Pick-Me-Up Thursday

good afternoonGood afternoon y’all! I am so sorry that my pick-me-up Thursday is coming out late, but I have not been feeling all that great. I have been dealing not only with the pain, but these terrible dizzy spells! I am so glad tomorrow is Friday because a weekend is needed. I hope you have had a pleasant week and I do hope you find great meaning to this quote!9eb48ca181f470907d1fd0080e004c7d
Personally, I do think all the struggles we may encounter only make us stronger and give us the ability to handle anything that might come our way! I hope the rest of your week goes well, it is only one more day and I really hope you are feeling as good as you possibly can. Please remember that I am always sending you LOTS of love❤ and comfort!

    • Thank you so much! I am glad you liked this quote. It had a lot of meaning to me so I felt it was necessary to share it! I think between stress and heat, this pain I feel is just here for a while. I just need the dizzy spells to STOP.
I hope you have a great Friday and weekend as well!!

  1. No need to say your sorry, you do what you can, when you can… your thoughts are always welcome but do so in a manner that it doesn’t add more stress to your day… have a quiet and carefree day and evening!!… 🙂

    • Thank you sweetie! I hope you have a great weekend as well. I was so glad to see your blogs again. Please remember, it is always good to try new things. They either work out great or you find they are not as wonderful as you might have thought they would be.

    • Thank you Terri! The dizziness is difficult and new. I am learning how to know when they are coming and keep on my feet!
Tomorrow is the fun MRI, which I will get the results next Thursday. I kind of think I know what they are going to read, but I am trying to not think too much into. I know that nothing I can say or do are going to alter them, no matter what I try!

      • I have dizziness and vertigo. The vertigo comes on strong when I change positions – sitting and then standing, sitting and then laying.
I often times think it’s best to know then not. And if I’m feeling bad and know I’m gut there’s something not right, I pray they find something, just so then we can start finding a way the doctors can help me. Yes, indeed, no one wants the dreaded bad news, but if it’s going to help the way you feel, then I pray something shows up on the MRI.
I’m claustrophobic and I have an MRI scheduled for the last week of August. I’m also allergic to iodine but this one they need to do with and without contrast. I pray something shows up, I’ve been experiencing numbness in my left side of my face again, especially my tongue – something that hadn’t happen since before decompression surgery back in 2013.

      • I find that if I get up too fast or move my head to quickly, I become twice as dizzy! I often get very uncomfortable in the MRI machine and I swear everything start to itch the second I am in the machine. I am dreading 5:00 when I have to be at the imaging center. I feel like I know how this MRI is going to read, but what good does thinking about it do? I hope your MRI the last week in August goes well and it isn’t too bad!!

      • I know the feeling too well. I have to take routine MRI’s every 6 months, but it seems that I’m doing them a lot more often lately due to other things that have come up. But you can never get too used to the machines. Since I am claustrophobic, I was prescribed medication to ease the anxiety. It helps me a lot, but at the end, it relaxes my body so much, that I end up falling asleep on the ride back home – thank God, I don’t drive myself! 🙂

      • MIR’s never seem to get easier, but I guess we do what we have to do. The one I did today was only of the brain, so it wasn’t too horrible. My pain doctor will not allow me to take anything for anxiety any more. This is going to sound mean, but I think Trump is his role model, so he just follows the “crazy” so-called rules.

      • Apparently there is some “law” that says you are not able to do take pain meds and anxiety meds. I think it is wrong, but that is what he practices. I am going to work on a post about the MRI, but it went okay. Of course I do not have the results yet, but I am trying to not think about it because my thoughts go into the negative. I hope you are feeling well and I hope your weekend goes great!!

      • Wow! Haven’t heard that but thank you for letting me know. So far all my doctors are ok with the conjunction of medicine I take daily. I swear I feel like a mini pharmacy! Ugh! But it helps feel semi normal and takes a small portion of the pain away. I’m going to go read it! 😊🙏🏽 I know a thing or two about those darn MRIs! Eek! I’m so glad you got through that and it’s behind you!

Thank you so much! Likewise Alyssa, hope you have a great weekend as well.

      • What he is telling me isn’t entirely true. I looked it up and there are exceptions that he isn’t allowing. I take too much medicine morning, noon and night so I understand you saying you feel like a mini pharmacy. It is crazy isn’t it?!

      • Lol yes! 😆 I mean, you’re feeling something, I got the medicine for it! It’s CRAZY! I would have never thought at my age, I’d be having to take so much for the on going pains. My father is in his mid 60’s, doesn’t take a thing 🤦🏽‍♀️ So blessed! But than God knows what He does. He doesn’t give you more than you can handle. 😊🙏🏽

      • As difficult as life can be, I do believe we are never given more than we can handle. But my goodness, I also think that sometimes enough is enough! We can definitely understand each other and what we have to battle through in life. I really hope you have a relaxing weekend!

      • Yes, we’re fighting, we’re battling each day. You’re an inspiration Alyssa. Don’t give up, we’ve come this far, there’s more to come but there’s isn’t ever a reason to stop fighting. 😊🙏🏽

  2. Hi Alyssa!
Thanks for sharing a brief but moving post. I’ve donwloaded and saved a copy of that photo on my phone back when I was working overseas. I originally intended to share it to a colleague who’s having a hard time dealing with pressures surrounding her at work. I’ve never deleted it even now that I’m back in my home country. And each time I go through difficult situations, myself, I keep going back to it. I find it a geat help to stay positive and strong in life no matter what the circumstance you’re into. Hope you’ll feel better soon, Alyssa!😊

  3. Good luck with the MRI love. I’ll be thinking of you.
I am so sorry to hear you’ve been experiencing dizzy spells recently.
They’re definitely not new to me and they’re awful and often make you feel sick too.

    • Thank you so much!! I will have the MRI tonight at 5:30, but will not get the results until next Thursday.
I have had slight dizzy spells many years ago, but it was due to a relapse. These keep coming at random times which is so frustrating. They do cause me to feel sick. I am trying to learn how to control them, which you know is almost impossible! What did you do for yours?

  4. A very true quote I think, too. Sorry you’ve been feeling so rough and dizzy.. Do you think anything’s triggering that? I do hope you can catch up on some much-needed rest over the weekend. Hoping you’re doing a little better today, sending hugs  ♥
