Inspirational Wednesday

We have made it halfway through this week, so the second half of the week should be much easier, or at least we should hope it will be! Monday is always the most difficult day to get through because we are coming off the weekend and beginning another long week. Tuesday tends to be the leftovers from Monday. How has your week been up until now? My week has not been awful, but since the weather is getting cooler and my body is adjusting to the colder temperatures. I have had increased pain and for some reason more dizzy spells, which might have been caused by lack of sleep.

Now that we have already made it through two days this week and have a couple left before the weekend returns, I think we all need a little inspiration to help! I hope the quote I have shared with you today inspires you and helps you remember everything will work out when it is meant to. We cannot rush the way things happen because everything happens for a reason and it does help to hold onto faith and patience! Life is a journey, so just try to enjoy it😊!

I hope you have an amazing day😊! I am looking forward to reading your comments and the quote I shared resonates with you. It may be after I am done with work, but I will respond to all comments as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Motivational Monday

Monday has returned again and is a little too fast! Is it awful that it seems like it was just Friday yesterday? The weekends fly by and it often seems like we did not really have a full weekend. I guess, ready or not, it is time to begin another new week. I do hope your weekend was spent doing only what brings you the most joy and you were able to rest up yesterday to prepare for the week! My weekend was rather boring, but yet, I still did not get enough rest. I am looking forward to seeing what opportunities this week will provide though!

I believe the only way to start a new week is to try to be as optimistic and hopeful as possible. Of course, we all wish there was just one more day of the weekend, but it would be the same even if we had a three-day weekend! They are just never long enough. I hope the quote I am sharing with y’all today motivates you and provides you with the hope we all need. I do believe it is important to hold onto our dreams because if we do not give up they can become reality!

I hope your week begins well and only gets better with each day that passes. In our lives, we need to stay determined and we can achieve anything we want. I believe we are all capable of great things because we are all incredibly strong. If we keep our heads held high and believe in our abilities, we are halfway there! If you think about what you have already done in life, you will see how strong you are!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared and I am looking forward to reading your comments. I promise to respond to all comments as quickly as I can. I hope you have an amazing day and remember to not get too stressed about anything you have no control over. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

~My Sunday Thoughts~

Sunday is the end of the weekend, which means we are starting to prepare for the upcoming week. Yes, I know we would all prefer to have an extended weekend, but even the long weekends never feel like enough! Even if you did not do anything exciting over the weekend, I hope you were able to get some well-deserved rest, so that you are as ready as you can be for the week that awaits us. With as exhausted as I was after last week, I still did not manage to catch up on any sleep. It never fails, no matter what time I go to bed, I still wake at the same time every day.

It is hard to depend on people because it just sets us up for disappointments, which is hard on the body, mind, and heart. I think we are lucky if we have a handful of people in our life that we know will never disappoint because they are true to their word and mean what they say. It is sad how many people have forgotten what it feels like to be let down by someone they care about or they do not care how others feel as much as they should. One of my mottos is to always treat others the way I want to be treated because I never want to cause someone pain from something I failed to do.

Are there certain things in life that you believe strongly in and they mean a lot to you? If you were in a crowded room and most people disagree with you, would you still stand up for what you believe or give in just to get along with everyone? Would you rather stand alone or be different? My answer to this will never change because I would rather be different rather than go against something that I believe in. I think being different is much better than being a sheep and not defending your beliefs!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared and it all resonated with you. I hope you had a nice and safe weekend, and I look forward to reading your comments. I will respond to all comments as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Opinion overload

Politics has been and always will remain a HOT topic. Political conversations can fuel passionate discussions that can lead to vehemently fierce arguments. Disagreements involving politics have destroyed and dismantled relationships of all types. I do understand that everyone has an opinion, which is their right, but I do not think it should create as much hostility and friction as it does. Unfortunately, the truth is none of us have any control over what happens in the political world. I may not be correct, but I do believe the only consistency with most politicians is they all have a difficult time understanding what the truth means.

Many people have their views and thoughts on certain topics engrained in them. I do not mean these thoughts were built into them from birth because as we grow, we determine our world views. My personal views on many of the HOT topics, we have all been told not to discuss with family and friends are very different from my mother who raised me. Honestly, the reason for my political views is that I am a true believer in equality, and I do not judge people based on anything besides their treatment of others.

November is the mid-term election, so there is a lot of talk going on regarding this now. The one that is standing out in my mind currently is the candidates in Georgia. The person that is running for the US Senator on the Republican side, Herschel Walker, makes my blood boil. The things that have come out of his mouth have been clean and bald-faced lies and he is against everything that I believe in. I do not understand how a so-called “man” that has paid for a woman to have an abortion can now be against it, even in cases of rape and incest. The man is a hypocrite and a disgrace to humanity.

Most of the politicians in the United States after from a much older generation and are stuck in the past. They have not evolved to the level the country requires. Once these politicians get to a certain again, they should be forced to retire and allow the younger generation an opportunity. Of course, certain people are still in office as senators or governors that I strongly dislike because their views are still from another time, and I think they are not only disrespectful but extremely offensive. The United States is “supposed” to be a free and welcoming place, but in my opinion, is anything but what it “claims” to stand for.

It breaks my heart to see on the news the constant and unnecessary violence. There is NO logical or rational reason for people to fear going to public places because of random shootings. I was ignorant of the level of hatred in the country I live in for most of my life, but now I see that it has always been an issue. It seems like the problems we are suffering from have a band-aid put on them, but they are just a temporary fix and NOT an actual solution.

Situations regarding abortion and gay marriage are topics that enrage me. The abortion law was put into place 50 years ago and it made sense. This gave a woman the right to her body without a government dictating what was allowed. Of course, this law was overturned this year and was the WRONG decision. I strongly believe that it is a woman’s body, and no one has a right to decide what happens in her body. Even though people allow their religious views to influence how they feel about abortion, that should not force a victim of rape to have to carry a reminder of the worst day of their life for nine months.

Gay marriage became legal in 2015. This is not causing anyone any harm and is simply about love between two people. Just because we do not understand, or something makes someone uncomfortable does not mean it should not be allowed. Love is love and not something criminal. I do believe people are either born gay or not and it is not something they wake up one morning and decide to be.

It seems that the world is on opinion overload, and many do not try to understand the way others think. We do not have to agree with others on everything, but we do need to be respectful of their thoughts. If you know you disagree with another person on something, it is best to evade that topic and avoid unnecessary arguments. We already know that people have strong opinions on topics such as politics, religion, abortion, and sexual preferences, so these should be avoided at all costs.

Thank goodness it is Saturday, and we can rest or do whatever else we choose. How was your week? For some reason, last week felt insanely long and I was exhausted by the end of the day yesterday. Do you have anything special planned for the weekend or will you just do your best to recover from the week? My plans are the latter and recuperate from the week.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared, and I do apologize if anything I mentioned was offensive because that was never my intention. I would love to read your thoughts and I will respond to your comments as quickly as possible. I hope you enjoy your weekend and stay as safe as possible. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Pick-Me-Up Thursday

Happy Friday eve, y’all! There is NO better way to view Thursday, than Friday eve because it makes us know the week is almost over! How has your week been? All I will say about my week is, I am glad it is almost over. The good thing about the weeks now is, the weather is finally cooling down and we are not dealing with temperatures being in the high 90’s because that is miserable. What temperature do you think is perfect? I would love it if it could be in the 70’s year around or just NEVER too much above 80. I enjoy hoodie weather because it is cozy!

Our workweek is coming to an end and we only have one day left to get through, which should not be anywhere near as bad as the first few days of the week! Even though I am glad the week is almost over, I do like my job and have a chance to work with a great team, especially my supervisor😊! Even with that said, I do still encounter some people I would rather not because they have a negative outlook and attitude. I have learned through my years, sometimes the best thing to say to people is nothing at all because they do not deserve our time! This can be true at work and not at work as it is up to us who we allow into our lives and to who we give our time and attention.

I am sure you are looking forward to the weekend, right? Do you have any plans for the upcoming weekend? I know I sound boring, but I feel the best plan for a weekend is no plans at all. Honestly, our weeks are always planned out for us and most of the time not doing what we want to do, so I think weekends should not have any forceable plans. The weekend should be ONLY doing what we want to do and nothing we do not find enjoyable and happy😊! Of course, my weekends always include being available for the cats and catering to their every little furry need!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed what I have shared and you found the quote meaningful. Life is short and we need to live life to the fullest, which sometimes means eliminating those that bring us down and make us miserable. I look forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Show love and respect for animals!

What does it mean to be an empathetic person? To be an empathetic person is to show an ability to understand and share feelings with another person. After reading what it means, do you think you are an empathetic person? Is it possible to feel too much empathy for others? I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I am a very empathetic person. I would never say anyone can feel too much empathy because I believe everyone’s feelings are meaningful and should be respected. Of course, I can admit that I am an emotional person and act based on emotions before logic most of the time!

On Monday, I learned one of my co-workers lost one of her cats. Her poor cat was hit by a car and sadly, her kitty did not survive. This struck a cord in my mind because I remember losing our cat, Chloe, and know how incredibly painful this is. Unfortunately, when my co-worker was taking her cat that was hit by a car to be cremated, her other kitten escaped her home. I know how hard it was losing one cat and cannot imagine losing two within two days. I was in tears Monday when I learned about the first kitty and then last night was hysterical because it broke my heart for my co-worker.

In my heart and mind, I think animals are important and full of love. My husband and I have three cats and we treat them like they were our children because, for all intensive purposes, they are. I cannot imagine life without them because they bring SO much joy to our lives and for that, we make sure they have everything and then some they need. When I see things about animals being mistreated, it makes me so angry because animals are the only creature that loves unconditionally and they do not judge, as most humans do.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I know this is a rather sad post, but I hope it resonates with you and you understand what empathy means. I am looking forward to reading your comments and I promise to respond as quickly as I can. Remember, if you have a pet to give him or her a little extra love. If you do not have any pets, remember to always be kind to all animals! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

National Substance Abuse Prevention Month

In 2011, former President Obama issued the first-ever Presidential Proclamation designating October as National Substance Abuse Prevention Month. This is meant to be a month to raise awareness of the various health effects substance abuse causes the individual, families, and communities. It is also a time to remember those who lost their lives to substance abuse, recognize those in recovery, and those who are continuing to support them. When someone battles with any type of addiction, it can wreak havoc on their lives and everyone around them. We need to try to understand the struggles and help get anyone not already in recovery, to find their way to the road to recovery.

Studies have indicated individuals who start smoking, drinking, or using other drugs have a greater likelihood of addiction. Unfortunately, those who began using addictive substances before they were 15 years old are about seven times more likely to develop a substance abuse problem than those that delay their first use until at least 21 years old or older. Each year substance abuse is delayed during their adolescent brain development, and their risk of addiction and substance abuse decreases.

The National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics suggests slightly more than 60% of Americans have abused a type of drug during the past month. This includes illegal and pharmaceutical drugs but also includes tobacco and alcohol. Pew Research Center, which is an indirect viewpoint has reported that 46% of American adults have a close relationship with someone who is or has suffered from addiction, some may not even know someone they are close to is dealing with an addiction. It is sad and unfortunate, but this is a common and VERY real problem in the United States.

As I have already mentioned, substance abuse tends to start with the youth and younger adults. Over 12.5% of our adolescent population has used illegal substances during the past year. It is crucial to help the youth understand the importance of avoiding drugs, as this can prevent them from further issues when they are adults.

Substance abuse is a known issue in the world, but in the United States statistics show that you or someone you care about has fallen victim to the addiction epidemic. Addiction can be a dark and lonely place for the person suffering from the addiction and in turn be painful for their family. This can cause many to feel powerless to discover a resolution and treatment.

Sadly, there have been countless celebrities and musicians the youth view as role models that fell into the addiction trap and lost their lives because of their addiction. Highly successful individuals such as Chester Bennington from Linkin Park and Chris Cornell from SouthGarden and Audioslave are just a couple of examples. So many become addicted to various types of drugs because they are self-medicating due to mental health issues, previous traumas they want to forget, negative home environments, or various other stressors.

The number of overdose deaths continues to increase each year. The CDC estimated in 2021, more than 107,000 died from a drug overdose, with 75% of these deaths involving opioids. Sadly, the number of overdose deaths increased to 109,000 as of March 2022. The vast majority of these deaths were due to synthetic opioids, which include fentanyl and stimulants such as cocaine and methamphetamine.

It is important to keep yourself educated on the signs of addiction. Understanding signs can help you to identify the behaviors and help the person suffering from addiction sooner rather than later when it may be too late.

Behavioral Symptoms:

*Increased aggression or irritability

*Changes in attitude or personality

*Lethargy

*Depression

*Abnormal messages on social media

*Drastic changes in habits and or priorities

*Criminal activity

Physical Symptoms:

*Bloodshot or glazed eyes

*Dilated or constricted pupils

*Abrupt weight changes

*Sleeping too much or too little

*Poor physical coordination

*Unusual body odor

*Appearing untidy

Communicating with someone that is battling addiction can be complicated. Of course, each person is unique and may need different strategies than those that I am sharing with you. Regardless of the way you discuss the issue, all people need love, support, and compassion. The following are some strategies that you may find helpful.

Always Be Kind:

Be advised there is already a negative stigma engulfing our society regarding addiction. This causes people to be criticized, insulted, belittled and rejected. Although you may have accepted the person’s addiction struggles and disapprove of their behavior, you can slowly begin building a bridge to forgiveness and the person’s recovery.

Carefully choose your words:

Understanding language matters and we cannot erase words that are spoken. Remember to communicate as respectfully as possible. It is crucial to evade using language that encourages harmful cliches. Refrain from words such as addict or junkie because the person’s addiction does not define who they are as a whole. These names are dehumanizing and not helpful!

Educate yourself:

Society tends to blame people for their addiction like it is a moral failure. Be sure to understand before speaking to your loved one that addiction is a disorder and not a failure. The National Institute on Drug Abuse describes addiction as an inability to stop using drugs, failing to work, or failing family obligations. Currently, people working in the medical community refer to addiction as a substance abuse disorder. Even if you disagree with this, it is important you do not let the person you are trying to help know because it will not help the person recover.

Talk Less, Listen More:

An important part of communicating is listening to what the person is saying to you. When someone struggling with addiction confides in you, try to simply listen without interrupting or criticizing. You may disagree with what the person is saying, but it is VERY important to withhold your judgments. Remember to continue speaking to them as if they do not have an addiction. The person suffering from addiction is still the same person they were before the addiction took hold of them and they have the same likes, dislikes, and hobbies.

Set Boundaries:

Communicate through actions and words. Keep your message consistent so your loved one does not misunderstand. Communicating with someone with an addiction is NOT easy, especially if you have a history of supporting their behaviors. Letting the person know how they hurt you may help to motivate their recovery.

Believe the person:

If your friend or loved one decides to talk to you about their addiction, do not disagree with what they are saying. Your perspective about addiction is NOT the reality of their experience. Trust, they know what is happening because it is their body going through the addiction. Respect how they are feeling and what it has been like for them. Do not make excuses and enable their behavior, because they are responsible for their addiction. Even with this say, you can still support their recovery.

You cannot control the recovery:

Naturally, you want to help the person you care about with their addiction, but you cannot control how they do it. As long as they are not a harm to themselves or anyone else, all you can do is respect their ways to make positive changes. Instead of dictating how they get help, ask them how you can help them!

This post ended up being a little longer than I expected, so I am going to do another post that describes the negative effects drugs can do to a person’s body. Too many people around the world have fallen victim to addiction and others lost their lives due to their addiction. I might be wrong, but I think there is something more the government can do about this problem, but most are in the pocket for the pharmaceutical companies.

Thank you for visiting my site today. If you or someone you care about are struggling with an addiction, I hope the information in this post will help. Please understand, I am not a medical professional and the information provided was all based on my research on the subject. If you have any other suggestions, please let us know as I am sure it will be helpful. I look forward to reading your comments and will respond as quickly as possible. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Quick Sunday Thought

Sunday is “supposed” to be a day to relax and get ready for the week ahead of us, right? Unfortunately, I woke up early this morning with a killer headache/migraine. I am not sure what caused this to happen, but it has left me thinking the “daith” piercing might not help these. I do tend to get sick with a cold or something like that every time there is a weather change, which could explain the body aches and head pain. Needless to say, it was not a good Sunday for me at least.

It did not help that my pain doctor screwed up and NEVER called my refill in for today like she was “supposed” to. I called the pharmacy on Friday afternoon to follow up and ensure the Nurse Practitioner did what she was supposed to. When I learned the Nurse Practitioner did not call this in, I did call the office and was told they were taking care of it. They did NOT! Sadly, we need to make sure our doctors do what they are supposed to, especially with our medications, but I guess it is what it is! I am unsure if this is just an issue with medical professionals in the United States or if it is worldwide!

I hope you have had a nice and relaxing weekend. Do you have issues with your doctors or Nurse Practitioners not doing what they are supposed to do? How do you handle these issues? I already left a voicemail for my doctor’s office to let them know their so-called care is unacceptable. I am not sure they fully understand what it is like to live life in constant pain because if they did I am sure they would not be so incompetent and inconsiderate.

Thank you for visiting my site today. I am looking forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I can. I feel confident that most of you understand my frustration with my doctor’s office, so I would love to know how you would handle things. I try to always be polite, but I think that seems to make them think I am a pushover and they can screw up. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Finally Friday!

Happy Friday, y’all! How was your week? This might have been a short week for me, but it did feel VERY long! I can think of a couple of reasons why this week felt long for me. One reason is that people are exhausting and extremely demanding. I cannot understand how “some” people can be selfish enough to believe whatever they think they need is more important than the hurricane that just happened in Florida. I mean, people lost their homes and lives, so I think what they are dealing with is WAY more important than anything superficial. The other reason why this week has felt longer is that my very understanding and amazing supervisor is on vacation. Who would have thought things could change so much at work without her?!

I have always thought that Friday is the perfect day to let go of anything negative thoughts that are weighing on our minds, especially the negative things caused during the week. Our weekends are already TOO short, so wasting any time on negative thoughts is useless. We might have some negative thoughts that were leftover from last week or are still in our minds from another time because we were not able to let go of those thoughts. It happens and I understand, but we should all at least try to let all negative feelings go at least once a week. I hope the quote I am sharing today helps you to let go and not hold onto any negative feelings towards anyone in your life!

Of course, my weekend plans are limited because I feel like I need time to recuperate from the week and I do not want to do much of anything because I have felt drained this week. I think it might have something to do with the weather changes causing my pain to increase and I am not sure what else, but rest is a MUST. I do want to finish a couple of posts that I started about Domestic Violence Awareness and Bullying Prevention Month and clean the house! So stay tuned for these posts to be published soon!!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you enjoyed the quote and it helps you let go of any negative feelings you are experiencing. I am looking forward to reading your comments, which I will respond to as quickly as I can. I hope you have a nice, relaxing, and safe weekend! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Pick-Me-Up Thursday

Happy Friday eve, y’all! The week began for me with a day off and then getting the piercing that I have been wanting😊! Then on Tuesday going back to work, which after being off few a couple of days was not that exciting. It honestly felt like a Monday on a massive amount of steroids, needless to say, it was miserable! Yesterday was a lot better and nowhere near as chaotic. Now we are nearing the end of the week and I only hope you are having a good week and the last couple of days of the week go very well!

We are near the end of our week and the weekend is upon us all, but we do have one more day to make it through. I am hoping the quote I am sharing with you today will serve as a little pick-me-up and help you through the final day of the week! I do know how limited compliments seem to be and how quick people are to criticize, but if we just try to accept them all with grace it will help us grow more.

The weekend is just around the corner now! Do you have anything planned for the weekend? I am probably going to work on cleaning the house because it definitely needs it! Other than the boring household chores, I plan to not wake up too early. I guess the cats will dictate what time I get up like they always do! I cannot say too much bad about the precious little furballs because they are the light of our life and we would be lost without them!

Thank you for visiting my site today. I hope you have a great day and you enjoyed what I have shared with you today. I am looking forward to reading your comments and I will respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending you LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!
