First Day Of Fall

Happy Friday eve! Today is the first day of my favorite season, Fall or Autumn whichever you prefer to call it! This is typically the season when the temperatures are the most reasonable, they are not too hot and not too cold, they are just perfect. Funny that I am saying that because it seems that Mother Nature did not get the memo or she is having a bad day because the temperatures where I live are going to be 94 degrees. Those are stupid summer temperatures, not cool fall temperatures. I am not sure who made Mother Nature made, but I think they need to apologize because this is not the way to begin my favorite season.

What does the autumn season look like to you? What should the As temperatures be? In my opinion, this time of a year should be far less than the mid 90’s because that is what summer is. The leaves should begin to fall and blanket the ground with their beauty. Today, we should be able to say “goodbye” to summer and the insane heat until June! Please do not get me wrong, I do enjoy summertime, but only while I am at the beach with the glorious ocean breeze. The good news is after today, the temperatures will slowly be decreasing to cooler and tolerable kind of weather.

I am not sure how we managed to make it through most of the week, but we did and now we only have one day until the weekend returns. As difficult as it might feel and seem, we did make it through the most difficult part of the week, so I believe the end will be filled with everything happy! I hope y’all find the quote I am sharing and that it provides you the pick-me-up needed to push through one more day! Something that I think is important in this crazy life is that we need to try our best to just slow down and take things one at a time. This is one of the only things that help me to stress a little less.

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you have a wonderful day and you enjoyed what I shared with you today. I am looking forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I can. No matter what happens today or what stressors appear, try to do your best to relax and take things in stride. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Let It Go Friday

We have finally made it through this insanely LONG week and the weekend is to arrive soon. I know it was the same amount of time as every other week, but the past five days have been brutal. Actually, who am I kidding, the past several weeks have been ruthless! The only good thing that came out of this past week was the temperatures have been a little milder. Instead of it being in the high 90’s or low 100’s during the day, it has only been in the high 80’s, which I will take instead of any higher. I do not do well with high temperatures, it makes me completely miserable.

The week is finally over and we will be able to enjoy the weekend. We should be able to do whatever brings us the most joy during the extremely short weekend. I am just delighted that I do not have to sit and stare at a computer screen and get up early the next two days. We can all probably agree that weekdays can create a lot of negative emotions, whether it be work-related or other, we need to be able to let those feelings go. The only thing negative emotions do is cause stress and frustrations, so why bring that into the short weekend? No matter what anyone says, nobody is perfect and they do not have a perfect life. The only thing we can do is try our best and avoid stressing over an outcome we have no control over!

Now that the weekend will be here in a few hours, do you have anything planned? I mentioned the other day that I want to get the daith piercing, but I might wait until my birthday to do it, but who knows? If this is something that truly helps headaches, I cannot see a reason to wait another month. Does anyone have any advice on this? Other than possibly doing that, I have nothing else planned besides recuperating from the week and getting some much needed rest.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared and found the quote helpful. I am looking forward to reading your comments and I promise to respond as quickly as I can. Hopefully, whatever you have planned for the weekend, you will remain safe and do what brings you the most joy. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Sunday thoughts

Full disclosure and I am sorry in advance. I know I am mentioned the following statement multiple times over the years, but it still stands to be true, and I feel is worth repeating. Although life can be complicated and exhausting at times, life is short. No matter what we go through or how overwhelmed we feel, we should never give up and must do what brings us the most joy. We do not need to explain ourselves to anyone because this is our life. Other people may not agree with how we live our life or any of the decisions we make, but no one needs to understand why we made certain decisions. As long as we are not causing harm to anyone else, it should not matter how we are living our lives.

Over the past several years and the first days of knowing what COVID was, and the damning effects it inflicted, many have been stressed and scared. These feelings are normal because COVID has killed so many. I am sure everyone has heard another strain that is more contagious making its way through the world. The new strain BA.5 has caused illness in people that have been vaccinated and boosted, which has been upsetting. However, we all must keep our vaccinations current because, without them, the chances of survival decrease significantly. It does seem as though anytime we think we have seen the last of COVID, something new appears.

I do understand that many people were hesitant about the COVID vaccine when we were first introduced to it, and many refused to get the vaccine because it was so new. We are all entitled to our opinions, but if we look at how many unvaccinated people have died when they got COVID to the number of vaccinated people that had a breakthrough infection and survived, it seems like an easy and logical decision. Scientists have stated that those who get the newest strain of COVID that are vaccinated have experienced less severe symptoms and heal faster than those who are unvaccinated. Recently, a friend of mine got sick with COVID. She has an underlying condition and was double vaccinated and had the booster, she has made a full recovery but might not have if she was not vaccinated. I think the decision to be vaccinated or not is a gamble with our lives and I am not a gambler!

Another issue everyone around the world is experiencing is the unbearable heat! Yesterday I had to go out to do a few things, which I normally do not have to do. The heat was so awful that walking from my front door to the truck caused more dizziness and irritation. Do you wonder why the heat is so out of control? Is there any doubt that global warming is real? The healthiest people in the world cannot tolerate this heat, so for anyone who battles with health issues, it can feel like their life is being sucked out of them. Extreme temperatures have always caused me additional problems with my Multiple Sclerosis, but the extreme heat is making things 100 times more intense. I told my husband yesterday that I am not leaving the house during the day anymore until at least November. I did look ahead at what the weather was going to be like next week and it looks as though more miserable days with heat are coming!

What are some of the most important things in your life? Do you think anyone should have to explain why they love who they love? Does it seem like there is too much hatred filling this world? I am unable to understand hate and I do not think I ever will understand it because, in my opinion, we are all human and deserve to be treated fairly and with compassion. We will never know what someone else is going through in life unless we try. Sometimes a person will have an unpleasant attitude because they are struggling with something in their life, but it is possible they just need someone to understand and offer them love. Do you ever think that being kind to another person might have a HUGE impact on their life and make a difference? I do without a doubt!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you are having a good weekend and staying safe. I am looking forward to reading your comments and hope that you have enjoyed this post. I will respond to all comments as quickly as I can. It is a little sad the weekend is becoming to an end soon and we will be getting ready for another long week, but if we view each week as an opportunity, it might make it a little easier😊! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Relaxing Rainy Sunday Thoughts

As Sunday rolled in and we know Monday will be following behind, we should take this day to relax and ponder thoughts, and prepare for the week ahead! There has been a lot of rain where I live and it included many crazy thunderstorms. My poor cats are terrified of the storms and hide under the bed. Last Thursday, we had an awful storm that knocked trees down, which caused a power outage. Unfortunately, the power when I still had two hours left of my work day causing me to make up the hours on Friday.

Although the rain does increase my pain levels, it does have a relaxing sound. I know we all need rain during these terribly HOT months, but we have had too many consistent days of rain and I have had enough of the atrocious pain. Do you enjoy the rain and the storms it can produce? Does rain make you sleepy and cause extra pain for you? Earlier the rain was so bad, all the cats because scared again and hid under the bed. I believe we are going to be getting more storms next week and I hope it does not knock out the power again.

How do rainy days make you feel? Do you become relaxed and read a good book or do you binge-watch something on Netflix? I prefer to not drive when it is rainy because it makes it hard for me to see. Of course, it increases my pain levels and causes my feet to not work as well with stepping on the gas or brake pedal. I do enjoy it when it rains while I am sleeping because the sound is soothing and it already makes me sleepier. The other good thing about rain is instead of the temperature being in the high 90’s, it has been in the 70’s today. I would rather have cooler temperatures as opposed to the deadly heat!

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you have had an enjoyable and relaxing weekend! The weekends are always so short, but I am thankful for them no matter how short they are. Last week was a “short” week that felt brutally long. It does not make sense why the so-called short weeks feel longer than a normal week, but they always do! I look forward to your comments and will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday, y’all! I hope you had a nice and relaxing weekend! I do not know if it was the heat or fatigue, but I was a little slack from blogging last week. I am going to do my best to back in the swing of things again and do better. It never fails, as the weather causes extremely hot temperatures, I end up feeling more exhausted and my pain levels increase rapidly. I have lived in the south more than 20 years and do not think I will ever get used to how incredibly HOT it gets, but I do think it has been worst in the last decade or so.

I would like to start this new week off being motivated and optimistic. Of course, the weather has been a struggle for me and it has not been easy, but do not want to allow this issue to hold me down. I hope you are going to find the quote I am sharing with you today motivating and it helps to carry you through the days until the weekend returns. I think it is important for us to hold onto our dreams and never let them go. Life is always going to be challenging and we will never stop experiencing difficult times, but our dreams can carry us through them all.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I look forward to reading your comments and will respond as quickly as I can. I hope you have a lovely week and you do not deal with any extra stresses. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support and MANY positive vibes!

Sunday, preparing for next week

Many people do not understand how changes in the weather affect others because it might not have any negative effects on them. During the winter months, the cold weather causes me to tense my muscles more, which causes additional pain. Then during the warmer months, the heat causes several other problems that are uncomfortable to deal with. It never fails when the weather changes with the seasons my body takes time to adjust. It does not just take a few hours to adjust, it can take weeks to adjust until I begin to feel semi-normal.

Currently, the temperatures change daily, and this is not easy for me. Last week there were a few days when the temperatures were mild but rainy. Rain causes increased pain issues, but I can deal with them for the most part. On other days the temperatures were extremely uncomfortable because it was too hot. Unfortunately, next week several days the temperature is going to be pushing 90 degrees, which is far too hot for April.

I have learned how to tolerate different weather better since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis over 20 years ago. I will not say it is easy but decided to not let the weather and the MS control my life. I know life is short and feel strongly we must learn to adjust when things get difficult so we can enjoy life to the fullest.

Do you begin to feel different during the different seasons? If you do, how do you manage? Unfortunately, it is only April and we have not entered summer yet. There is no preparing for the ridiculously hot weather, but I will do my best to not be outside in the hot weather. Like I have done previously when I need to leave the house, I will start my vehicle ahead of time, so it has time to cool down before I drive. I already have dizzy spells randomly, but when I am overheated the dizziness is much more intense.

This weekend I have tried to rest and recuperate from last week as much as possible. I can admit that I have not gotten as much sleep as I would have liked, but I did try. Next week is going to be busy and possibly more exhausting than last week was. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow afternoon and will need to miss a few hours of work but will be making the time up. I am also planning to work two hours of overtime each day.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you were able to enjoy your weekend. Thankfully, the weekend is not over yet and we have a few hours left to rest or do anything else we desire. I look forward to reading your comments and will respond to all comments as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Relaxing Saturday

On Saturday afternoons, we do not have to be tied down by work, chained to a desk in front of a computer, and can be doing anything we want, within reason anyway. Most people want to be out of the house and enjoy the spring weather because we have been trapped inside all week long, which is an unpleasant feeling. The sun is shining, and the birds are singing, what is not to love? There is so much to appreciate about the beauty nature offers all of us and we should try connecting with nature as much as we can.

What do you enjoy most about the spring weather and nature? The flowers are blooming creating beautiful atmospheres but that comes along with miserable allergies. The beauty makes the allergy issues worth it😊 or they do for me! Of course, I have allergies year-round, so the springtime weather is not any worst than the rest of the year. I wake up every morning with my sinuses in out-of-control pain, but there is not much a steaming hot shower cannot fix.

Even though I have been trapped at home all week working in our combined home office, I have no interest in doing anything today because the past two weeks have been extremely exhausting. Unfortunately, even though I could have slept in today, I was still up early. My internal alarm clock never fails to wake me at the same time daily. I wish there was a way to turn it off, but at least I am always awake before the sound of an annoying alarm clock😊.

Considering it is the weekend, I wanted to write and read more than I have been able to during this past week. I think it has a lot to do with feeling overly fatigued because I was not able to think of anything interesting or important to write about. I guess there is always tomorrow because the weekend is not over yet😊. Next week, my favorite author, James Patterson has a new book being released. It is the 22nd book in his The Women’s Murder Club series and I have no doubt it will be fantastic. James Patterson is after all and master with storytelling, and I think has a brilliant mind.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you are enjoying the weekend and doing what brings you the most joy! Many people think of Sunday as a day for rest, but I think of Saturday as a day of rest and Sunday to get things done around the house. I look forward to reading your comments and promise to respond to all of them as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Midweek rain & pain

Happy Wednesday y’all! We have made it through the first half of this week, so we are at the halfway point. How has your week been? I hope you are having a great and safe week. The past few days where I live have had on and off rain, which always makes me feel worse than normal. Of course, when I look at the weather there is rain for many more days this week. The only thing rain does is make my legs and feet, back, and head have more intense pain as if I need any additional pain!

I was planning to do another post about March being Multiple Sclerosis Awareness month, but with my pain being awful I have not been able to yet. Even though I see a lot of rain for this week, I am hoping to be able to do at least one post to explain a little about what Multiple Sclerosis is. Without going into too much detail because my pain is that miserable, I will say one thing about MS, it is the most unpredictable, frustrating, and painful thing I have dealt with in life. Most days I do not get too upset about it, but on the bad days, it feels like a punishment for something I am unaware of.

Recently, I read something about Multiple Sclerosis being more about environmental factors and nothing about our genes. Considering there is not anyone in my family that lives with this disease, I am starting to believe that to be true. I do know already that certain foods increase inflammation and with that being a huge issue with MS, I try avoiding these foods. *I will be explaining this further in another post soon*. I also know for a fact that stress makes issues with MS a lot more intense because it has caused me numerous issues. Weather is another challenge with this mean disease. With all seasons and temperatures changing, my body feels it and does not adapt quickly. Even though I enjoy the sound of rain when I sleep, rain has become one of my enemies!!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I am sorry I was not able to do a more thorough post regarding Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month, but I do promise I will do one before the end of this week. I hope you are doing well and having a lovely week. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Overcome the Winter Blue

We all feel differently about the different seasons. Everyone has their favorite and dreaded season. Currently, in the United States, it has been winter since December 21st and does not end until March 20th. Some states face a lot of snowfall and others, such as the southern states do not get nearly as much. The southern states are not equipped with the necessary equipment, so small amounts of snow cripple the area for days.

Unfortunately, no matter where the state anyone is in, winter can cause people to feel unfavorable feelings, such as their sleep being jeopardized which can lead to feeling sluggish and hopeless. It is thought that the causes of negative feelings during the winter months are due to the lack of sunlight, which disrupts circadian rhythms and the levels of melatonin and serotonin.

If you are someone that does not care for the winter months, there are ways to manage your winter days in a better way. The following are some effective ways to try.

Maintain a proactive attitude. Winter is not a surprise because we know it happens every year. Preparing for winter, before it begins with anything that makes you feel good. You might want to join a gym or anything else that helps you to stay active. I know with COVID joining a gym may make you skeptical and I understand that, but there are safety measures gyms are using to keep their customers safe.

Considering there is less sunlight during the winter months, it is important to increase your levels of Vitamin D. One important thing about Vitamin D is that it helps regulate serotonin levels. You can add into your daily routine a Vitamin D supplement, which can be purchased over the counter. The recommended daily amount is 400-800 I.U. There are also foods that are highly enriched with Vitamin D such as fortified orange juice, tuna, eggs, mushrooms, and of course, milk.

Regardless of the short and darker days, continue with your normal schedule. This means continuing to eat healthy, exercise, and get enough sleep. It also means avoiding staying in bed when it is time to get up, remaining on the couch where you are warm and cozy, and having those late-night snacks. We are all faced with those tasty treat temptations, but we need to think ahead and know how sluggish they will make us feel.

I am just as guilty as anyone else of maintaining a normal schedule and avoiding snacking. The pandemic did not help with the snacking, and I think most people have probably gained weight since the start of the pandemic. Of course, during the winter months, we are mostly wearing baggy clothing which hides the signs of weight gain, but changes can be made for our own good. I am a huge fan of my comfy clothes because they are comfortable and baggy, but then again that is how I like to dress anyway. I guess working from home really did not help that much because I never had to go to an office and get dressed up!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope the information I have shared has been helpful for you or someone you know. I am sure you are glad the week has finally ended and hope you are looking forward to a relaxing and safe weekend. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Life’s Concerns

It is no secret that we have not been able to do anything in several years besides be imprisoned in our home because of COVID. Recently, we were able to get out of our house and the states we live in to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Of course, he loves doing something extremely cold, and I am not that good at, snowboarding. Even though it was bitterly cold and a long drive, it was fabulous to have a change in scenery and freedom from our home.

Now, one small problem is, what do you do when there is a long drive ahead and you despise driving? I never expect my husband to do all the driving a long drive and will always offer to do some of the driving. My husband is aware of my distaste for driving and tries to not have me drive much. I have two reasons for detesting driving. Driving near the huge 18-wheeler trucks is terrifying and it is extremely challenging for me to see at night. My vision causes me to feel worse than a deer in headlights.

As wonderful as it was to be out of our house for the first time in three years, it was still a little concerning due to the increased number of COVID cases. Obviously, being fully vaccinated reduces the risks, but even those that are fully vaccinated have been falling ill with COVID. I prefer to not be another COVID number and worst-case scenario in the ICU fighting for my life. We have made it during all these years with COVID not getting sick, even when our family was.

Dealing with extreme temperatures is problematic for me. I know it is because of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). My body does not acclimate well or fast. Temperatures are one the enemies for me. With colder weather, we can put on more clothing, but it is still a slow process. Then with hot weather, we cannot take off enough clothing to cool down. I have mentioned previously when I deal with colder temperatures, I have heating pads to help and with hot temperatures, I have cooling products that help some.

There will always be challenges in life and we must find ways to handle them. Life is not going to pause because it gets hard. Somedays, life may seem to be painfully long, but logically it is short. We get one chance at life, so making it the best we can is ideal. We need to fight for what we want in life and never give up and surrender to the challenges.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you are having a good week and enjoyed what I have shared today. I am looking forward to reading your comments and will respond as quickly as I can. I hope you are doing everything possible to stay safe! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
