Happy first day of the weekend! How was last week for you? What I can say about last week is it was another week of dealing with the medication I need for Multiple Sclerosis. Anyone who knows about Multiple Sclerosis knows stress can play havoc on the body, and stress and MS are not friends. With that said, you would think a provider working in the field and a company supplying the medication would understand this and not cause additional stress. Unfortunately, my doctor’s office and the Gilenya company did not get the memo because they worked together to cause me far too much stress again last week. Typically, only the Gilenya company is causing the stress, but not this month. When I called the refill into the automated line, it only stated the order was received and I would receive the medication in 2-5 days, which was fine but never received my medication. On Monday, I called back to talk to someone, and they informed me I was out of refills and claimed they faxed my doctor’s office, but no one informed me of the status. Of course, I immediately called the doctor’s office and was told they could not issue refills until I got an MRI. I think they are oblivious to how much an MRI costs, and given I am in school and without a job, where do they think I can come up with the money?

Thankfully, I did receive my Gilenya yesterday because I was going to run out of the medication that is keeping the MS in check. There are many things I do not understand about healthcare in the United States, but the two main issues are the cost and the lack of providers caring about their patients. I know beyond a doubt that if my first neurologist were still managing my care, he would have NEVER put me through that much stress. It might be because he was older and had a different level of caring and understanding than the younger providers. When it is well-known that something drastically impacts a person’s health, why would anyone cause more? I spent several days stressed beyond control and angry because I knew how important the Gilenya was to my health. I even explained to the practitioner that it is not like a medication is something I can live without or that it is a recreational drug it is a lifesaving and life-altering medication! Just a few more reasons why we want to move out of the United States!

Now that the weekend has started, what do you have planned? One thing I will NOT be doing is stressing about Gilenya or thinking about the incompetent people at the doctor’s office. I do like the Nurse Practitioner, but another person in the office I was dealing with this week, I can do without because she has one of the worst personalities. I plan on doing schoolwork, cleaning the house, and reading a book I enjoy. I have been trying to get closer to the outside kitty who had babies recently and her babies, but it will take more time. The poor Mama Kitty had increased rapid breathing yesterday, which I am sure was because it was so HOT. I continue to ensure they have food and fresh water for the kitty family because they deserve that and much more! I am unsure if I should say unfortunately or fortunately, but I am completely in love with all the outside cats. Of course, I love our inside cats as well. I am a push over and all kitties have me wrapped around their little paw🐾!

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing, and safe weekend. I will let y’all know that the temperatures where I live are getting out of control and will probably stay that way until November, and Mother Nature will prove me wrong. Remember, anything unpleasant that happened last week is in the past, and we must leave it there because we cannot change it. Even if several pessimistic outcomes occurred last week, we learned a lesson that can positively impact our lives moving forward. It is better to view the pessimistic outcomes this way because it is optimistic. I am looking forward to reading your comments and will respond as quickly as possible! Please never forget I am always sending y’all LOTS of love❤️, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes🌈!

Always, Alyssa
I’m sorry about the MRI. Up here, they don’t cost anything.

Thank you! Every other developed country has free healthcare, but the states thinks it is best to charge people too much money for everything. It is awful. My husband and I want to move to Canada, especially if Trump is reelected. Honestly, are there many negative aspects to Canada or overall, is it good?

It’s not perfect but it’s pretty good.

I certainly hope it is better than the states. Healthcare here can make you go bankrupt or go without proper healthcare. Plus, is your PM as bad as some say or is he decent?

He’s great. Just a lot of conservative rage farming getting press.

He seems great, and he is easy on the eye😊. Everyone always find a reason to be upset about things, but I highly doubt anything he could do would be as bad as our former president.
