Hopes for our sweet girl!

Happy Sunday y’all! I hope y’all had a nice and safe weekend. Isn’t it crazy how fast the weekend flies by and how long, and draining the work weeks can be? Of course, I did not do much over the weekend, and yet I feel incredibly drained and exhausted. It does not make much sense because I slept in today for the first time in a long time, but then again, I did not go to bed until late. My guess is it is the cold and rainy weather we have had lately that is making me not feel so well. All well, it is what it is, and we cannot let things like the weather get us down, right?

Y’all have seen the pictures of my two adorable and sweet cats in at least one of my previous posts. My husband and I love these two precious cats more than I think I could ever begin to explain. So, I think I said before that our older cat, Chloe was diagnosed with “early-stage kidney disease”, but we are deeply concerned it is now progressing. For the past few days, she seems to be getting weaker and having a hard time getting onto the couch and bed. It still amazes me how much Sundance loves Chloe and the feelings are mutual. It is heartbreaking because we are worried about what the next step is going to be.

I think one reason I have felt so drained this weekend is that I am so worried about Chloe and trying to be strong, and positive for my husband and our other cat. It is not easy forcing myself to be positive and strong when I am worried and fearing what is going to happen next. We already lost the sweet cat we had before Sundance. Lexi was another sweet and loving soul that lost her life way too early because of cancer. The only pessimistic thing I said to my husband earlier today was that I could not go through three losses back-to-back like we went through back in 2013. Towards the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014, I lost my beloved Grandfather (Poppy), then we lost my husband’s dear sweet Grandmother, and then we lost Lexi. The back-to-back loss was too much to handle and I do not believe I can go through anything like that again.

The funny this is, I have always said we never have more than we can handle put on us. But seriously, who can handle that much loss so close together more than once in their lifetime? Logically, I do know no animal or human cannot live forever, and we are going to have to deal with losing Chloe someday. I just want to do everything I can to keep Chloe comfortable and healthy for as long as I possibly can, but I will not be selfish and make her suffer.

Another thing I have always said is animals are so much different than humans. I think animals love unconditionally and without any conditions. They do not hold grudges and can forgive. The thing about animals is, they cannot tell us how they are feeling and are completely vulnerable. Animals are innocent and rely on us to take care of them. I wish Chloe could tell us how she is feeling and what we could do to make her feel better, but unfortunately, she cannot do this. We must rely on what we know about her to decide what she is feeling. This is not something easy to do, but I promise we are doing the best we can. Please do me a small favor, keep Chloe in your thoughts and pray she will get better, and her life will carry on for a while longer.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I appreciate you taking the time to read my post and hope to read your thoughts on this as well. It has not been an easy weekend, but we are going to remain hopeful. I hope y’all had a nice weekend and you are continuing to stay safe. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes.

Always, Alyssa

Inspirational Wednesday

~We Are Halfway To The Weekend~

Happy Wednesday y’all! I hope you are having a great week and you are staying safe! Even though some weeks feel longer than others, we have a lot to be thankful for. I think we can all agree that life is short and it is important to try living life to the fullest. I have always believed that all the struggles and challenges we face in life make us stronger. We are all fierce and can take on anything the world throws our way, and handle it with pride and dignity!

As y’all know, I got the COVID vaccine on Saturday, which I told you I did not feel all that well over the weekend, however, I am feeling better than I did over the weekend and do not have any regrets. I cannot tell you if the fatigue I was dealing with was from the vaccine or if it was the lack of sleep on Friday night because of my anxiety, but I am feeling a lot more normal now. I also cannot say if the body aches were from the vaccine or the upcoming rain because I do always feel achier when it rains. Now honestly, I do feel pain most days and some days are better than others, but that is just part of my life and I just deal with it.

As we still have a few more days left before the weekend, we must continue to remind ourselves that we can handle anything because of how strong we already are! I am hoping the quote that I am sharing with y’all today will be inspirational and provide you the additional energy to get through the next couple of days! Just think, the hardest part of the week is pretty much over! I am very excited to read your thoughts on the quote I shared and promise to respond to all comments as quickly as I can.

Thank you for visiting my site today! I guess there are technically two quotes in this post, so I hope you enjoyed one or both of them! I hope you have a fabulous and safe day. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

My COVID Vaccine Experience

~To Get The Vaccine OR To Not Get The Vaccine~

On Saturday morning, with an incredibly special thank you to my wonderful husband, I was finally able to get the COVID vaccine. If I had waited for either my specialist or the governor of the state, I live in to get this vaccine, I am sure I would have been waiting until at least summer. I do understand the need for front line workers and elderly individuals to be among the first to get the vaccine. However, I also think people with a weak immune system should be able to get the vaccine as well. Truthfully, it is not just because I have a weak immune system but those with a weak immune system can become deathly ill with this virus. I guess in a sense it is a blessing this vaccine was created so quickly, but it is also awful there are so many people that will have to wait to get the vaccine because not enough were rolled out.

It typically takes 5-10 years to create a vaccine and yet the COVID vaccine was done in less than one year. I know I did just get the vaccine, but one of many reasons why I was so hesitant about getting the COVID vaccine was because it so fast. I was obviously concerned about the side effects it might have that they were unaware of. I do not think there were enough tests completed, but during this pandemic with so many people dying each day, I guess there were not many options.

We have all been living in fear for so many months and most of us have been staying at home to be safe. This past year has created the feeling of isolation, which can feel very lonely. Many of us missed out on celebrating the holidays with our family because of this virus. I do still believe that if everyone had followed the advice from experts in the beginning, things might have been better. There was a lot of misinformation being released from the government, which as y’all already know had me feeling terribly angry. It will not be a surprise to any of you that have been reading my posts during the Trump administration, but I think the way the pandemic was handled or rather not handled was all wrong.

I do passionately believe that if there had been someone else in charge in the beginning of the pandemic, things would have been handled faster and more efficiently. We were all told so many lies about the virus either not being that serious or that the virus was a hoax. Many people never thought anyone could put the lives of other human beings in danger, but that was not the situation. Unfortunately, the former president of the United States did not have any concerns about anyone but his own safely.

I know y’all are not reading this to hear about what I think of the former president or the ways this virus got so out of control, but I do want to let y’all know how my experience was getting the COVID vaccine. I am not going to lie to y’all I was very nervous. As I already said one of my biggest concerns was the possible side effects of a new vaccine. Another concern I had was any potential interactions with my MS medications. The Nurse Practitioner at my specialist’s office told me some of the other patients on Gilenya did already get the vaccine and did not have any side effects. I also called the manufacturer of Gilenya to find out if they heard of anyone taking this medication getting the vaccine and having a bad interaction, but with the vaccine being so new they did not have any information. I am also very aware that no two people will probably experience the medication, the vaccine or the two together the same way, but I had to cover all basis before I got the vaccine.

Before I even got the vaccine, I was already dealing with a nasty headache, but I think it may have been caused by stress and lack of sleep. After I got the vaccine on Saturday morning, my husband and I stopped to get some breakfast because I was so hungry. We just went through the drive-thru and took the food home to eat. My headache did not ease up and I was exhausted, but again, the night before I hardly slept at all. Overall, besides the fatigue and headache, I did experience body aches all weekend. To be completely transparent, I could not tell if the body aches were from the vaccine or the rainy weather we were expecting. On most days I do ache from head to toe, but the aches seemed much more intense.

Much to my surprise, I did not have any severe side effects from the vaccine and even have the second one scheduled for February 13 at 9:00 AM. I prefer to do things like this early in the day and when I have a day or so without having to work just in case, I end up not feeling well. I think another reason I was so terrified of the vaccine is because I never even got the normal flu shot because of possible negative interactions with my MS medicine.

My husband has already had his 2nd COVID vaccine and even after I do as well, we will continue to behave as if we did not get it. We will both continue to wear masks, social distance, and sanitize everything because we both feel that you can never be too safe. It is awful that thousands of people are still dying daily because of this virus and upsetting how many others still refuse to wear a mask. I will never understand why people cannot see the increased numbers of new cases and deaths, and still think a mask is too uncomfortable to wear. In my eyes, a little discomfort for a short amount of time is worth it if it will save lives!

I am not going to be one of those people that says you must get the vaccine because I think you need to be comfortable with this. Nothing I have said in this post is meant to be medical advice and I would still advise you to consult your physician before getting the vaccine. Yes, I think it will keep you safer, but even after getting the vaccine you can still get COVID. I was told if you have had the vaccine and get the virus, symptoms might not be as severe. Unfortunately, with this virus and the vaccine still being new, I do not think anyone really knows answers to be 100% true, but they are working with the information they do have.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my post today! I guess this topic can be controversial, but I did want to share my vaccine experience with y’all. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared and hope it will help you to make your own decision to get the vaccine or to not get the vaccine. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday y’all I hope you had a nice and relaxing weekend. Let me first start by apologizing for not sharing my post about the COVID vaccine I did on Saturday. After getting the vaccine on Saturday, I was honestly feeling so achy, tired, and had a headache so I was not able to, but I do promise to do one very soon. What I will tell you is I am okay and there were not any serious side effects to the vaccine.

Now that we are beginning another new week, I think we all need a little motivation to begin the week with a positive mindset! As always, my hope is the quote I am sharing with help start your week with optimism and your week gets better with each day that passes by. I will love to read your thoughts on this quote as well and promise to respond as quickly as I can. I do believe we all are offered several opportunities each day, but some might be blocked by the shadows of the darkness of our struggles and negative emotions. There might be times we can bring light to someone else’s life, clearing the darkness so they can see the opportunities available to them.

This is going to be a short post because I am still battling with a lot of fatigue, but I do hope you were able to enjoy what you read. I want to thank you for taking the time to read this short post. I hope you have a fantastic and safe day! Please never for get that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Let It Go Friday

~We Finally Made It, Happy Friday ~

I am so glad that we finally made it through this week! I do not know about you, but I think this has been a painfully LONG week! Of course, work has been busy, which I like, but I can use a break from the insanity! I am not sure if it is stress-related or the colder weather, but my pain levels have increased drastically. Yes, I am going to be getting the first COVID vaccine tomorrow morning and if I am being completely honest, I am nervous about it. I am not nervous about getting a shot, however, I am nervous if this vaccine will have a negative interaction with the medication I take for the MS. At least I do not work the weekend and my husband will be sure nothing bad happens to me, and if all else fails the hospital is close to where I am going for the vaccine.

Our work week tends to be stressful and even cause some negative emotions to bubble up. Now that the weekend is so close, it is time to let go of all bad energy and feelings and just enjoy the short weekend. As I get older, I am understanding more and more, we have to do what brings us joy and care much less about what others think of us. As long as we are continuing to be kind, caring, understanding, and fair to others we are doing everything right. I am hoping the quote I am sharing with y’all will help remind you to live your life doing what you love and not trying to impress anyone else!

What do y’all have planned for your weekend? Y’all know I never do anything over the weekend, but you also know I am leaving the house tomorrow! Is it crazy that I am excited to leave the house but nervous about why I am leaving the house? Does anyone reading this post have Multiple Sclerosis, take Gilenya, and have received the COVID vaccine? I know that everyone experiences medication and side effects differently, but it might help relieve my anxiety to hear from someone that can give me a little information about the vaccine.

Thank you for visiting my site today! I really appreciate you continuing to visit and love reading your comments. It might sound silly to some, but I consider all my fellow bloggers friends. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and many positive vibes!

Pick Me Up Thursday

Happy Friday Eve y’all! It has been a crazy and long week, but we have almost made it to the weekend! I was supposed to have my virtual appointment today with my neurologist, but she rescheduled it because I did not get my MRI. The reason I did not get the MRI done is because of COVID-19 and I was not ready to take any unnecessary chances. I am not going to lie to y’all I was and still am a little frustrated with her about this because she “should” understand that with my weak immune system, I am HIGH risk. Even though my doctor pretty much failed me, my husband came through for me. He went to get his second COVID vaccine shot on Wednesday and told the right person about my situation. This lady is an angel and sent me an invite for the vaccine, which I will be getting my first shot on Saturday! It is amazing how kind some people can be, this person does not know either one of us and has done something very remarkable. Even though there is a lot of hate in the world, people like this one person has restored my faith in humanity!

We only have one day left of this week and I don’t know about y’all, but I could use a little pick me up. Of course, part of the reason I say this is because I am disappointed with the neurologist, but I am also ready to be able to sleep in. I hope the quote that I am sharing with y’all today will be the pick me up you might need! No matter what we have seen go on in the world, please know even though they are rare, there are still some good, caring, and compassionate people that exist! Also, please remember that hope is something that is powerful and makes a huge difference in our lives!

How have y’all been feeling lately? And, how has your week been? My plans for the weekend are to get the first COVID vaccine on Saturday morning and have groceries delivered at some point, but other than that just relaxing and recuperating from this past week. We have all seen the news and the terrible things that have taken place, but we are all better than to get caught up in the massive levels of hate. Now more than ever, it is crucial to spread as much love, understanding, compassion, and kindness to as many as we can. Whatever your plans are for the weekend, please just remember to stay safe!

Thank you for visiting my site today! We all deserve a break from the craziness and to be able to enjoy our lives. I hope y’all already know this, but if you did not know how much I appreciate your continued support and kindness. I love reading your comments and even though I might not respond quickly, I can promise I will as soon as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, compassion, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Inspirational Wednesday

~We Are Halfway Through The Week~

Happy Wednesday y’all! I hope you are all having a great week! The world has all been living in the midst of a crisis with COVID-19. I do know it isn’t easy to deal with the stress of this, especially with the vaccine being difficult to get. The good news is, we today, in the United States, we are saying “goodbye” to a failed administration and will be welcoming a new administration. I know there are some that are not very welcoming to the new administration, but it is a possible a fresh set of eyes will find a better way to handle this awful situation.

Now that we have made it halfway through this week, we are so much closer to the weekend we all look forward to! During these trying times, it is extremely important to hold on tight to hope, because without hope, we do not have anything to keep us feeling optimistic. I think hope offers a sense of comfort and peace. My wish for y’all is, the quote that I am sharing will offer you the desire to push through the next couple of days to make it to a restful and peaceful weekend! It seems there is a lot of anger and hate in the world today, so to try discovering the light in the mix can be beneficial. If we are all able to see a little light through all the darkness, we might be able to light up the world we are in together. What do you think about this quote I have shared?

Yesterday, while I was at work, one of my co-workers called me to tell me her COVID test came back positive. This lady was very upset, which I cannot blame her. She told me that not only does she have diabetes and obesity, but she has a few other health issues. I tried comforting her, by telling her as long as she did not have any breathing troubles, she just needed to let her primary care physician know just in case he wanted to see her or offer any other suggestions. We work from home, so if she is feeling okay and did not have to miss work , I do not think she would have to notify the HR department, but I did suggest she let our team lead know and go from there. As far as I know, she ended up clocking out so she could get a better and calmer handle on things. Hearing the fear in her voice broke my heart. I will check up on her later today and hope she is feeling well and resting!

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you have a great day and, as always, please continue to stay as safe as you can. I hope you never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

~Tranquil Tuesday~

Happy Tuesday y’all! I hope you are having a great week and you are continuing to stay safe! Yesterday was a busy day at work for me, but I prefer it to be busy because it makes the day go much faster. I find when I do not have anything to do, the day drags by and it seems like the clock stopped moving or sometimes backward. How do you prefer your day at work to be, slow or busy? I am curious because I know my husband prefers his time at work to be slow.

Now that we have one day over in our week, I have to believe or at least hope the rest of the week is going to be great! Tomorrow, the new president will be inaugurated and even though some people are unhappy about this, I think a few set of eyes on the problems in the United States might be a good thing! The United States, like every other country has faced some serious hard times. Personally, I think there has been too much violence and a massive spread of hate, which does not and never will make sense to me. I guess this is the reason I found the quote I am sharing with y’all so incredible and touching! I think what this quote says is exactly what we need a lot more of. What do you think?

What do y’all honestly think about the issues you see on the TV that are going on in the United States? The roll-out of the COVID vaccine has not gone the way we all wished it did. I looked it up last night when I would be able to get the vaccine and at this point, it almost looks like people in prison will get it long before I do. I do under that prisoners’ are all in close quarters everyday and therefore could spread the virus much more quickly, but why are it law abiding citizens forced being I to wait and put in grave danger? I often wonder what happened to common sense!

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you have a great day, and please stay safe. I know I say it multiple times in each post, but this virus scares me and I want to encourage everyone to do everything in their means, to safe! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Motivational Monday

~We Can Start This Week Positively~

Happy Monday y’all! I hope you had a nice and safe weekend! Are you prepared to begin the week with a positive mindset? This week in the United States there will be some changes and maybe a little fear in some, but hopefully things will go well, smooth, and safely! On Wednesday, we will have a new president inaugurated and maybe the new administration will finally have the people be a priority. We already survived 4 years where the people were anything but a priority and more of an after thought. I am not sure how the new president and vice president will be, but my hope is better than the last 4 years.

On a more positive note, Monday is the beginning of a new week and there could be a lot of great opportunities for all of us. Even though there have been so many awful things happening around the world, this could be a week of great changes. Of course, we are leaving the restful weekend behind us, but we are ready to embrace the week ahead of us! I hope the quote that I am sharing with y’all today will provide you with the motivation we all need on a Monday. I would love to know what you think about this quote because you all have great thoughts!

What is on your agenda this week? Of course, I will be working all week and it has been pretty busy which I love. On Thursday, I have a virtual appointment with my neurologist and I am hoping she will be able to help me get the COVID vaccine. I guess I think with a weak immune system, I should be a good candidate for this vaccine, but we will see. I know I have been difficult with neurologists because they seem to have a the personality of a slug, but this new one idolized my first neurologist that I loved, so she won me over with that!

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you have a great day and your week only gets better with each day that passes. One of the most important things for us to do is, stay optimistic and encourage others the best we can! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

We Are In This Together

~Together We Can Make A Difference~

We have all been going through the same struggles and fears since the beginning of 2020. We have probably all been staying home and avoiding any contact with others outside of our home because of COVID-19. Is it just me or does it feel like we are all on house arrest? I sometimes think that actual house arrest offers more freedom than we have seen over the last several LONG months. Truthfully, it has been a lot more than just several months and more like a year! There is a chance I am wrong, but I think if things were handled differently at the beginning of the pandemic, we would not still be experiencing the hardships and isolation we are today. I am pretty sure I have said this a million times before, but the Trump administration this took place under failed miserably.

I think y’all already know that I work from home as well, so I am literally always at home. I miss the days when my husband and I could go out to dinner or even to the mall to look around. This sounds awful, but I honestly cannot remember the last time we were able to go out for a nice dinner. Not that this was something we did often, but at least we were able to for special occasions. I know my husband loves a good steak every now and then, which I do not care for and I do not know how to even cook steak. Of course, my husband has never been much of a cook, and truthfully I do not think he has ever cook anything. I remember before we started living together, he was trying to make hot dogs and had no clue how to. I thought it was cute and a little silly, so I walked him through how to make a hot dog.

Of all things, I never in a million years thought I would miss going grocery shopping because I always dreaded this task. Since the pandemic began, I have been having groceries delivered. I am thankful for the amazing people that work with this service, but it makes me feel like I am being lazy and useless. This is an awful feeling but considering many people in the city I live in refuse to wear a mask or even social distance, and the fact I have a weak immune system, I cannot take any chances. I do not want to get COVID-19 and risk being hospitalized, and possibly losing my life. I would love to see my late grandfather again, but not right now.

Over the past several months, I have been keeping track of the new COVID cases in the city I live in. To put it mildly, the numbers are terrifying, but the way people behave is insane! I also know there are many people that still think this virus is not that serious or even just a joke. The problem with this way of thinking is, people lie, but numbers do not lie. When we all can see the number of new cases on a steady rise, logically this would show the when the way people are behaving is NOT working you would think it might be better to try something different, right? This would mean, for anyone that is NOT wearing a mask when they leave their homes to start wearing a mask. Or for anyone that is NOT practicing social distancing, to start keeping space between themselves and others. Months ago, the experts advised 6 feet was a good distance to keep, but now they have increased the space to 10 feet. Of course, masks cost money and are difficult to find, but social distancing is free and easy to do. Even before the pandemic, I never appreciated people getting too close to me because I value my personal space!

Anyone that has known me for any length of time, knows that for the most part, I like people. I have always been great at socializing with people of all kinds. I guess the sad truth is, with everything that I have seen on the news and witnessed, I have become overly angry and a little hostile, which are characteristics that I am NOT proud of and are very unlike me. Unfortunately, my patience and tolerance for ignorance have diminished greatly because of COVID, the increased levels of selfishness, heightened number of lies we are being told daily, and then the lack of questioning these people telling the lies, and even worse is the lack of accountability there is in the entire world. When I mess up, I own up to my mistakes and deal with the repercussions of these mistakes because that is what good human beings are supposed to do. I do not think I will ever understand why those that did NOT do what was RIGHT at the beginning of the pandemic are not punished for their wrongdoings, or at least feel awful and apologize for what they did wrong. I already know that some of you might disagree with me, but I strongly believe that the almost 400,000 deaths of American’s are Donald Trump’s fault. The failed leadership, lack of empathy, and sympathy by this person are by far the worst I have ever witnessed. The bottom line is, COVID-19 is not political, it is a matter of life and death!

Of course, next week a new president will be inaugurated into office. Joe Biden was our vice president for 8 years and I hope he will do right by not only the American people but people around the world. Biden is not a perfect man and he will make mistakes, but I cannot imagine he will screw up anywhere near as much as Trump has. I think Biden and Harris have plans to help heal the United States from COVID -19 and hopefully, this means a better plan for delivering the vaccine to all of us who need the vaccine. I do not think that Trump had any plans because he does not care about the lives of people and only cares about his #1, himself. I am not going to say the Biden/Harris team will not screw up more than the Trump/Pence team because I have said something like this before and was VERY wrong! At this point, all we can all do is hope for better, brighter, and safer times in our future because what is life without hope?

I want to thank you for taking the time to read this post and even though you might disagree, I would love to read your comments. I can promise you, even if we disagree on everything or agree, I will respect your views because that is just my nature. I hope you are having a nice and safe weekend! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
