Ways to Spread Positivity

Happy Friday eve y’all! Life has been incredibly challenging throughout the world for several years, but at the worst during the past year or so. It is not only due to dealing with COVID difficulties, but we are also seeing a massive increase in violence and racism, at least this has been a tragic issue in the United States. Most of the issues do not even begin to make sense to me because I still believe that COVD should not have reached the level of anguish it has. As for the violence and racism taking place in the states, it is 2021 and it is well past the time for people to grow with the times and end the unnecessary hatred-fueled circumstances.

We all know people who shine with positivity and we enjoy being around these people, while also find these individuals captivating. Many find a peaceful outlook to be effortless, while others may take a little extra practice to see things in a positive light. The energy we portray not only determines our interactions with others but also speaks volumes about how we feel about ourselves.

Developing a positive mindset is a skill that is well worth the practice it requires. As you begin to shift the way you are thinking, you will start to see amazing new opportunities come your way. You may start feeling better about yourself and the world we are living in, no matter how difficult things may get.

A few ways to have positive energy from the inside out are the following:

1. Make yourself be a priority:

This does not mean you are neglecting others that are in your life, but when we feel good about ourselves, it is much easier to display inner contentment to the world. Looking after your needs and developing a habit to do simple self-care things that make you feel good can make an enormous difference in how you carry yourself.

2. Understand the difference between a FACT and a THOUGHT:

The truth is, we are all human and tend to have less than flattering thoughts regarding ourselves at times. It is important to understand and separate facts from thoughts. An example of a fact is, I had a less than easy conversation or difference of opinion with a friend the other day. The thought might be that this friend thinks differently OR negatively of me now. When we focus on what the facts are, it will help to keep things in perspective and avoid expressing all those negative thoughts that can feel suffocating.

3. Learn ways to be kind to yourself:

We all have days when we feel down and that is okay because it will pass. When we do feel down, we need to learn to recognize and honor our thoughts. Being kind to ourselves can be as simple as repeating one of your favorite quotes that make you feel good and happy. Or, it could be to make an honest effort to treat ourselves with the same compassion we would treat someone we care about.

4. Use positive words more often:

The way we communicate with others has a direct impact on the energy we display. Using words such as love, willing to, solutions, absolutely, great, excellent, interesting, enjoy, etc. will produce a much more optimistic outlook!

5. Smile more frequently:

A smile is an exceedingly small action, but it can make a HUGE difference. Of course, it is not an issue if a smile is not authentic and sincere initially, but you will start to feel happier and friendly shortly and possibly appear more outgoing to others, which allures the positive energy you desire.

6. Work to achieve a goal or goals:

When we work towards accomplishing a goal or more than one goal, if you are feeling extra determined, it can serve as a confidence boost! The people that are around us will be encouraged by our strength and the belief we have in ourselves to achieve our dreams and goals.

7. Offer compliments to others:

When we show appreciation to others it can serve multiple purposes. One purpose is making that person feel good about themselves. The second purpose is this will make us feel good as well, which we are all deserving of those good vibes. Acknowledging when someone does something we admire can be an immediate boost to what we are feeling.

8. Starting living in the moment:

Try doing simple things such as putting your phone away when having lunch or dinner with another person. OR turn the TV off while cleaning the house. Shockingly enough, these distractions prevent us from living in the moment and enjoying the everyday task in life.

9. Practice good posture:

Our posture is a non-verbal way to show how we feel about ourselves. Standing up or sitting straight, shows we are both confident and approachable, which will be a good feeling.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and it helped you some to help spread positivity. Of course, it is not easy with all we are dealing with now, but we can work together and let our light shine onto those around us. A little positivity can go a long way!

Random acts of violence

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to hear about violence taking place in the United States. Anytime we turn on the TV there is at least one, if not more awful things happening. We are constantly hearing about mass shootings, cops killing unarmed people (most often black men), or other acts of violence where innocent people are dying Some people have become desensitized to the various amount of hate-filled violence that occurs, which these acts cause others vast levels of distress and despair.

When you combine isolation due to COVID and feelings of despair from the violence taking place, the emotional impact can be extremely intense. Of course, working from home is great, but I do feel very isolated and like I am on house arrest a lot. Situations like what happened with George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, and countless others murdered by those that are “supposed” to protect and serve, the police cause me to feel anxious and angry and I am not an angry person. The case against Derek Chauvin, the police officer who murdered George Floyd in Minneapolis had me on edge. When I watched the verdict being read it did give me a glimmer of hope, but there is still a lot that needs to be done.

The recent and senseless mass shootings that have occurred in the United States are heart-wrenching. The one on March 16, in Atlanta GA at 3 spas left 8 people dead, 6 of which were women of Asian descent. It has been stated this murder rampage was due to anti-Asian racism, which does not make any sense to me. These women were innocent and simply doing their job to take care of their families. Atlanta, GA is only about two and a half hours from where I live, but these acts can happen anywhere because the levels of hate and racist behavior are exceedingly high. I do not understand why some many Americans have any issue with people of Asian descent because these people are NOT doing anything wrong or causing any harm to anyone else.

Only six days later, on March 22 in Boulder, CO another gunman went on a shooting rampage at a supermarket. This incident left 10 innocent people who were at a grocery store picking up items needed dead. People that knew this 21-year-old gunman said he was prone to anger problems and his arrest record showed where he assaulted a classmate in 2017. It was obvious this person had issues, so why was something not done to help him?

Less than a month later on April 15 in Indianapolis, IN at a FedEx facility a gunman started shooting people in the parking lot before he continued his shooting spree inside the building. This mass shooting left 8 innocent people dead before the gunman turned the gun onto himself. Not to sound insensitive, but if the end result was taking his own life, why did he not just do that in the beginning and leave the innocent people he killed alive?

There are no motives to make sense of these tragic deaths or to make it easier for the 26 families that lost a loved one. Even though there is not anything we can do for those affected by these events, there are ways we can help ourselves to cope better.

We have all been dealing with the pandemic for over a year now, often fearing for our safety, as well as for those we love because this virus is deadly. Then adding mass amounts of violence can shake communities to their foundations. Whether you live in the United States or another country, how do these situations make you feel? Some of us may feel like we are in danger if we just go to the grocery store or other normal activities outside the home. Other common reactions may include numbness and shock, difficulty making decisions, anger, inability to turn off the images seen on the news, tension, anxiety, loss of appetite, headaches, disturbed sleep and bad dreams, and or worry about future mass violence events.

Just knowing about these traumatic situations can be emotionally draining and cause you to feel unstable with typical life challenges. Issues with work, ongoing issues with the pandemic, financial struggles, or just staying on top of our daily activities can feel overwhelming and stressful. Try being kinder, patient, and more understanding with yourself because you are not alone.

Urgent do not forget to take care of yourself. Everyone reacts to these situations differently. It does not matter if an act of violence occurred where you live or on the other side of the world because our mind and body can react as if it were much closer. The following eight tips are ways we can practice self-care.

1. Safeguard your body’s needs by focusing on eating healthy, get proper amounts of sleep, and spending time outdoors.

2. Stay active in ways you are comfortable with. There is no need to push yourself too far and causing any extra stress on your body.

3. Embrace relaxation exercises such as meditation and relaxing breathing techniques.

4. Maintain a consistent bedtime routine to help you relax at night.

5. Collect information regarding the available mental health services and support.

6. Avoid using alcohol and drugs to help you cope.

7. Take the necessary breaks from watching the news on TV and or social media.

8. Give your attention to things you enjoy such as listening to music, walking, writing, other types of arts and crafts.

I know this post was not very uplifting or positive, but these are real issues the world is facing, and they are upsetting me tremendously. I do not like being negative or angry but wanted to bring these issues to everyone’s attention. This was not to upset anyone or ruin your day, so please forgive me.

I want to thank you for visiting my site today and reading this post. I hope you are having a good week and continuing to stay safe! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Inspirational Wednesday

~A Little Inspiration, Can Go A Long Way~

We have already made it halfway through this week, which means there is not much long until we see the weekend again! How is your week going? I do hope you are having a good week and you are staying safe! Of course, sometimes the weeks seem much longer than they are and all we can do is keep trying. We might be going through challenging times, but we do still have a lot to be thankful for and just need to focus on that.

Considering all of us are still dealing with various struggles, I think a little inspiration might help us through some of those times. With all the stresses that COVID has put on us all, it is hard to remember that someday things will get better. There are also so many built-up frustrations and hatred blanketing the world, which we can help by being kind and understanding. Of course, no one knows exactly when things are going to improve, but that is where hope and determination come into place. I do realize how difficult it is staying home all of the time and when we do finally leave the safety net of our homes we have to wear masks but all troubles, and struggles will someday dissipate, and we will have so much to be proud of because we made it. It is easy to want to throw your hands up and give up, but the strong people I know we all are will not just give up without a fight!

I hope your week is going well and you are remaining safe, and not having any extra stresses added onto you. Life has never been easy and we do all face numerous complications, but somehow we make it through them all. Our strengthens build character and further perseverance for which we should feel gratification. I know how difficult life can be, I mean I was diagnosed with a debilitating illness when I was still a teenager and did not let it deter me from trying to achieve my goals in life.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed the quote I shared with y’all and it provided you a little inspiration! I am looking forward to reading what you thought about the quote and everything else I have shared with y’all today. I promise to respond to all comments as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Leave Our Mark On This World

We all leave a mark on this world and it is our choice what that mark is. I think it is important to remember that tomorrow is not promised to any of us, so we never know when our time on this earth will end. It has always been in my mind and thought process, we need to live each day as if it were our last day here in this world. The way we treat others might stay with that person long after we are gone and leave that person feeling down about themselves. We need to treat others with respect and love, instead of disrespect and ugliness.

I try to always view things from other’s perspectives. It is noticeably clear that everyone is different, which makes each experience we encounter a way to learn and grow. Of course, we are not going to agree with everyone’s way to view situations, but we can try to understand other viewpoints. Everything we undergo during our lifetime should continue to make us better than we were yesterday and help us to be more compassionate and empathetic.

It is crucial to decide how we want to be remembered because we only get one chance at this life. We do not have a rewind or a pause button, so the way we behave will be our legacy. We often fail to remember how short life is because we become desensitized to reality. In the United States alone, there have been over 510,000 deaths due to COVID-19 and yet there are still so many that are not taking this deadly virus as seriously as it needs to be.

If I were to ask you what you want your legacy to be, what would you say? Without having to think about it too deep, I know I want my legacy to be kind, compassionate, understanding, empathetic, fair, and thoughtful. I have always been the kind of person that puts everyone else’s needs ahead of my own and would stand up for anyone that could not stand up for themselves. In a world that seems to be increasingly full of hatred and greed, I do the best I can to not live my life under those terms.

2020 began under uncertain times due to the pandemic. I feel strongly that people showed their true colors, and they were not pretty colors. We all knew a virus was spreading rapidly throughout the world and to decrease the spread, certain things needed to occur. Staying home for a few weeks should not have been a challenging thing to do. I know how isolating staying at home felt, but it was these small sacrifices that could have made a huge difference.

When most people refused to just stay home for a few weeks, wearing masks was the next step. Of course, wearing a mask is not comfortable and feels rather suffocating, but to keep the spread limited it was necessary. I do not think many people understood that wearing a mask was to help keep others safe from the virus but to keep ourselves safe as well. There were many asymptomatic COVID carriers. This just means they did not have any of the typical COVID symptoms but were infected with the virus and spreading the virus to anyone they encountered.

As we are all still struggling to get COVID under control, many have been able to get vaccinated. Unfortunately, there is still a vast majority of the population that have not been vaccinated yet and are waiting for their time. To add more devastation to the world, the COVID virus has mutated into other variants. Regrettably, viruses naturally mutate over time, so it was not only a matter of when but how many others there would be. At this time, there are already three variants that are being researched. There is no way to know if everyone that was vaccinated from the COVID-19 virus will be safe from these other types or not.

As I just stated, there are already three variants to the COVID virus. Considering they are still new, there is so much to learn and there are knowledgeable scientists doing the research. Of course, wearing a mask is one of the best ways to avoid contracting these viruses, but it is still unsettling. I wanted to share a map of what viruses are in each state as of now. Please understand and remember how quickly COVID spread and know these variants will spread just as fast or faster.

I think if we have learned anything from COVID-19, it is awful things can and will happen. We would probably be naïve to think there will never be another pandemic again because it can happen at any time. At this point, it is not a matter of if it will happen again, it is when and will we be ready. My hopes are the world leaders will act accordingly and operate in a matter to save lives, instead of trying to downplay the situation.

I want to thank you for visiting my site today. I know you might not agree with everything I wrote and that is okay, but I would love the chance to read your comments. I can promise you that I will respond to all comments as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Chaos & Tragedy in the United States

We Need To Stop The Hate & Violence Now

Happy Sunday y’all! Before you start reading this, I just want to provide you wait a small DISCLAIMER/WARNING. I do the best I can to not write about politics, but this is about more than simple politics. I think y’all know by now I try to be open-minded, fair, kind, compassionate, and understanding, which is why this was so important for me to share. I know you might feel differently about tis, but I would really love to read and understand what your thoughts are.

The continued insanity that is going on within the United States is disgusting and shameful. The way people are following the idiotic ideas they are hearing from the president is not only awful but inhumane. Who would have thought our nation’s capital could be invaded so easily?  These people were domestic terrorists that were fueled by the hatred from the president of The United States.

This tragic display of repugnance was not how decent and logical people behave. The way Donald Trump has encouraged his cult followers to act is repulsive. Besides, 5 people being left dead after the riot that took place at the Nation’s Capital on Wednesday, more than 50 people were arrested so far, and for what? On January 20th, Joe Biden is still going to be sworn in as the 26th president and Donald Trump will be gone.

The violence and brutality that we all witnessed on Wednesday was very upsetting and never should have happened. Of course, I did not know anyone involved personally, but none the less it was awful to see. A leader of a county should NOT be instilling hatred and violence but should be promoting peace and equality. After all, this is The United States of America and was known as the land of the “free”. Throughout history, former presidents have not stimulated violence and rage but tried keeping the peace among the citizens. I cannot help but wonder why so many are okay with Trump’s behavior to the point they would storm a federal building and create mass amounts of destruction.

Over this past year, there have been countless situations that should have been handled in a better way. The government knew about COVID-19 and did not share the information with the American people. Donald Trump decided to place the blame for this virus on China, instead of taking responsibility for the safety of the people he represented. I understand COVID-19 started in China, but President Xi of China shared his concerns with the world and yet Donald Trump was more concerned with being re-elected than caring for the lives of the people.

I do not like to write about political things because it tends to be a VERY HOT topic with people, but this past Wednesday was very upsetting to me. Never in a million years would I thought what took place this past week would have ever happened in a building that is so protected. With Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20th, I am worried we are going to see much more chaos and violence, but I hope there will be much better planning to protect the innocent. I will never understand why Donald Trump has so much hate within him, but sadly since his favorite toy, Twitter have been taken away from him, I think there is a chance his toddler like behavior will get worse in the next week or so. I think we all know that this man child tweets about everything and his cult followers enjoy all of his heinous words.

This post is a lot different from what I normally write about, but these issues weigh heavily on my mind and heart. I do the best I can to avoid the news because I cannot seem to make it through a segment without crying. I have always dreamed of world peace and a very small part of me still has hope that we can someday experience this, but the logical part of me realizes our chances for world peace are slim. The world is too full of hate and while much of this hate is intensified by the current president, some people are just miserable and enjoy spreading this hate.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I do know that some of you are not going to agree with one word of this post and while I might not understand the logic behind this, I will respect your opinions. The great thing about what the United States is supposed to stand for is, we are free to think and believe what we want to. Please know regardless of if you agree or disagree, I will always be sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and many positive vibes!
