Living life with a chronic illness is definitely not easy. But I do my best to push through all the barriers this illness puts in front of me! In my heart and mind, I believe maintaining a positive outlook on all situations in life will carry us through to much better times! I hope you find the information that I provide both helpful and inspirational!
For those that view their pets more like a member of their family, it is easy to develop a close, long-lasting, and loving bond with them. Animals have amazing intuition and instincts of how we are feeling at any given time. I can speak from experience considering the fact I live in constant pain, and I have noticed my cats seem to be aware of where I am hurting.
Unfortunately, I do not think animals are given credit for their abilities and too many are not loved and respected the way they should be. I detest seeing stories about animals being mistreated and abused because none of them deserve this type of treatment. I will never understand why some people have pets when they are not willing to care for them and provide them with a loving and safe home. My cats are spoiled rotten, and I would rather ensure they have food than myself having what I need.
Recently, I had to miss work due to increased pain. I have always known that pure love from our cats can make anything better, but they took it to a new level last week😊! While I was out of work I had the best kind of medicine ever, it was personal and dedicated kitty therapy😊! We have three cats and they all participated in helping me to rest and feel better. When I have a terrible headache, which happens frequently, our cats think they can make it better by laying on or near my head and purring so sweetly! They typically will lay on whatever part of my body is hurting and can help that pain so much.
Many people only view cats as small creatures that cannot protect their owners and do not see how special they are or think of them as an annoyance. There are numerous ways that a cat helps people. A cat’s purr can relieve stress, feelings of anxiety, and depression. Your cat’s purr can help you to heal from illness faster and to live a happier life! Cats are better than any human doctor or psychologist.
Anytime I am having a bad day, am stressed, or upset our cats can sense something is wrong immediately. I remember when I was devastated when I was laid off from my job, our cats did everything they could to console me, laying on my lap and purring! It seems to bother them tremendously when they see me crying and it almost makes them just as sad.
Do you have any pets, and do you consider them your family? If you have any pets, do you feel they help you feel better daily? There is no denying the fact that animals love unconditionally and are more loyal than most humans. What I do not understand is why so many animals are abandoned and mistreated because all they need is love. When humans are mistreated and or abused by another human, the abuser faces serious criminal charges, right? In my opinion, a human that abuses or neglects an innocent animal should face criminal consequences just as seriously as if they were abusing another human.
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you are enjoying your weekend and you found some meaning in what I have shared today. I would love to read you comments and will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
We have finally made it through this week and I am so glad the weekend has nearly arrived! It has without a doubt been a long week and there was a lot of rain towards the end of the week. There are various reasons that I am thankful to not live in Florida, but they were, unfortunately, hit with another massive hurricane and I am sure they were still picking up the pieces of the last hurricane they experienced. We are far enough from the coast where we live to not be in too much danger, but we are dealing with heavy rain and high winds which can and have caused problems previously.
After a long week, most of us have dealt with some frustrations and I think we should use Friday as a day to let go of all the negativity. There is no use in bringing the negative issues from the week into the very short weekend because we need time to enjoy life! Tuesday was the midterm elections in the United States. Of course, politics is always a HOT topic because everyone has an opinion that they think is correct. My husband and I did vote, but of course, we live in a state that always elects those we disagree with. We have watched some of the outcomes from the election and personally I am embarrassed for the people that were either re-elected or elected into office because they are a disgrace. This has caused me to feel slightly negative emotions, but I am trying to let it go and forget about it because, besides to vote, there is nothing I can do to change things with the system.
Do you have any plans for the weekend? One thing I know for sure is, I am not working this weekend, so I do not have to get up super early! I have a few ideas of things I want to write about and some posts that I should finish over the weekend. That is my plan at least, but things can always happen and change the plans. What I will say is I am so happy that it is Friday because I have been waiting for it since Monday morning. It is a little sad that I have waited for Friday the entire week and now that it has arrived it will fly by super fast and before I can blink an eye, I will be back to looking forward to the weekend!
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed this post and you have a wonderful day! I am looking forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I can. Whatever you do this weekend, please stay as safe as you possibly can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
I try my best to never miss work, especially considering I work from home, but I did have to miss work yesterday. I have been dealing with increased pain and dizziness for several days, which I am assuming has to do with the constant weather changes because my body takes time to adjust so when the weather changes too frequently, I do not have time to adjust. The weather changes tend to wrack havoc on my body and make me miserable, but I should be used to this after over 20 years of living with Multiple Sclerosis.
It has always been difficult for me to call out of work sick because I end up beating myself up about it and think I should have just pushed myself a little harder. Missing work yesterday took a lot for me to do, but I will say I needed the time to take care of myself, which has never been something I was good at doing. I am much better as the caretaker of others than I am at taking care of myself. Even though I hated missing work, I will say that my amazing supervisor was understanding and a few of my co-workers even sent me messages to check on me. I guess you can say, I work with some incredible and very caring people😊!
We have made it through the majority of the week and only have a couple of days left before the weekend returns. With that said, I think we could all use a little pick-me-up to help us through the final part of the week! I hope you will enjoy the quote that I am sharing with you today and that it provides you with the fight to get through the last part of this week! The worst thing we can do to ourselves is to be an obstacle and get in our way of success because we are better than that and deserve more. We are strong and amazing individuals with much determination and strength! Of course, we all need a reminder of this!
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you have had a good week and you are feeling well. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared today and you found the quote helpful to get through the rest of the week. I am looking forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
At this point, I am not sure how we survived Monday. The day itself was not too bad, just another Monday and fighting against getting used to the time change. It really should not be too hard because we did gain an hour of sleep, but the change to sunlight is a little challenging. Of course, regardless of when the alarm clock is set to go off, I am always awake before it has the chance to make that awful and piercing sound. Needless to say, I was awake for more than an hour before my alarm was going to go off. Super annoying, but it will get better.
The strangest thing happened to me last night and I still do not understand it. It was close to 9:00 PM and suddenly, I had this intense pain in my lower back and abdomen. This pain was so awful I was on the floor unable to move and catch my breath. It felt similar to the MS Hug, but MUCH worst. I have dealt with the MS Hug many times before and it was never as bad as things got last night. My husband was so concerned he wanted to take me to the emergency room, but I refused because I was hoping it would get better. I felt so terrible, I hardly could eat dinner.
I guess the only good thing about living with Multiple Sclerosis is it pushes me to limits I never knew I had. I know this evil disease is not going away anytime soon, so the only choices I have is to fight hard or give up. The choice is clear because I refuse to surrender to this disease. It may win the battle at times, but I am going to win the nuclear war we are battling. I strongly believe that the only way I can fail with Multiple Sclerosis is to let it win and do whatever it wants. For as long as I am still able to breath, I will continue pushing my limits and prove that I am too strong to lose.
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you have enjoyed this post and it provided you with the determination and peace to keep pushing forward. Trust me, it is NOT easy to push your limits, but it may surprise you as to what you can accomplish in this life. I am looking forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
Monday is never exciting, but it is always slightly challenging. The only difference about today is it is the first Monday after the time change. The time change that occurred over the weekend allowed us to sleep in an extra hour, which should have been nice. I did not sleep any later and ended up getting up even earlier. Crazy, right? The time change also means it will get light earlier in the morning and dark earlier in the evening.
For those affected by the time change, the days will start getting shorter and shorter. The good news for those in the United States is, the time change could be ending. The US Senate passed legislation that will make daylight savings permanent starting in 2023. This would end the twice-annual changing of the clocks in a move for brighter afternoons, which is called the “Sunshine Protection Act”. This has yet to be signed by the President, so this could change. Who knows what will end up happening?
The adjustment to the time change does not have to be massive or unpleasant. The following tips are a few ways we can keep up with the changing time.
Regardless of the shorter days, continue to try staying active as possible. Continue doing the things that bring you joy and contentment. Put extra effort into seeing the people you care about and continue your normal exercise regimen if you have one😊!
Stay visible after dark:
If you have always had outdoor activities at night, such as evening walks with a friend or pet, make sure to carry a flashlight and wear reflective clothing. These simple practices will keep you safe at night so oncoming cars will be able to see you.
Sunrise change does not need to affect your sleep:
The late afternoon and evening darkness can make it easy to feel fatigued earlier and make you want to change your routine. The earlier sunrise may wake up earlier than you need to be awake, which can be frustrating. To avoid the earlier sunrise disturbing your sleep, you can try wearing an eye mask or installing blackout blinds in your bedroom.
Try getting more sunlight later:
When we allow ourselves to get more sunlight in the evenings, it may help our body to adjust to a slightly later bedtime. We are only adjusting our internal clock by one hour, so it should not take too long to adjust and feel normal😊.
Adjust your melatonin regimen:
Once a few days have passed, we should begin feeling normal again. Melatonin plays a big role in our circadian rhythm. If you are already taking melatonin and find the time change too difficult, you can discuss the issue with your doctor and follow their advice.
I hope you found the tips I have suggested helpful in adjusting to the time change. This is always something that I struggle with because my internal clock never stops. I guess that explains why I was awake much earlier than necessary over the weekend. If you have any other suggestions for adjusting to the time change, please share as I am sure everyone reading this would be interested. I hope you have a wonderful day! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
It is another Monday that returned way too quickly. Even though it seemed much shorter than normal, I hope you were able to enjoy your weekend. The weather where I live cannot seem to decide if it wants to be warm or cold, so I am still trying to adjust to the weather. Every year, I have a difficult time feeling okay until the weather stabilizes and remains constant. For some reason, this year has been very complicated and I am dealing with more headaches and other types of pain. I can only hope that Mother Nature will make up her mind soon so that my suffering can end!
Starting a new week and saying goodbye to the weekend is never easy. This can make it twice as hard to find motivation to tackle the new week. I do hope the quote that I am sharing with you today will provide you with some motivation and help you survive the first day of the week. Once we get through today, it can only get easier or at least that is what I keep telling myself! To be motivated, we must discover hope and hold onto it.
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared and I look forward to reading your comments. I promise that I will respond to all comments as quickly as I can. I hope you have an amazing start to this week and each day gets even better until the weekend returns again. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
The United States has been suffering from mass levels of toxicity for decades. Unfortunately, there have been and continue to be numerous issues that are engulfing most of us living in the United States. These toxic behaviors and thoughts are seeping into the rest of the world daily. The catastrophic events and issues Americans have faced end up being shown on the news for the entire world to view, which is shameful and a complete disgrace. It is tragic as an American to know about the devastations we are enduring, mostly due to those with bad intentions that are full of anger and hatred. Sadly, many have become desensitized, and the pain others are experiencing does not cause them any distress☹.
One issue that appears much worst in the United States than in any other country is gun violence. In other countries, when there was one case of gun violence, the country took the proper measures and banned guns for everyone. In the United States, you are unable to watch the news or read articles on any news outlets without seeing about shootings with or without casualties. There have been numerous school shootings in the United States and this needs to stop. Children and teens should never have easy access to a gun of any kind. If a parent or another adult in the household chooses to have a gun, they should take necessary safety measures.
Many Americans seem to believe because it is the 2nd Amendment is the right to bear arms that everyone deserves to own a gun, but there need to be more laws that are followed. We do not have to be in war times with each other or anyone else. There also needs to be more education involved regarding the purchase of a gun and gun ownership. An individual who has mental health issues and is a threat to themselves or others or has a criminal record should not be able to own a weapon, which I know is already a law, but it needs to be enforced much better. I do know of at least one person that has a criminal record of violence and the person was able to not only purchase a gun but was also given a concealed weapon permit.
Another major issue that seems to be much worst in the United States is the opioid crisis. I have wondered why this seems to be the case and what I have discovered was not too surprising. The people that are to blame for this crisis are the greedy pharmaceutical companies pushing the dangerous and addictive medications, the doctors who are overprescribing these drugs, and the drug dealers who are selling fentanyl. Of course, many people are suffering from chronic pain due to illnesses or are gravely ill due to cancer. Unfortunately, some are addicts and careless. The overdose death rate in the United States is twice as much as in any other country in the world. Preventable opioid deaths are occurring among individuals between the age of 25 to 54. The overdose deaths of those older than 55 are increasing rapidly. The drug dealers that are pushing the extremely deadly drug fentanyl are out of control which has been the cause of 80% of the overdose deaths in 2022.
A very controversial issue in the United States is abortion. This was a legal action for women for almost 50 years. I am not saying that I am pro or against abortion, but I am pro-freedom. This includes for a woman to have the freedom to decide what she does with her own body. You can probably say that I am pro-choice! If a woman gets pregnant after unprotected and consensual sex and can admit she does not have the means to provide for a child or she is raped and decides she cannot carry her rapist’s child, it is her body and her choice to terminate the pregnancy. If the United States wants to continue saying we are a free country, then a woman should be free to her body. Doctors and the government should not be in control of a woman’s body in a free country!
Mental health has been a critical issue in the United States for many decades. There is a very negative stigma that surrounds mental health causing people to feel shame and afraid to try getting help. Even when a person decides they want help, there are limited resources for them to do so. Once they can locate a facility that offers the help they desperately need, the wait list is so long, and the expenses are too high causing them to give up. We need more places to be readily available and affordable to help those who are suffering silently from mental health issues. We need to find ways to remove the negative stigma and be more open to anyone with mental instabilities. This could be a solution that may prevent mass shootings and suicide.
The United States is the only developed country that does not offer free healthcare, but instead, the cost is on a steady and consistent rise. The increase in the cost of healthcare in 2022 was 6% and is expected to increase another 5%. This is ludicrous and unacceptable! The United States is the wealthiest country in the world by a long shot. With this fact, why can healthcare not be a free right for everyone? So many people cannot afford healthcare in America and therefore are left to suffer from ailments and diseases. Even those with expensive healthcare still nearly can go bankrupt due to all the other costs. In a country with outlandish wealth, no human being should ever have to suffer from illness or disease without affordable healthcare.
In my entire 41 years in the world, I have only lived in the United States. I have lived in the northern and southern states, so I do not know if equality is an issue in other countries but do know it is a major issue in the United States. People are judged and treated differently based on where they are from, the color of their skin, religious beliefs, political following, and who they love. None of this makes sense to me and never will. We are all human beings and while I do have my strong views on certain things, I do not judge or think negatively about how others view things or how they live their lives. I only judge and feel a certain way about others based on how they treat other people. I wish everyone from sea to shining sea could learn ways to express love and acceptance more because hate is only going to destroy the planet, we are sharing.
As broken as the country and system appear, there must still be hope for it to be better. The good and honest men that fought for this country many years ago should not have risked their lives in vain. Mine and my husband’s late Grandfathers were a couple of these amazing, strong, and kindhearted men who fought for this country. Their risks along with countless others should be remembered and we should be doing better for people like them and stop the evil hatred the world is conflicted with. Hatred and misery will never do anything positive for anyone, but they will damage the people we love.
Thank you for visiting my site today. Even though what I have shared was emotional and safe, I do hope you found it interesting. I am aware not everyone is going to agree with every word of this post, but this is how I feel about things in the country I live in, and it breaks my heart. I wish the world could be filled with love and compassion, but I do not have any control over how others behave and can only control myself. We do not have to agree with our family or friends, but we need to be respectful of their feelings. I am looking forward to reading your comments and will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
Hello Sunday! I hope you have been enjoying the weekend and you are feeling well. Even though I knew we were supposed to turn the clocks back an hour before we went to bed last night, I completely forgot to do so. Of course, for some reason that is unknown to me, I did wake up every hour on the hour since 3 AM. Needless to say, I did not sleep well last night. Honestly, I think one reason I did not sleep well is that I was ridiculously HOT. It is early November and I do not think we should be experiencing warm temperatures, but it appears that until Tuesday it is going to be a little too warm. Tomorrow the high is going to be 80 degrees and then it will begin to get cooler again.
What do you think about the time changes? We do have to do this twice a year and I look forward to a day when we do not have to do this because it throws me off each time. I have never understood why most states in the US this does because there are a couple that does not participate in the time change. If I am not mistaken, most other countries do not participate in time change, which makes sense to me. I have heard this is going to be the last year of time change in the United States, but I guess we will see because things are always changing!
I had a doctor’s appointment last week with my pain management doctor, which always goes the same way. I did explain to the Nurse Practitioner something new that I have been feeling for the past few weeks because I wanted to know her opinion as to what could be going on. Every morning, for the past several weeks my feet and ankles have been so painful that it is hard to stand up. I did not want to let my MS specialist know about this issue because she would more than likely want me to have an MRI and she never has any good news. The Nurse Practitioner said that it sounded like arthritis, so that was not the best news, but she might not be correct, and it could be worst if I had told my specialist.
Thank you for visiting my site today and reading my Sunday thoughts. Anyone reading this that has MS, have you ever heard about a connection between MS and arthritis? If you have, what treatments have you read or heard will help this pain? I am looking forward to reading your comments and I will respond to all comments as quickly as possible. I hope you have a nice day, and you are preparing for the new week that will begin tomorrow. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
We made it through Monday, so I believe the rest of the week will be a breeze! How was your first day of the week? Mine was not too bad, but it did feel long. I think it was only long because I am working longer days because I have to leave work early on Wednesday because of my doctor’s appointment. The good thing about working longer days is I get to start my day earlier, which I do prefer. My preference does not make sense to many people, but I would rather start earlier and get out of work earlier!
I think it is extremely important to remain positive during the week, but also try to stay calm and not let the simple things consume our minds. It is important to have patience in life, which I do not have, but I do try. Even though patience is important, it is also crucial to go after the things we want in life because life is short and we do not want to let amazing opportunities pass us by. Whether it is something at work or something we have dreamed about doing, we should try to go after it with passion, strength, and determination.
I have decided to do something that I think is exciting. I already told y’all about the daith piercing that I wanted and got recently. There is another piercing that I would like to do soon, like hopefully this week. The helix is another piercing that is in the ear and I think it is very adorable. Unfortunately, one of the places I was considering going to will not pierce this area with the hoop as I want, so I will probably go back to the overpriced place that did my daith. Hopefully, they will be able to use the same color jewelry that I have in the daith! I figure, why not, we only live once and piercings can be removed easily!
Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I shared and you found meaning in the quote. I hope you have a great day and remember to pace yourself so that you do not get overly and unnecessarily stressed. I am looking forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
