Happy Sunday, y’all! I hope you had a good week and are looking forward to a weekend involving only what brings you the most joy. Last week was an extremely long and difficult week for me, but some of that is because I had a miserable migraine for numerous days in a row. The evil and relentless migraine started midday on Wednesday and did not start easing up until late Saturday. I am not sure how I managed to work while battling with this migraine, but I refused to let it win, which I am not sure if that was determination or stubbornness on my part.

I might not have any control over when the migraines will occur or how severe they may be, or the duration, but I can control how I react to them. I ended up turning my work monitors on dark mode because anything bright made the head pain much worse. I only wish I had the ability for those days to turn the sun off because it was too bright, blinding, and shining through the windows while all I needed was darkness.
I am not sure why migraines happen to people. They can be so intense and hardly anything helps them. It seems like a major punishment for something terrible! It seems like one day, someone with nothing better to do and was unhappy about something in life decided to invent something that would ruin someone’s day and make them miserable. This appears to be the only reasonable explanation that could explain the reason for them. With as many of them as I must endure, I do not think I would wish any of them on anyone, well, I am sure I could think of a few people that are deserving of something so treacherous😊.

The other day, my husband mentioned a few stories to me that he heard on the news, and they are definitely the reasons why I must avoid the news. What he told me was some of the most appalling information I have heard in a long time. There are only a handful of things that will get my blood boiling to what is probably a very unhealthy level. I do understand there is not much we can do about many of the issues in the world, which makes me even more upset. If only I had a magic wand and could use it to make the world a better, happier, and safer place to live, I would in a heartbeat! Unfortunately, I do not have a magic wand and cannot make any changes to the way things are in this world, the only thing I am able to do is to respond to situations in a calmer manner, and not lose my temper with nonsense.

As we have all heard, the United States overturned Roe vs. Wade, which had been in place for more than five decades. Sadly, after the abortion ban that occurred in many states, there was a 10-year-old child raped. The state where she lives made it, so she was unable to get an abortion. This young girl’s family had to drive her to the next state over, where she was able to get an abortion. This rape was not the young girl’s fault, and she should never have been treated this way. This young girl was traumatized by her rapist and traumatized all over again dealing with ignorant politicians mandating policies they do not have the right to do! Why does anyone believe they have a right to control another human being and what they can and cannot do with their own body? Do these people not understand what it means to live in a free country or maybe it is me that does not understand?

Another story my husband heard on the news troubled me immensely was regarding a state representative in Missouri. While this representative was debating a bill concerning gender-affirming care for transgender children, he also wants to present a proposal that implies children as young as 12 years old should be allowed to get married. I am not sure if this representative has children or even understands what children should be doing when they are 12 years old, but I DO NOT believe that getting married is one of them. No 12-year-old child has the maturity level to get married and settle down. The divorce rate in the United States is evidence that even some adults are not mature enough to get and stay married. Regardless of anything a law states, what kind of parent would allow their child to get married at age 12?

I understand I get extremely vocal and upset about things pertaining to our rights and that in a truly free country, we would have the right to choose how we live our lives. We should be able to love who we love, be who we are without retribution, make choices about our bodies without any regulations prohibiting it, and we should be able to live in this world without fear of another mass shooting. Why is it impossible to turn on the news and not hear about another mass shooting? We hear about some mass shootings nearly daily, which is causing people to become desensitized to the situation. Instead of becoming desensitized to the problem we are seeing, we should be demanding changes from our government.

With numerous problems in what is said to be the richest and most powerful countries in the world, how are we to expect positive changes? In a country where politicians do nothing but lie and only care about money, how are we supposed to believe anything that they say? What are we supposed to do when we are not able to trust those that are in power and are able to make the changes that are needed? There are so many people that are continuing to bring innocent lives into a very damaged world, and I am not able to see the reason. Is there still hope for a country full of hate and failing dreams?

Thank you for visiting my site today. As you have just read, I have had a lot of my mind, all while dealing with what seemed like a never-ending migraine. Do any of these issues make sense to you and please if they do, would you be able to explain them to me? I do hope you have had a nice and relaxing weekend. I do look forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as possible. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Always, Alyssa
