Final Day of the Song/Lyric Challenge

music noteGood morning y’all! I hope you have a wonderful day and I hope you are feeling well!

This is my final Day of the Lyric Challenge. I was so incredibly happy to have been nominated for this challenge from Just Me at https://happymesshappiness.wordpress.com. I have been nominated for numerous challenges over the year I have been blogging and I have enjoyed all of them, but this lyric/song challenge added a little additional excitement for me to be able to share some of my favorite songs. It is fun to share just a few songs that I love and the reason why as well! I hope you have enjoyed the songs I have shared with you. Also I want to thank Just Me again for thinking of me for this fun challenge and I do encourage y’all to visit Just Me’s site at https://happymesshappiness.wordpress.com, I think you will find it to be a great read!

Of course there are rules to follow all challenges, but they are not that difficult. I have found ways to break the rules in other challenges, but I behaved in this one and followed the rules (some of you are probably shocked). With that said here are pretty easy rules for this challenge:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you
  2. Share one of your favorite song/lyrics, one at a time for three days
  3. Nominate three other bloggers each day

imagesMy final song/lyric I am going to share with you is another song from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. This was one of the first songs I heard from this band and even before I asked Ronnie where he came up with this song, I could feel the meaning behind the song! It is an extremely powerful song and I hope you will enjoy it and understand the true meaning behind it.

Face Down – The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Hey girl you know you drive me crazy
One look puts the rhythm in my hand
Still I’ll never understand why you hang around
I see what’s going down

Cover up with make up in the mirror
Tell yourself it’s never gonna happen again
You cry alone and then he swears he loves you

Do you feel like a man
When you push her around?
Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground?
Well I’ll tell you my friend, one day this world’s got to end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found

A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect
Every action in this world will bear a consequence
If you wait around forever you will surely drown
I see what’s going down

I see the way you go and say you’re right again
Say you’re right again
Heed my lecture

Do you feel like a man
When you push her around?
Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground?
Well I’ll tell you my friend, one day this world’s got to end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found

Face down in the dirt
She said “This doesn’t hurt!”
She said “I finally had enough!”

Face down in the dirt
She said “This doesn’t hurt!”
She said “I finally had enough!”

One day she will tell you that she has had enough
It’s coming round again

Do you feel like a man
When you push her around?
Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground?
Well I’ll tell you my friend, one day this world’s got to end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found

Do you feel like a man
When you push her around?
Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground?
Well I’ll tell you my friend, one day this world’s got to end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found

Face down in the dirt
She said “This doesn’t hurt!”
She said “I finally had enough!”

**I really hope this video showed up right in this post. I might not be the best at adding videos, but at least I keep trying**

Before I share my 3 nominees, I want to first say to all of you to not feel any pressure to participate in this challenge. I would of course LOVE ❤to hear your favorite songs, but at the same time I do not want to add any additional stress to your life. If you choose to participate great, but if you choose to pass on this I completely understand!

My 3 fantastic nominees are:

I would also like to once again thank Just Me for nominating me for this challenge, it has been LOTS of fun! As always I am sending y’all LOTS of ❤love and comfort!

My signature heart

  1. This is awesome, congrats on your award and this was a great share! I’d never even come across this band before but the lyrics are quite, well, poignant to say the least. Linky worked by the way! 🙂

    • I absolutely LOVE this band! They will always have a special place in my heart! If you have time, you should check out some of their other songs! They have some pretty amazing songs that are heartfelt and then they have some that are more on the rock side!

      • Nice! I like their name, can’t forget a name like that 🙂
I love songs that have a deeper meaning to someone. It means to me that the song holds an element that speaks directly to the soul.

      • I am so glad you enjoyed this! Many of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’s songs run very deep and I can feel them in my heart and soul! Obviously, “Your Guardian Angel” is special to me considering it was the song they did right after my husband proposed to me. It was also our first dance song! They have a song called “Remember me”, it is about suicide and it breaks my heart!

  2. Great song choices, and the video to this song is also impactful, she sits through the violent destruction and seems like she is peace with the decision to dump the jerk. I love music that has meaningful messages!

  3. Alyssa—I was taken aback by your last song choice. The words were NOT those I would connect to your daily mantra. Then I read that the song was POWERFUL and I could look at your choice in a new way. You reminded me — art is about stirring emotion!! Clearly these artists made you feel something in a way that made you feel and think. I love it!
    I love it!!
