Living life with a chronic illness is definitely not easy. But I do my best to push through all the barriers this illness puts in front of me! In my heart and mind, I believe maintaining a positive outlook on all situations in life will carry us through to much better times! I hope you find the information that I provide both helpful and inspirational!
We have made it to the middle of the week, so we are that much closer to the weekend! Like every other week, this has been another long week and I said I would work overtime, again. That means working 10 hour days, but I am not working on Saturday! I figured after working three 10 hour days, I will not have the energy to work any on Saturday. I also have to give our poor cat her liquid medication again this week and she hates it, which means she will fight me tooth and nail to avoid it. If this medication was not “supposed” to be helping her, I would feel really bad for tormenting her, but hopefully this will prevent us from having to make the decision to have all her teeth pulled. Poor little girl has chronic gingivitis.
As we have survived the first part of the week and have a few days left until the weekend, I think we could all use some inspiration! I hope you will find inspiration and encouragement in the quote I have shared. There is nothing wrong with feeling angry, frustrated, and or discouraged during some times in our life, we are only human. It is just as important to keep going and never direct these emotions it at those not responsible for the challenging times. Yes, it can be easy to take our frustrations out on whoever is closest to us, but we need to try to control that because most of the time the person we take it out on, has nothing to do with why we are frustrated and or angry.
I hope your week is going well and you are staying as stress-free as you can. I am good at giving advice about stress, but terrible at taking my own advice. I manage to stress about everything and it takes a tole on my health. I know it is not good to stress and I am trying, but I continue to fail. It has been a little better this week, but I do still stress about things, especially work. Most of the things we find ourselves becoming stressed about are not going to change no matter how much we stress about it, so why bother with it, right?
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared and the quote offered you the inspiration needed to get through the rest of this week. No matter what we go through in life, we need to always stay true to who we are and stand up for what you believe in. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
Monday is over and behind us now, which is always a good thing. How is your week going so far? Yesterday was not as bad as last Monday, but that does not mean I am not glad it is over. Mondays are always so chaotic and people seem much more demanding. I am starting to think the only people in this world are rude, demanding, and overly pushy because everyone wants their needs met immediately. I do not understand why people do not possess patience or understanding, but those qualities are missing in the world, or at least with those that I come in contact with.
During our weeks we need to find more tranquility. We all go through different challenges and it can be hard to overcome certain issues. Unfortunately, we all face situations daily that can make our internal light dull or be blown out completely. To keep our light burning bright, we need to be brave and courageous enough to never give up and always keep pushing forward. I hope you found some kind of peace in this quote and it carries you through your day!
I have said this before, but do you not think the world would be a much happier place if we could all love the way animals do? We have three amazing cats and they all love unconditionally. It does not matter how awful my day was, the three of them can make anything better. They are always happy to see me, even when it has been less than an hour I saw them last. They will meet and great me at the door when I am done with work for the day and they act like they have not seen a human in a decade. Animals do not judge and normally do not hold a grudge, at least not for long😊!
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared and the quote gave you a sense of peace. I do look forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I possibly can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
Hello Monday! Our weekends go by so fast and the week returns. It seems like Friday was just minutes ago and now we are back to the beginning of the week again. It does not matter if we are ready, the new week is here. I hope your weekend was spent doing what brings you joy and you were able to relax and rest. I know I needed more than two days to recuperate from last week because last week was pretty awful. No matter how last week went down for us, let’s hope this new week is much better!
I think it is important to begin the week with a positive and fresh state of mind. We cannot go back in time and change anything that occurred last week, but we can learn from any mistakes that were made. Honestly, I learned a lot from last week and there are mistakes I will NEVER make again. I hope what I am sharing with y’all today provides you with motivation and courage to take on this week with determination!
Is there anything you are looking forward to this week? Our weeks are supposed to offer us a new beginning and opportunities, so I hope this week offers you that and more. It is only Monday and I am already looking forward to Friday, but I am sure as the week progresses I will have a better outlook. I am having a hard time letting go of some negative things from last week, but I am trying!
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope your week begins well and gets better with each day that passes. I hope you have enjoyed what I have shared with you today and I look forward to reading your comments. I will respond to all comments as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort. support, and MANY positive vibes!
Row vs. Wade is an extremely controversial topic that everyone has an opinion about. This was a landmark decision of the United States Supreme Court which ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restrictions. Some might view this topic differently due to their beliefs, but this has absolutely nothing to do with anyone’s feelings regarding abortion and everything to do with freedom. A person’s moral and religious beliefs are well within their right, but their views should not impact a woman’s decision with her own body.
There have been many people voicing their thoughts about how vaccines and or masks mandates take away their freedom but is a government deciding what a woman can and cannot do with her body is not also taking away people’s freedom as well? The United States is “supposed” to stand for the freedom of each citizen. A woman deciding to get an abortion does not harm anyone but might be what is best for the unborn child and her own life. People arguing that vaccines and mask mandates take away their freedom is completely different because people not getting a vaccine or wearing a mask can and have killed millions of people.
Norma McCorvey, aka Jane Roe, was a single mother of two living in Texas. In 1963, when she was just 16, she met and married the man who was the father of her child. She was young and unable to care for her child, so after she divorced her husband she surrender custody of the child to her mother. In 1967, Miss McCorvey became pregnant for the 2nd time and immediately gave the child up for adoption. Two years later, she was pregnant for the 3rd time and wanted to have an abortion which in Texas was only offered if the mother’s life would be endangered if carried the child to full-term.
Regardless of, the mistakes made she fought for her right to decide what she did with her body. With the assistance of lawyers, she made a difference for other women to be able to choose an abortion if that is what they felt was best for themselves and the unborn child.
According to Politico, in January 1973, the Supreme Court issued a 7-2 decision ruling that the due process clause of the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution provided a “right to privacy” which also protects a pregnant woman’s right to have an abortion. It was also ruled that this right is not absolute and must be balanced against the government’s interest in protecting women’s health and prenatal lift. The court resolved this balancing test by tying state regulation of abortion to the three trimesters of pregnancy. This was set up as the following in the first trimester, governments could not prevent abortions. During the 2nd trimester, governments could require reasonable health regulations, Finally, during the 3rd trimester, abortions could be prevented entirely as long as the law contained exceptions for cases when they were necessary to save the life and health of the mother.
In 2022, the US Supreme Court overturning a law protecting abortion rights, a law that was put in place in 1973 is appalling. It has been almost 50 years and during a time period when people should be evolving, we seem to be doing the opposite. The government telling a woman what she can do concerning her body is wrong. What if a woman is raped, should she be forced to carry that child full-term? If a child is raped, why should that child be told, that she cannot have an abortion and she must keep her rapist’s child?
Why are the same people that are against abortion, the same people that are against anything that could provide children with the means for a good and fulfilling life? Things such as free healthcare, free education, and affordable housing are banished from existence. The issues that cause harm such as the guns that kill people daily are perfectly acceptable. The people in the United States who are hell-bent on keeping their freedom to carry guns, vote, and live their lives like they see fit are also the same people that want to take a woman’s right to have an abortion and gay rights away. Why is that?
We are supposed to be living in a free country that is not dictated by government, religion, or anything else, but it appears that many are trying to change that. As long as we are not hurting anyone else, there should not be any problems. Those that carry guns into a supermarket and open fire, killing anyone they see is not the way we should be living. A woman knowing, she cannot care for the child and provide that child with a safe and loving life is well within her right to not be forced to keep the child. Children are the future and should not be brought into a home that is unsafe because they cannot be cared for or if they are brought into the world by rape or incest.
I am aware that there are going to be many people that disagree with what I have shared in this post, but I do ask you to be respectful of what I feel. I am a firm believer in the freedom of all and do not think that anyone should be forced to do anything they are not comfortable with and want to happen. The United States is supposed to be a free country and not a dictatorship, so long as what we are doing does not cause anyone else harm. A woman deciding to have an abortion is not causing harm to anyone, not even the unborn child.
Thank you for visiting my site today. I was withholding writing about this because I know how delicate this topic is and how many people feel differently, but I could not keep my feelings in and wanted to share this. I typically apologize for offending people, but this issue should be decided by only one person and that is the mother because she is the one whose body it affects. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
The truth is, we all have bad days that can turn into a bad week. Unfortunately, last week was one of the worst weeks I have had in a long time. I was thankful for the week to end, but I am still struggling to forget and let go of all that happened. It is not easy to let go of things, even after you take full responsibility for your actions. Guilt and frustration can be consuming and almost make you feel like you are drowning.
After my fall on Tuesday evening, the week seemed to spiral out of control into nothing positive. The fall was terrifying and I should have done things differently than I did. I knew I was having dizzy spells and should have gone to bed instead of trying to do anything else. I know from past experiences what can happen if I continue to push myself when I feel dizzy and yet, I did not do what would have been logical. I have lived with Multiple Sclerosis and the issues that come along with it for over 20 years, so I know better than to keep pushing when things such as dizziness arise.
Another issue I should have recognized is that I was not allowing myself to get enough sleep. When we are sleep-deprived, things never go well. Our behaviors and way of thinking are compromised, which causes other awful things to occur. I had been pushing myself so much with my new job and allowing myself to be drained by stress and for what? I know that I am still new with this job and learning more daily, so allowing myself to be swallowed up with stress only creates more issues and my health to deteriorate.
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you are enjoying your weekend, relaxing, and doing what brings you joy. I am using this weekend as a time-out to recuperate and refocus because I know that is what I need. Life is too short to spend it stressed, especially because of a job. I am looking forward to reading your comments and will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
For many years dizzy spells have been a common challenge I face. I have been able to find ways to shorten the duration of these spells, such as sitting down immediately or focusing on a still object, which works about 75% of the time. Unfortunately, on Tuesday evening nothing was helping and when I “attempted” to sit down on the floor, I somehow ended up hitting my head, arms, and legs on a hard object.
I am not 100% sure what happened because I was in a daze, scared, and extremely confused. If I had to guess, I would say my head hit the corner edge of the nightstand and while trying to catch myself and prevent the fall, my arm was collateral damage and hit the nightstand as well. It is obvious my head hit something rather forcefully because I have a bruise and swelling on my forehead. Also, my bottom lip is swollen with a nasty laceration. I do have sore areas on my scalp, which made washing my hair very painful.
I had to work the day after this exciting event and was unable to focus. There was not one part of my body that did not hurt. It is not easy working when in the amount of pain, I was in, but I am new with the company and refused to call out sick. I mean, I work from home, so I do not have to go anywhere or see anyone, so why call out? The entire day, I had two speeds, slow and stop, which ended up being stop for much of the day! YES, this made for an extremely LONG day!
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope your week is going well and you are taking care of yourself. Never forget, YOU are important, and you cannot take care of others if you neglect your health. Yes, this is something I am awful with. I look forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I can! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
Instead of thinking of today as simply Wednesday, let us think of it as the halfway point to the weekend. I guess thinking of it as another day of the week makes it feel like the week is not almost over because thankfully, the week is almost over. We are so much closer to the weekend than we were yesterday, right? I have honestly been ready for the weekend since Monday morning, which says a lot about how my weeks have been! I think sometimes we all just need a break from reality and life but rarely get it. Most of the time, weekends are the closest we get to get a break.
Somehow, we have made it through half of the week and only have a few days left. Even with that said, I think we all could benefit from a little inspiration. I hope the quote I am sharing today will offer you inspiration, comfort, and a positive outlook on life! We are only given one life to live, so no matter what happens we need to make the most of it. Even though we all encounter struggles, we are also provided with many memorable and joyful times. During our hard times, we need to hold on to the joys and live every day to the fullest.
I hope your week has been wonderful and you are not being held down by the stresses life can bring on us. We have all heard this before, but stress is a silent killer. Many of the things we find stressful and not worth our time and nothing would change no matter what we did. There are things we have control over, but the truth is, we only have control over what we do. We cannot control how others are going to behave and must avoid the extra negativity.
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared and I look forward to reading your comments. I will respond to all comments as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
Tuesday is an indicator we made it through one of the hardest days of the week, Monday. Yesterday was a challenging and frustrating day for me for a few reasons. Work is getting busier, and people are getting more demanding. There are a few people I work with that are helpful and I can communicate with, knowing they respect me because they never talk down to me. Another person I have a lot of respect for the way she views things, however, she does not always respect me when speaking to me I guess everyone handles stress and busy days differently. Regardless of, how people chose to talk to others, I am trying to not let things upset me because, at the end of the day, it is not worth it.
Another reason yesterday became challenging is because the MS hug is back. It has been happening on and off, but when it is in full force, it is awful. The MS hug is the kind of hug no one wants. I am sure it feels different to everyone, but for me it hurts and takes my breath away, making it hard to breathe at times. I have no plans on letting my specialist know because I do not like their ways of healing it. I hate steroids more than most anything else. Steroids make me miserable and cause my personality to be altered and not for the better.
On a positive note, on June 10th, one month from today, I get to meet my literary role model. I think of James Patterson as an icon with his writing. I view him as one of the best and most memorable authors of our time. His books are creative, engrossing, and captivating. Once I start one of his books, especially in The Women’s Murder Club series, it is nearly impossible to put down. I have thought a lot about what I will say to him during the brief encounter. I have decided to call him Mr. Patterson. He is an elder and deserves the utmost respect. I want to tell him how much I love his writing and how much I respect his abilities, and of course, I would love to know how he does what he does. Unfortunately, I also know my time will be limited.
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope your week is going well so far and that it only gets better as the days pass us by. Thankfully, we have survived one day of the week and have four to go, but I think we can handle it. Yes, each day brings us new demands and it takes determination and a strong will to make it. The truth is, this is never easy, but we are all strong enough to handle anything thrown our way. I look forward to your comments and will respond to them as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
Today we welcome Monday’s return and find the strength to tackle another week. As always the weekend went by in the blink of an eye and we are left with the short-lived memories, which I hope were wonderful and joyful. We need to view the week as a week filled with many amazing opportunities because that is what all weeks should provide. Sometimes, we need to create and go after the opportunities because they are not always clear.
Staying motivated on a Monday can be challenging, but we are all strong enough to do so. While finding the ability to stay motivated, we all need to remain and understand what it means to be humble. I believe the more we can be humble and understanding of others, the more motivated we will feel! I hope the quote I shared today offered you strength, motivation, and encouragement. I understand not looking forward to Monday and another long week of work can be, but the weekend will return soon!
Unfortunately, nothing much has changed with my constant migraines. They never get any easier, but I try to not let them control my life. Yesterday I woke up with a nasty migraine and it never got less intense all day. Of course, my sweet cats tried to help me feel better because that is just what they do. All animals, no matter how needy they are or how aggravating they can be are all just innocent little creatures filled with nothing but love!
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you had a nice weekend and you are prepared for the week ahead of us. It might seem like it is a lot time before the weekend returns, but we need to stay focused and time will pass quickly! I look forward to reading your comments and will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. This was established in 1949 to strengthen an understanding of the importance of mental well-being. It is time to recognize and praise recovery from mental illness for those inflicted with mental illness. Prevention and treatments can work for people. It is an effective way to help people recover from mental disorders and to live a full, and productive life. Unfortunately, in 2022 there is still a negative stigma surrounding mental illness. People are thought to be crazy, incompetent, or dangerous. This is a false understanding of mental illness, which this month is meant to alleviate and correct.
Over the past two decades, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and others within the US Department of Health and Human Services have collaborated to increase the importance of comprehending the prevention and treatment of mental health issues. There have been effective efforts to raise awareness regarding the significance of mental health and encourage acceptance, support, prevention, and recovery from mental health conditions which include but are not limited to the following:
Congress provided substantial behavioral health workforce investments in 2022, which included $225 million for behavioral health professionals and paraprofessional education.
SAMHSA supports the development of a Behavioral Health Workforce tracker, which is a new database of over 1 million behavioral health providers. This tracker offers users a visual of available behavioral health providers by geography, provider type, and Medicaid acceptance status.
It would be false to say that the United States has not failed to correct the misunderstanding of mental illness and help those suffering for the past several decades, but changes are being implemented now. The current administration in the United States remains dedicated to addressing the behavioral health dilemma people have been faced with and strengthening the mental health and well-being of all Americans. It has been acknowledged mental health challenges intensified drastically due to the COVID pandemic, including substance abuse, youth mental health, and suicide.
In March 2022, President Biden signed the Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act into law. This act will invest $135 million over 3 years towards improving mental health in healthcare providers, including suicide prevention efforts.
Our mental health refers to our emotional and social well-being. This can impact the way we think, feel, and behave, which can influence how we connect with others, decisions making, tolerate stress, and numerous other aspects of our daily life. We all focus our attention heavily on our physical health, which is important, but our mental health is just as important and often neglected.
Mental health is crucial for everyone. Taking care of ourselves is vital to prevent mental health from declining. Circumstances such as nutrition and gut health, stress, sleep, relationships, trauma, and much more can produce further poor mental health. While our mental health is strong and healthy, we can practice and learn coping skills to ensure we can handle difficult situations when they occur because we know they can happen at any time.
A mental health condition or mental illness is referring to a set of symptoms recognized by the mental health community. Individuals with a mental illness or condition encounter changes in mood, thinking, and or behavior. This can be extreme and unexpected for some. For others, it can mean they are unable to think clearly and avoid friends, family, and enjoyable activities. Unfortunately, some may hear voices that others cannot hear. For someone to be diagnosed, their changes in thinking and emotions must severely harm their ability to do the things they want to do. It does not matter what kind of mental health condition a person endures because the possibility to recover is possible.
There are many contributing factors to mental health problems. It is extremely likely for many people to have a complex combination of factors. Everyone is different, so some may be much more deeply impacted by certain things than another person would be. The following factors can result in a period of poor mental health:
Child abuse, trauma, or neglect.
Social isolation or loneliness.
Experiencing discrimination and stigma, including racism.
Social disadvantage, poverty, or debt.
Bereavement (loss of someone close to you).
Severe or long-term stress.
Living with a long-term health condition.
Unemployment or loss of a job.
Homelessness or poor housing.
Drug and alcohol abuse.
Domestic violence, bullying, or other abuse in adult life.
Significant trauma as an adult, such as military combat, experiencing a serious incident where you feared for your life, or being a victim of a violent crime.
Various physical causes such as a head injury or neurological conditions.
I plan to do a second post about treatments for mental health conditions because I did not want to make this post too long. One important thing to mention is trying to understand and support those with mental health conditions is going to be much more helpful than judging the person. Everyone around the world, whether they have a mental health condition or not deserves kind treatment and understanding. With the negative stigma people with mental illness face currently, they deserve compassion because we never know what will push them too far.
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope the first part of my Mental Health Awareness post was interesting and provided you with a slightly clearer understanding. Life is hard enough already without judging an innocent person battling with a mental health issue, but we need to try to understand how challenging it must be for them. We might not understand the illness, but chances are it is confusing for them as well. I hope you are enjoying a relaxing and safe weekend! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
