Motivational Monday!

monday is a state of mindGood morning y’all! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are starting the new week off with nothing but positive thoughts! I do hope your new week and new month bring you much happiness and comfort!

I can not believe it is already July, I mean where did the first part of the year go? I kind of wish time would slow down enough for me to get caught up. Just out of curiosity, has this year gone by very fast for you?

We are not only facing a new week, but we are facing a new month and I believe we should start it off the right way. smile-like-youve-never-criedfight-like-youve-never-lost-inspirational-quoteThe quote I am sharing with y’all today I have had for a while now, but I was just waiting for the right time to share it.I hope you find some kind of comfort and inspiration while reading it!

I do not for one second think anyone’s life is easy and they never go through any difficultrelax-300 times. Personally, I have a tendency to try hiding when I am in a lot of pain or when I am extremely sad. I know it does not do me any good, but I do not want to invade another person’s life with how I am feeling. I find writing helpful to express my emotions and crocheting to help me relax. The funny thing is, I have been crocheting for a while now and I have created many blankets, but they were all the Granny Stitch. I have been trying to learn how to crochet the Sea Shell Stitch. I have found this aggravating and continue feeling like it does not look good! I have started over download (7)again about 10 times, but I am getting better at it.

I want to thank y’all for stopping by my site today. I appreciate your continued support and the amazing conversations I have with so many of you. I hope your week starts off well and only gets better! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of   love ❤, comfort, and many positive vibes!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

  1. I have many many many granny stitch afghans, and I love them all. Most become gifts, but there are always a few that you can’t bring yourself to part with. I’ve also done gloves, mittens, scarves, and hats with the granny stitch.. it’s versatile and I love it!

      • It isn’t easy, but kind of is. I am just hard on myself and always think I’m not doing a good job. I have been doing the Granny stitch for a long time and remember it took me a few blankets to actually have it look pretty. I can send you the YouTube link I was learning from. Let me know and I will be happy to send it to you!

  2. “Just out of curiosity, has this year gone by very fast for you?” – YES!! It’s scary!
I love that quote – it’s so bittersweet & poignant.
I also get that tendency to hide away when I don’t want to ‘inflict’ how I’m feeling on others, but then sometimes those that love you feel closed out because they want to be there for you. It’s a tough one to navigate sometimes. I’ve still not crocheted but it’s on my list of things I’d like to try eventually. Keep going with the Sea Shell Stitch, you’ll nail it soon enough! 🙂
I hope you have a good week ahead lovely xxxx

    • Thank you so much for your comment! We are so much alike, which makes it easier to understand each other. If you decide to crochet, please let me know. I have watched several YouTube videos and they are very helpful! I am going to keep trying with the sea shell stitch, I know I will improve. I had crocheted a few blankets a long time ago that were the Granny Square and now I can do it so easily!

    • I am sure your son will love the beanie when it is completed. It is okay to stall things and just start again when you have the time. Thank you so much for the good luck wishes with the new stitch. It is funny, it took me several tries before I did well with the Granny Square and I know I will get there with the Sea Shell one, I just have to be patient (not something I am good at!)

    • It still shocks me the year is more than half over! I mean, seriously where does time go? I remember when I first learned the simple Granny Square, it took me several tries before the blankets came out looking good. I will continue to try with the Sea Shell stitch until I make the blanket as close to perfect as possible. I never really learned patience, with myself at least!!

    • I still can’t believe we are more than halfway through 2019. Time has gone insanely fast. You are very right I have had an active year and just want to avoid any other activity! New house (well that was actually in 2018, but at the end of the year), new jobs, loss of a car and gain of a new/used car. I think I had more go on this year than in many others.
