What brings you happiness?

Tough-times-dont-last-tough-people-do.-300x300There are many times during our lives when things get very difficult! I feel like it is important to do our best to push those feelings aside and not dwell on the negative. Is this easy? Absolutely NOT, but sitting around allowing for the hardships to dictate our life will never do us any good. I find that during the difficult times, we must try to think about what brings us joy. Maybe flooding our minds with the positives will actually bring them into reality; we will never know 100% unless we try it!

I want to ask you a question and really look forward to reading your response. To show how much I want to do the same, I will answer my question for y’all!beautiful times

What are five things that bring happiness to your life?

The answer to my question is:

  1. The love ❤ I share with my husband is quite powerful and never-ending.
  2. My two absolutely adorable and loving cats. I don’t think anyone could be around them and not find joy!
  3. It makes me very happy to be able to write what I want to
  4. write about.
  5. The incredible connections I have been able to make through my blog. Y’all have truly been amazing and I am thankful for all of you!
  6. Travelling to new places when we are able or even travelling to places we have been many times before. The beach  is by far my preference.

motivational-quotes-for-someone-down-with-i-might-fall-but-will-not-stay-gym-2During times when I get very stressed or very upset, these are the things that can change my mood. My husband knows what I am feeling and thinking before I even say it out loud. Even though there was no consoling me after my accident, if he did not get to me as quickly as he did, I would have been much more upset and terrified! Both of my cats know when I am feeling horrible and or in pain, so they do not leave my side or shall I say my lap until they think I am feeling a little better! It is hilarious both of them trying to fit on my lap because even though the older cat is very petite, the younger one is a big boy!download (1)

I know I have said in earlier posts that writing is the best outlet for me.  Writing has always been one of my strongest passions and I have no doubt my love for writing will never fade. By continuing to read what I share, y’all are not only giving me the opportunity to continue to write, but also the chance to make great friends that truly understand!

During the truly frustrating times after the accident I had last week, I am trying my best 0fb54ae29b2fd5f0b57ec18d819ce11eto keep these positive things in my mind! We are currently waiting for the driver that was in this accident to accept responsibility because there needs to be payout for the repairs and a rental car for me. I will never understand this considering the police report stated clearly it was his fault! I mean who is really ever going to take responsibility for their wrong doings when they can just prolong the situation by either not answering calls or denying responsibility all together? It is pretty ridiculous, but I am trying to be patient which isn’t one of my strongest qualities.

Thank you for visiting my site today and I do look forward to reading your answer to my HOW_TO_THINK_WHEN_LIFE_GETS_DIFFICULTquestion! There are two options we have when it comes to being happy. One is we can hold onto and dwell on negative emotions or choose to remember the things that bring us the most joy in life and hold onto those instead! I do hope you will take a few moments to answer my question, but I understand if you aren’t able to. Of course I will love to learn what makes you happy and I will respond to all comments as soon as I can! Please remember that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort, and many positive vibes!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

  1. I so enjoyed reading your post today, Alyssa. Very moving, and touching, to say the least.
Five things that bring me happiness are:
    1. My parrot “Peanut”, granted he is a bird but a darn intelligent one at that. He is also my support animal. He knows my moods better than I do at times. Meaning, when he sees I’m not quite in the right frame of mind, he will always ask, “Are you alright? Are you okay?” or “I love you, Mommy.” He knows I adore him, and he knows what eases me. He will always say, “Mommy, mommy, rub the head.” which means, taking him out of his cage for some cuddling time. We do this quite often. He might be a bird, but he is my 31-year-old-son. 💗
    2. The relationship I have with my mother. We may not see one another because we live 3000 miles apart, but we talk daily. She is my dearest, best friend. I simply love her.
    3. Although I have a mental illness/disorders, I don’t let that define who I am. Sure, I may be too sensitive at times, or get angry. Overall, I think I convey being a pretty positive person even when it’s the hardest thing to do. But, I at least try.
    4. My blogging. I love to write, always have. Blogging has become a very real part of my life. In a lot of ways, it keeps me sane. I have met some of the most incredible people here, and I wouldn’t change that for anything. I count my blessing to have all of these people in my life (Even though we are scattered all over the world). I feel a sense of unity more so here than in my real life.
    5. My body may ache 85% of the day, but I still have the air in my lungs and a mind that still functions on some cylinders. LOL! I’m just grateful to be alive. Simple things like the sun shining, a nice breeze or even a thunderstorm bring me happiness… It’s because I’m able to experience them. I can’t believe that it’s almost 4 years since I almost took my own life. Honestly, knowing I have kept forging ahead, that makes me very happy.
So, there you have it. My top five things that bring me happiness. 🤗

    • Thank you so much and I am thrilled you enjoyed this! We all do need just a little more positivity and happy thoughts! I absolutely loved your answers as well. Time with our spouses tend to be short, but we can make the most of that time! Music is an amazing form of therapy. I can tell you, if I didn’t have music in my ears at work I would lose patients fast! Animals and children are great because they are innocent and show real love! Writing is absolutely amazing and I too love it!!!

    1) My dad

    • I just can’t seem to understand what the issue is. The police report clearly says he was at fault, but the insurance company wants to do their own investigation! It is just stupid!

I loved reading your answers! I am glad you have such a great relationship with your father! Animals really are the best thing ever. Does your cat and puppy get a long?

      • Definitely keep us posted about the car wreck! I suspect justice will be served!! (I sure hope so!!)

Yeah, we just got the new doggie a week and a half ago! So far, she’s gone up to Mr. Kitty and taken a few innocent sniffs, and he’s reciprocated! They seem to be friends in the making! YAY!

      • Yeah, we will see what happens with the car situation. What I can tell you is, if they try to say it was my fault we are hiring a lawyer! This accident was in NO way at all my fault!

I am so happy for you that you got a new puppy! What kind is your puppy? I am sure your puppy and kitty will end up cuddling and be best of friends!! I never would have thought our older cat would love another cat as much as she loves our little boy. Those two are inseparable!

      • Awww, thank you!! The new puppy is a Newfoundland who weighs around 70 pounds! You can see why little Mr. Kitty, at 9 pounds, is intimidated!! 😀 But oh, Luna Petunia is the sweetest doggie ever. We all adore her. She loves to jump up, put her paws on my shoulders, and give me hugs and kisses. It’s love!!

      • Your puppy sounds like a sweetheart!!! It is often kind of funny that in time, your puppy will be more afraid of your kitty that he is of her! Once your puppy realizes that the cats claws are super sharp, the fear will set in. She is 70 pounds right now? How old is she? She might be a big and lovable baby!! I am so happy you have these sweet animals in your life and you deserve nothing but joy!

      • Oh, thank you!! Yes, Luna Petunia is a gentle giant! She’s a year & four months old! We think she’s mostly full-grown, but we aren’t certain! You would adore her!!

  4. I like your idea of holding onto what makes us happy rather than what bothers us. What if you really have no idea what makes you happy? Sounds sad and it is. I feel when you’re married you have to always think what makes both of you happy. What happens when you think one way and your husband thinks another? Some things you just can’t compromise over. It’s either my way or their way. I wish saying what makes you happy would also make the other half happy. Unfortunately we’re 2 different people that don’t always think the same. I wish I could name 5 things that make me happy. Then I would feel like I was living rather than existing. I’m so thankful you find happiness in the things you mentioned. I know 1 thing that makes me happy and its knowing you’re happy and safe. All my Love & Support, Mom!

    • Oh my goodness Kally, I really loved reading what brings you happiness! I will say that my husband and our two absolutely amazing cats bring me so much joy as well! Do your 3 cats get along with each other? It always surprises me how much our cats do love each other, especially because the older one has a HUGE attitude on her! I imagine your little girl is a beautiful little girl!!!
