Random acts of violence

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to hear about violence taking place in the United States. Anytime we turn on the TV there is at least one, if not more awful things happening. We are constantly hearing about mass shootings, cops killing unarmed people (most often black men), or other acts of violence where innocent people are dying Some people have become desensitized to the various amount of hate-filled violence that occurs, which these acts cause others vast levels of distress and despair.

When you combine isolation due to COVID and feelings of despair from the violence taking place, the emotional impact can be extremely intense. Of course, working from home is great, but I do feel very isolated and like I am on house arrest a lot. Situations like what happened with George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, and countless others murdered by those that are “supposed” to protect and serve, the police cause me to feel anxious and angry and I am not an angry person. The case against Derek Chauvin, the police officer who murdered George Floyd in Minneapolis had me on edge. When I watched the verdict being read it did give me a glimmer of hope, but there is still a lot that needs to be done.

The recent and senseless mass shootings that have occurred in the United States are heart-wrenching. The one on March 16, in Atlanta GA at 3 spas left 8 people dead, 6 of which were women of Asian descent. It has been stated this murder rampage was due to anti-Asian racism, which does not make any sense to me. These women were innocent and simply doing their job to take care of their families. Atlanta, GA is only about two and a half hours from where I live, but these acts can happen anywhere because the levels of hate and racist behavior are exceedingly high. I do not understand why some many Americans have any issue with people of Asian descent because these people are NOT doing anything wrong or causing any harm to anyone else.

Only six days later, on March 22 in Boulder, CO another gunman went on a shooting rampage at a supermarket. This incident left 10 innocent people who were at a grocery store picking up items needed dead. People that knew this 21-year-old gunman said he was prone to anger problems and his arrest record showed where he assaulted a classmate in 2017. It was obvious this person had issues, so why was something not done to help him?

Less than a month later on April 15 in Indianapolis, IN at a FedEx facility a gunman started shooting people in the parking lot before he continued his shooting spree inside the building. This mass shooting left 8 innocent people dead before the gunman turned the gun onto himself. Not to sound insensitive, but if the end result was taking his own life, why did he not just do that in the beginning and leave the innocent people he killed alive?

There are no motives to make sense of these tragic deaths or to make it easier for the 26 families that lost a loved one. Even though there is not anything we can do for those affected by these events, there are ways we can help ourselves to cope better.

We have all been dealing with the pandemic for over a year now, often fearing for our safety, as well as for those we love because this virus is deadly. Then adding mass amounts of violence can shake communities to their foundations. Whether you live in the United States or another country, how do these situations make you feel? Some of us may feel like we are in danger if we just go to the grocery store or other normal activities outside the home. Other common reactions may include numbness and shock, difficulty making decisions, anger, inability to turn off the images seen on the news, tension, anxiety, loss of appetite, headaches, disturbed sleep and bad dreams, and or worry about future mass violence events.

Just knowing about these traumatic situations can be emotionally draining and cause you to feel unstable with typical life challenges. Issues with work, ongoing issues with the pandemic, financial struggles, or just staying on top of our daily activities can feel overwhelming and stressful. Try being kinder, patient, and more understanding with yourself because you are not alone.

Urgent do not forget to take care of yourself. Everyone reacts to these situations differently. It does not matter if an act of violence occurred where you live or on the other side of the world because our mind and body can react as if it were much closer. The following eight tips are ways we can practice self-care.

1. Safeguard your body’s needs by focusing on eating healthy, get proper amounts of sleep, and spending time outdoors.

2. Stay active in ways you are comfortable with. There is no need to push yourself too far and causing any extra stress on your body.

3. Embrace relaxation exercises such as meditation and relaxing breathing techniques.

4. Maintain a consistent bedtime routine to help you relax at night.

5. Collect information regarding the available mental health services and support.

6. Avoid using alcohol and drugs to help you cope.

7. Take the necessary breaks from watching the news on TV and or social media.

8. Give your attention to things you enjoy such as listening to music, walking, writing, other types of arts and crafts.

I know this post was not very uplifting or positive, but these are real issues the world is facing, and they are upsetting me tremendously. I do not like being negative or angry but wanted to bring these issues to everyone’s attention. This was not to upset anyone or ruin your day, so please forgive me.

I want to thank you for visiting my site today and reading this post. I hope you are having a good week and continuing to stay safe! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Let It Go Friday

~We Finally Made It, Happy Friday ~

I am so glad that we finally made it through this week! I do not know about you, but I think this has been a painfully LONG week! Of course, work has been busy, which I like, but I can use a break from the insanity! I am not sure if it is stress-related or the colder weather, but my pain levels have increased drastically. Yes, I am going to be getting the first COVID vaccine tomorrow morning and if I am being completely honest, I am nervous about it. I am not nervous about getting a shot, however, I am nervous if this vaccine will have a negative interaction with the medication I take for the MS. At least I do not work the weekend and my husband will be sure nothing bad happens to me, and if all else fails the hospital is close to where I am going for the vaccine.

Our work week tends to be stressful and even cause some negative emotions to bubble up. Now that the weekend is so close, it is time to let go of all bad energy and feelings and just enjoy the short weekend. As I get older, I am understanding more and more, we have to do what brings us joy and care much less about what others think of us. As long as we are continuing to be kind, caring, understanding, and fair to others we are doing everything right. I am hoping the quote I am sharing with y’all will help remind you to live your life doing what you love and not trying to impress anyone else!

What do y’all have planned for your weekend? Y’all know I never do anything over the weekend, but you also know I am leaving the house tomorrow! Is it crazy that I am excited to leave the house but nervous about why I am leaving the house? Does anyone reading this post have Multiple Sclerosis, take Gilenya, and have received the COVID vaccine? I know that everyone experiences medication and side effects differently, but it might help relieve my anxiety to hear from someone that can give me a little information about the vaccine.

Thank you for visiting my site today! I really appreciate you continuing to visit and love reading your comments. It might sound silly to some, but I consider all my fellow bloggers friends. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and many positive vibes!

We Are In This Together

~Together We Can Make A Difference~

We have all been going through the same struggles and fears since the beginning of 2020. We have probably all been staying home and avoiding any contact with others outside of our home because of COVID-19. Is it just me or does it feel like we are all on house arrest? I sometimes think that actual house arrest offers more freedom than we have seen over the last several LONG months. Truthfully, it has been a lot more than just several months and more like a year! There is a chance I am wrong, but I think if things were handled differently at the beginning of the pandemic, we would not still be experiencing the hardships and isolation we are today. I am pretty sure I have said this a million times before, but the Trump administration this took place under failed miserably.

I think y’all already know that I work from home as well, so I am literally always at home. I miss the days when my husband and I could go out to dinner or even to the mall to look around. This sounds awful, but I honestly cannot remember the last time we were able to go out for a nice dinner. Not that this was something we did often, but at least we were able to for special occasions. I know my husband loves a good steak every now and then, which I do not care for and I do not know how to even cook steak. Of course, my husband has never been much of a cook, and truthfully I do not think he has ever cook anything. I remember before we started living together, he was trying to make hot dogs and had no clue how to. I thought it was cute and a little silly, so I walked him through how to make a hot dog.

Of all things, I never in a million years thought I would miss going grocery shopping because I always dreaded this task. Since the pandemic began, I have been having groceries delivered. I am thankful for the amazing people that work with this service, but it makes me feel like I am being lazy and useless. This is an awful feeling but considering many people in the city I live in refuse to wear a mask or even social distance, and the fact I have a weak immune system, I cannot take any chances. I do not want to get COVID-19 and risk being hospitalized, and possibly losing my life. I would love to see my late grandfather again, but not right now.

Over the past several months, I have been keeping track of the new COVID cases in the city I live in. To put it mildly, the numbers are terrifying, but the way people behave is insane! I also know there are many people that still think this virus is not that serious or even just a joke. The problem with this way of thinking is, people lie, but numbers do not lie. When we all can see the number of new cases on a steady rise, logically this would show the when the way people are behaving is NOT working you would think it might be better to try something different, right? This would mean, for anyone that is NOT wearing a mask when they leave their homes to start wearing a mask. Or for anyone that is NOT practicing social distancing, to start keeping space between themselves and others. Months ago, the experts advised 6 feet was a good distance to keep, but now they have increased the space to 10 feet. Of course, masks cost money and are difficult to find, but social distancing is free and easy to do. Even before the pandemic, I never appreciated people getting too close to me because I value my personal space!

Anyone that has known me for any length of time, knows that for the most part, I like people. I have always been great at socializing with people of all kinds. I guess the sad truth is, with everything that I have seen on the news and witnessed, I have become overly angry and a little hostile, which are characteristics that I am NOT proud of and are very unlike me. Unfortunately, my patience and tolerance for ignorance have diminished greatly because of COVID, the increased levels of selfishness, heightened number of lies we are being told daily, and then the lack of questioning these people telling the lies, and even worse is the lack of accountability there is in the entire world. When I mess up, I own up to my mistakes and deal with the repercussions of these mistakes because that is what good human beings are supposed to do. I do not think I will ever understand why those that did NOT do what was RIGHT at the beginning of the pandemic are not punished for their wrongdoings, or at least feel awful and apologize for what they did wrong. I already know that some of you might disagree with me, but I strongly believe that the almost 400,000 deaths of American’s are Donald Trump’s fault. The failed leadership, lack of empathy, and sympathy by this person are by far the worst I have ever witnessed. The bottom line is, COVID-19 is not political, it is a matter of life and death!

Of course, next week a new president will be inaugurated into office. Joe Biden was our vice president for 8 years and I hope he will do right by not only the American people but people around the world. Biden is not a perfect man and he will make mistakes, but I cannot imagine he will screw up anywhere near as much as Trump has. I think Biden and Harris have plans to help heal the United States from COVID -19 and hopefully, this means a better plan for delivering the vaccine to all of us who need the vaccine. I do not think that Trump had any plans because he does not care about the lives of people and only cares about his #1, himself. I am not going to say the Biden/Harris team will not screw up more than the Trump/Pence team because I have said something like this before and was VERY wrong! At this point, all we can all do is hope for better, brighter, and safer times in our future because what is life without hope?

I want to thank you for taking the time to read this post and even though you might disagree, I would love to read your comments. I can promise you, even if we disagree on everything or agree, I will respect your views because that is just my nature. I hope you are having a nice and safe weekend! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Saying Goodbye to 2020

Let’s End 2020 & Begin 2021 With Positivity!

It really does seem as if 2020 started off going in the wrong direction, but never managed to change course for the better. To put it mildly, there has been an insane number of life-altering situations that have taken place during 2020 and none that I would want to relive or even wish on my worst enemy. This also goes far deeper than anything affecting me personally because what has gone wrong during this year has tragically impacted millions of people worldwide.

I do not think I had ever looked forward to saying “Goodbye” to any year previously in my life, but I am glad 2020 is now in our rearview mirror. There were so many tragedies that took place and many of which should never have happened in the first place. Everyone faces challenging times during their life, but I think we have all seen far too many during 2020. I would love to be able to say that everyone learns something with each challenge faced, but I think for some people it takes a little more than it does others.

At the end of 2019, I thought that 2020 was going to be a wonderful year. In a strange way, I thought this because 2020 was an even number everything was going to be blissful and full of great times. I have never been more wrong, but I can admit that I was. I know there have been years that were a lot worse, but not during my lifetime. It was probably back during our grandparent’s time when times were a lot more tragic and the past year, we endured would be easy for them to tolerate because the things they saw were something we could not ever handle. I do not think our brains are wired to handle what our grandparents saw.

What were a few things that occurred during 2020 that you wished never happened? What were a few things that happened during 2020 that you were thankful for and learned from? Of course, there are always going to be issues/situations in life we would love to wish away, but unfortunately, this is not always possible. It is crucial we learn from everything we go through and help others to do the same.

Thinking about the past year in a negative manner probably is not healthy and even though it is not easy we do need to try our best to see a light. Yes, there have been almost 350,000 deaths due to COVID in the United States and 1.83 million worldwide. These numbers are astonishing and very terrible. In my opinion, you would think these numbers would force everyone to do what is necessary, and yet there are so many that refuse to. Wearing a mask and social distancing is NOT taking away the freedom that some Americans’ are complaining about, it is for the safety of human lives. Until everyone does what they can to stop the spread, the new cases and deaths are only going to continue to rise.

I am not going to lie to y’all, I hardly ever leave my house these days. Also, I cannot tell you that I do not follow the number of new cases in the city I live in. There have been way too many times the numbers have brought me to tears and watching the people on the news that lost loved ones to COVID always makes me cry. I cannot imagine losing someone that I care about because of this virus because all it takes is following the advice from experts. Y’all know I think that politicians lie and so do your typical everyday people, but numbers and science do not lie. We have all heard since the virus appeared, wear a mask, social distance, wash your hands, stay home, and all the other excellent advice is NOT hard to do!

Another sad part about 2020 is people have shown their true colors and they are NOT pretty. So many people showed that not only are they ignorant to the facts, but they are selfish only caring about what they want and do exactly what they want to despite what is going on in the world. It seems like so many people will not understand how deadly COVID is until they lose someone they care about and this is NOT the way any of us should be behaving. During these devastating times, we MUST join together for the good of human lives. It does not matter what political party you follow, right now it ONLY matters that we do what we can to keep others alive and end the spread of this deadly virus!

I know I am only one person and I cannot do anything alone to do this, so I am asking each of you to do the same! Even if we only save one other person’s life, that is one more family that will not bear the grief of losing someone they care about and then not even be able to have a proper burial because of the virus that took that person.

There might be certain things I have said in this post you agree with and even some things that you will disagree with, but I would love to read what you think. I respect you and what you think, so it is perfectly fine if you disagree with some or all that is in this post. I promise that I will respond to all comments as quickly as I can!

Thank you so very much for visiting my site today. I hope you are enjoying your weekend and you are staying safe! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

A Little Off-Script

I might be a few days late for my normal “Let It Go” Friday quote, but I think I am going to go a little off-script today. There are things we can and should let go of, especially when it is from the craziness of the week, but there are also somethings that are not that easy to just simply “let go” of. The few issues I have tried, but failed to find a way to let go of are the hundreds and thousands of death from COVID-19, discrimination, violence, and hatred, the lies heard from those we “should” be able to trust, and the healthcare or lack thereof in the United States.

I am having a hard time not letting ALL the deaths due to COVID-19 bother me. I guess I can’t understand why we are all still in the same or even the worst situation since we were at the beginning of the year. This isn’t a political thing, this is a life and death situation and having the good common sense to do what is necessary. Wearing a mask isn’t fun and even feels a little suffocating, but it can be life-saving. Or even just social distancing should not be that difficult, but some seem to think it is. It is way past time to follow the advice from the experts. So, please when you leave the safety of your house, wear a mask and social distance!

I will also never understand why there is SO much hatred in this world which is spreading faster than a wildfire. Discrimination is nothing new, as it has been going on for decades now. The color of another person’s skin, who they love, where they are from or anything else should not matter! Forgive me for saying this, but I do think the amount of hatred escalated much more over the past four years. I mean, we have heard the president of the United States call COVID-19 the Chinese virus. We have also heard this same person talk negatively about people from other countries and of other nationalities, which is very wrong, but that is only my opinion.

There has been a widespread amount of violence over the past few years as well and honestly, it goes back even further than this. Again, this only my opinion and it is okay if you disagree with me, but violence does not do anything productive and only creates more problems. I wish that there would come a day where we can all get along and join together for the good of humanity. I guess maybe I am just naïve, but there is no reason why everyone can’t unite and help one another during troubling times.

The United States is one of the richest countries in the world, but yet the healthcare is a complete disgrace. The United States is the only developed country that does not offer the citizens free healthcare and instead allows the insurance companies to charge an insane amount of money, and that money still does not cover the policy holder’s entire amount. For those of us that have several medications we need to take daily, the pharmaceutical companies charge a ridiculous amount for each prescription. If it was not for the Gilenya Go Program, my medication for one month would cost more than my car and I don’t mean just one car payment, I mean the full amount of the car, which I would never be able to afford it. The Gilenya for only one month costs over $8,000, which is ridiculous! Unfortunately, without the Gilenya, I am afraid my condition would deteriorate rapidly.

After reading all of this, can any of you suggest a way to let go of these things?  I have tried, but I am not able to. I am also one of those people, as y’all probably already know, who wears my heart on my sleeve. My heart breaks for what so many people have gone through and I wish there was something I could do to help, but I am only one person.

Thank you for reading this post, which is a little more of a rant of my feelings and nowhere near the positive way I am normally. Change is something that is necessary and I have no idea how to implement the changes that are required.I do hope you had a nice and relaxing weekend! I am looking forward to reading your comments and promise to respond as quickly as I can. Thankfully, my husband and I do not have two- legged children that we have to worry about going to school; our four- legged children never leave the house and are always safe! I am a chronic worrier and I do not think I could handle having any more people to worry about. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

~Inspirational Wednesday~

~Two Days Done, Two To Go~

Happy Wednesday y’all! We have made it halfway through the week, which makes us that much closer to the weekend! How has your week been so far? My week has been slightly less busy than last week, but only slightly! It is nice staying busy, but it is helpful when the people you are working with are kind and respectful. Most of the people I work with are great, so I can’t complain. I do like being busy because it makes the time go by much faster!! This will sound insane, but my work day yesterday was far better because my little friend, the groundhog was around a lot and made me smile!

We have made it through half the week making the weekend that much closer, but we do have two days we must get through and we need some inspiration! My hope is you will find the quote I am sharing with y’all today as inspiring as I did and I look to read your comments! I think it is always important to have goals to work towards because our goals can make us stronger. It doesn’t matter if we do not achieve all our goals quickly or even if we miss a goal, it is just crucial to keep trying!

Unfortunately, new cases of COVID in the city I live in are on a continuous increase. I am not sure what people are not understanding about the need to wear masks and or social distance. This virus is not a joke or a hoax, it is very real and killing people daily. It does not need to be this way and other countries have done the logical thing by locking the country down. The economy does not matter near as much as human lives, so I will say I do wish the United States would lock down until there is a better handle on the virus. I know many people will disagree with me and that is fine because we are all entitled to our own opinion, this is just mine.

Thank you for visiting my site today! I do not mean to sound like a nag with COVID, masks, and social distancing, but I do wish more people would take this virus as the deadly virus it is. Granted, I do not leave my house unless it is necessary. I hope you have a great and safe day today, and I am looking forward to reading your amazing comments. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOT of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Tranquil Tuesday!

We Must Fight Together, Not Against Each Other

Happy Tuesday y’all! I hope you had a lovely and safe long weekend! Surprise, I didn’t do anything but deal with a nasty headache/migraine and it wasn’t any fun! We are starting our new week off on Tuesday this week instead of Monday, which only means it is going to be a crazy Tuesday with a bit of a Monday revelation. Let’s just hope it won’t be too insane!

I did change my Tuesday post a little with thanks to my mother input! I hope you enjoy the new label! It will still have a quote included and a touch the togetherness we all need! I do hope you find the quote I am sharing uplifting and encouraging as we begin this week!

While we are all still dealing with COVID-19, it is still so crucial to stay as safe as we possibly can. I know it isn’t any fun wearing a mask and really feels pretty suffocating, but it is imperative to still do so. Practicing social distancing doesn’t cause us any difficulties, so it is rather easy to do. Washing our hands doesn’t really cause us any challenges and is easy especially when you have great smelling hand soaps! Many of us live an ocean apart and never come into contact with one another, but we are all in this fight together!

Thank you so much for visiting my site today! I hope you enjoyed the quote I have shared and I do really look forward to reading your thoughts on the quote and this post. I hope you stay safe all week and you have a great day. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and many positive vibes!

Inspirational Wednesday!

We are halfway through the week!

Happy hump day y’all! How has your week been so far? I hope it has been good and of course, y’all are staying safe! I have made it through two days of amazing training and I must say, I value the time we are getting because there really is SO much to learn in the mortgage world and it seems to be changing all the time.

With today being our halfway point in the week, many of us are looking forward to Friday. It is a great Friday because it is a holiday weekend, so I will have three days off! Of course, I do not have any plans because I still do not feel that safe with the virus spreading as much as it is. I hope the quote I am sharing with y’all today will provide you with a little inspiration and it will help you through the next couple of days!

First, I want to send a gentle reminder to please do everything you can to keep yourself and your family safe during times of continued concerns for COVID-19. I know I must sound like a broken record because I do say this in every post, but I worry about y’all. This virus is relentless and doesn’t care who you are, you could become a victim of this awful virus. I know wearing a mask when out around others is very uncomfortable and suffocating, but short-term discomfort is worth yours and those you love life.

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you have a great hump day or Wednesday, whichever you prefer! Hopefully your day is full of great things and happiness. I hope the quote I shared with y’all today provided you with a little inspiration and you are feeling great! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and many positive vibes!

Stay Together Tuesday!

One Day Down, We Are In This Together!

Happy Tuesday y’all! How is your week going so far? Honestly, my week is going pretty well so far. There was a new training class for work yesterday and it will carry through until the end of the week, I enjoyed training and learned so much! I am actually looking forward to a few more days of training. I think knowledge is beauty and power!

With everything we are all dealing with around the world and I think it is crucial we all stick together. Unfortunately, we can all understand each other’s concerns with COVID-19 and we can support one another. I wish I knew when this virus would go away and leave us alone, but I do not think anyone has answers for this. Until then, let’s continue to stay together, but yet apart safely! Y’all know I have already been doing Motivational Monday, Pick Me Up Thursday, and Let It Go Friday, but I think we could all use a little extra positivity and togetherness at this time. I hope you will find the quote I share positive and encouraging for togetherness and I look forward to reading your comments, which I will respond to as quickly as I possibly can!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you have a wonderful and safe day! With COVID-19 still causing so much stress and illness it is so important to practice ALL safety procedures the professional suggest. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and many positive vibes!
