do not think anyone living in China is at fault either.

Everyone around the world has been forced to find ways to deal with the COVID challenges and we all need to continue working together so we can live a safe and happy life. There is no need to feel hate and no reason at all to spread hate. Love and kindness might not spread nearly as fast as hate does, but we need to learn how to embrace these emotions and help others feel them as well. No matter who they are and how perfect we think another’s life is, we all have struggles and we all need kindness, compassion, empathy, and support during life.

I know I have not done a post since Monday, but it is because these past few weeks have been difficult. Y’all know we adopted two kittens about a year ago, which has been great. The only bad part is our older cat has keeps getting sick. The vet told me that is normal for kittens to be carriers of infection and with Sundance’s asthma, it might take him a little longer to adjust to this. Last Sunday, I took Sundance to the emergency vet because I was overly concerned. You would think with how much an emergency vet costs they would help him improve. Unfortunately, they made things for our sweet boy much worse, and I took him to his normal vet on Monday. Thankfully, he has gotten much better and is finally eating, taking his medication, and drinking. My husband and I are so happy that Sundance is back to his normal silly self and he is getting along great with his two sisters.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope this post provided you with some helpful information and you can understand the awful struggles in the states right now. I would love the chance to read your thoughts on this post and I will respond as quickly as I possibly can! I hope you are having a great and safe weekend, and you have done those things that make you happiest. Please never forget hat I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday y’all! I hope you had a nice and safe weekend, and you are ready for this new week to start. Unfortunately, whether we are ready or not this week is starting and we have to make the most of it. Truthfully, I am thankful the weekend is over because it was not an easy weekend. Our poor little boy, Sundance, was not feeling well again and I ended up taking him to the emergency vet. The doctor at the emergency vet said his breathing and other vitals were all good, but he does seem to have an irritated stomach. We were sent home with medication and I hope he will start feeling better soon, but I am going to be calling his normal doctor this morning.

Now that we are beginning this week, we need to try doing so with a positive and motivated mindset. My hope is the quote I am sharing with y’all today will provide this to you and help your week begin the best way you possibly can! I would love the chance to read your comments about this quote and I will respond as quickly as I possibly can! I like this quote for many reasons, but one reason is we should all understand the only thing we can change is the ways we react and deal with situations, and we cannot change how others do the same. Once we change things inside us, everything around us will change in a positive way!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed this quote and it offered you the motivation needed to begin this new week. I hope you have a great day and your week only improves with each day that goes on. I also wanted to say that I will be working on a post this week for a Blogger Recognition Award given by Caz at https://mentalhealth360.uk/. I do promise to do this during this week, Caz, and thank you again for this, you are a pretty amazing person and I am thankful to call you a friend! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Let It Go Friday

FINALLY, HAPPY FRIDAY Y’ALL

How has your week been? My week has felt all over the place from work changes and craziness to going back to the dentist. My appointment with the dentist yesterday was just cleaning, x-rays, and coming up with a treatment plan for all the issues with my teeth. With the combination of my insane and irrational fear of the dentist and all the medications I have had to be on due to the MS, there is some work to be done. Thankfully, the dentist is a very nice lady and her assistant is also very nice and they took their time going through things with me and explained things as needed.

Honestly, the changes and craziness with work are good. I have always been able to get along with most everyone else, but I am not my team lead’s biggest fan (I am not a fan at all). She is one person that I will try to avoid as much as I can because she is very unpleasant and creates a little too much frustration making me feel like I do not know what I am doing. Obviously, if I have a question about something, it is because I have not seen the issue before, not because I am not good at my job.

The large one is Willow and the little one is Luna
Our 11 year old boy, Sundance

Very soon, I am going to be taking our two new kittens to the vet. All three of our cats have adjusted very well to one another and there has never been any fighting. I will say that our boy cat is about 11 years old and the most passive, good-natured, and loving little boy ever. The only issue with his passive nature is, the two girls will walk all over him and he lets them. I give the three of them their special Fancy Feast treats twice a day and if he walks away from the treat, one of the girls will start on his treat (mostly the little girl). The smaller of the two girls is absolutely fearless and very feisty, but the poor girl has breath that will clear a room out, which is why I want to take her to the doctor. The larger one of our girl kittens is about 11 months old and the smaller girl is about 7 months old, but the way they play with each other is hilarious! Poor boy cat runs away from both of them and he is not a small cat.

Now that we have finally made it through this week and the weekend will be here shortly, I think today is the perfect day to let go of any negative feeling the week brought on. The weekends are so short and we should be able to enjoy them the best we possibly can! Do you have any plans for the weekend? I know you will not be surprised, but I do not have any plans besides ordering groceries, cleaning house, hopefully writing some, and making progress with the book I started. I did want to share a quote with y’all that I hope will help you let go of any negative and unpleasant feelings to help you enjoy your weekend a little easier.

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you enjoyed this post and I am looking forward to reading your comments, which I promise to respond to as quickly as I can. I hope whatever y’all have planned for the weekend, you will continue to stay as safe as you can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Ways to Spread Positivity

Happy Friday eve y’all! Life has been incredibly challenging throughout the world for several years, but at the worst during the past year or so. It is not only due to dealing with COVID difficulties, but we are also seeing a massive increase in violence and racism, at least this has been a tragic issue in the United States. Most of the issues do not even begin to make sense to me because I still believe that COVD should not have reached the level of anguish it has. As for the violence and racism taking place in the states, it is 2021 and it is well past the time for people to grow with the times and end the unnecessary hatred-fueled circumstances.

We all know people who shine with positivity and we enjoy being around these people, while also find these individuals captivating. Many find a peaceful outlook to be effortless, while others may take a little extra practice to see things in a positive light. The energy we portray not only determines our interactions with others but also speaks volumes about how we feel about ourselves.

Developing a positive mindset is a skill that is well worth the practice it requires. As you begin to shift the way you are thinking, you will start to see amazing new opportunities come your way. You may start feeling better about yourself and the world we are living in, no matter how difficult things may get.

A few ways to have positive energy from the inside out are the following:

1. Make yourself be a priority:

This does not mean you are neglecting others that are in your life, but when we feel good about ourselves, it is much easier to display inner contentment to the world. Looking after your needs and developing a habit to do simple self-care things that make you feel good can make an enormous difference in how you carry yourself.

2. Understand the difference between a FACT and a THOUGHT:

The truth is, we are all human and tend to have less than flattering thoughts regarding ourselves at times. It is important to understand and separate facts from thoughts. An example of a fact is, I had a less than easy conversation or difference of opinion with a friend the other day. The thought might be that this friend thinks differently OR negatively of me now. When we focus on what the facts are, it will help to keep things in perspective and avoid expressing all those negative thoughts that can feel suffocating.

3. Learn ways to be kind to yourself:

We all have days when we feel down and that is okay because it will pass. When we do feel down, we need to learn to recognize and honor our thoughts. Being kind to ourselves can be as simple as repeating one of your favorite quotes that make you feel good and happy. Or, it could be to make an honest effort to treat ourselves with the same compassion we would treat someone we care about.

4. Use positive words more often:

The way we communicate with others has a direct impact on the energy we display. Using words such as love, willing to, solutions, absolutely, great, excellent, interesting, enjoy, etc. will produce a much more optimistic outlook!

5. Smile more frequently:

A smile is an exceedingly small action, but it can make a HUGE difference. Of course, it is not an issue if a smile is not authentic and sincere initially, but you will start to feel happier and friendly shortly and possibly appear more outgoing to others, which allures the positive energy you desire.

6. Work to achieve a goal or goals:

When we work towards accomplishing a goal or more than one goal, if you are feeling extra determined, it can serve as a confidence boost! The people that are around us will be encouraged by our strength and the belief we have in ourselves to achieve our dreams and goals.

7. Offer compliments to others:

When we show appreciation to others it can serve multiple purposes. One purpose is making that person feel good about themselves. The second purpose is this will make us feel good as well, which we are all deserving of those good vibes. Acknowledging when someone does something we admire can be an immediate boost to what we are feeling.

8. Starting living in the moment:

Try doing simple things such as putting your phone away when having lunch or dinner with another person. OR turn the TV off while cleaning the house. Shockingly enough, these distractions prevent us from living in the moment and enjoying the everyday task in life.

9. Practice good posture:

Our posture is a non-verbal way to show how we feel about ourselves. Standing up or sitting straight, shows we are both confident and approachable, which will be a good feeling.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and it helped you some to help spread positivity. Of course, it is not easy with all we are dealing with now, but we can work together and let our light shine onto those around us. A little positivity can go a long way!

Thank you for visiting my site today and I do look forward to reading your comments. I do promise to respond to all your comments as quickly as I can, but it might be after my not-so fun dentist appointment this afternoon. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday y’all! I hope y’all had a great and safe weekend! How ready are you for this new week to begin? It definitely seems the weekends are feeling a lot shorter and the weeks are getting longer. I guess as we age this is just normal, but not always pleasant. Would it not be amazing if our weekends could be longer and the workweek just be a lot shorter?

As we start this new week and say goodbye to the weekend, I think we could all use a little motivation to help us start on the right foot. I do hope you will find the quote I am sharing with y’all today motivating and encouraging. I am not a fan of fighting and would be the first to walk away before anything escalated, but many tat make a living in this manner. The person that said the quote I am sharing with y’all today is not just a fighter but has a journey she shared. There are some things about Rose’s past that really hits home to me and I can relate to. I would love to read what you think about this quote and promise to respond as quickly as I can!

I know I have not been doing my typical posts lately, but it was in part due to my not-so-fun dental issues. Y’all already know that I do have a major fear of the dentist and even though I can admit to it being irrational, it is a very real fear to me. I have another appointment this week with my new dentist and I had a good first experience with her when I met her. I know I have a lot of work that needs to be done, but I am going to take this in stride and try to not overly stress myself out. We will see how things go though, but I will keep y’all updated!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed the quote I shared and if you have any interest in Rose’s life, I do encourage you to Google her. She has been through so much in life but has grown, overcome her struggles, and became a true inspiration to many. I hope you have a wonderful day and your week continues to improve with each day. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Reasons Spending Time Alone Is Good For Us!

Whether you are an extrovert or an introvert, spending time alone can be beneficial to everyone. Of course, not everyone enjoys time alone because it might cause some to feel lonely, but in time the benefits will outweigh the negative. I am without a doubt an extrovert and do enjoy spending time around people and learning from what our differences might be. However, I also do enjoy spending time by myself. It is also true that surrounding ourselves with those that lift our spirits is helpful and often crucial, there are also several benefits to alone time. The following are just a few reasons solo time can be advantageous and valuable.

1. Time alone allows us to recharge. Trying to balance our daily obligations, family, and friends can be extremely challenging and energy draining. Allowing ourselves time to give ourselves our full attention to doing what we love and enjoy can be particularly useful. Taking time to recharge will not only help us, but it can benefit those around us as well because we will feel energized and happier.

2. Our lives can get chaotic because of our busy schedules. Spending time alone can provide us with time to contemplate what is going on currently, what has already happened, and even what may happen in upcoming events. Taking some time to take a break may help with social situations, where we are at in life, and the necessary time to reflect and grow as a person!

3. Spending time alone creates more independence. This is a start to relying on ourselves and trusting our abilities. Learning our abilities will provide us with a stronger sense of independence, which is a great feeling and an amazing accomplishment in life!

4. Trusting your thoughts and ideas will become easier. After you can find your independence, it is necessary to make decisions for yourself, instead of requiring others’ input and advice. It can be a little terrifying at certain times, but trusting your instincts and intuition is beneficial. Once you feel comfortable with your opinions and thoughts, it can help illuminate and clarify who you are and who you want to be in this life.

5. We have all heard that old saying “Too many cooks in the kitchen”, well the same logic applies in all aspects of life. Spending time alone can provide you with more productivity. Being alone, with only your thoughts allows you to create your ideas and execute them the way you want to without the input from anyone else. Alone time helps you develop and understand your strength and what you have to offer this world.

6. After having a little solo time, we can feel a deeper appreciation for others once spending time with friends, family, and even co-workers again. This can provide a strong impact on our emotions and be more energized and attentive when we spend time with others.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed this post and it provided you with some valuable information for your life. I hope you are having a great and safe weekend and doing what it is you enjoy the most. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
