Reasons I love blogging

I started blogging on July 17, 2017, and have enjoyed it every day since. Since I was a young child, I have loved to write and dreamt about being a professional writer which did not happen. Maybe a better way to say it is, I have not become a professional writer yet, but it could happen someday. I feel that writing is a good way to embrace our emotions and release the massive stress the world contains. No one is there to interrupt our thoughts and there are not any negative judgments because it is just between you and the paper. I am going to share a few reasons why I love the blogging community.

The first reason is that I love the connections and friendships that are built between others around the world. Many people with similar interests you would never meet are found in the community. When you write about something personal and emotional, others genuinely care. The feedback I see from others is uplifting and motivates me to continue improving.

Writing helps me to release the stresses and emotions I am going through. When we try to ignore what we are feeling, it allows those emotions to fester, which can create negative health issues. Most of the time, if I am going through something that is frustrating or challenging, I will ignore the feelings and hope they will disappear. Until we find a positive way to release negative emotions, they will only hinder us from living the best life we can live.

The blogging community enables me to write about whatever and anything I want to. There are not any boundaries I do not feel I can write about because most of what I write about is either my personal views or other issues that require research and I have always enjoyed research! When I dive deep into a topic of interest and research the subject, I am gaining great knowledge. I think one of the most powerful things we can have is knowledge because knowledge is power and not in a controlling kind of way.

I feel strongly that my blog has increased my ability to write which might have never happened if I was not blogging. Truthfully, until five years ago I did not know anything about blogging. I was chatting with a former co-worker about hobbies, and she told me she was doing a “fashion blog”. What she was doing sounded incredible and exciting! I explained to her how much I loved to write, and she told me how to get involved with the blogging community. I am forever thankful for this person because she is the reason I got involved!

Even though I am not a “professional” writer currently, my blog gives me the opportunity to write about whenever I want to and does not have any limitations. I do not think I have to write daily, weekly, or even monthly, but I want to. Saying my blog forces me to write is far from accurate because it makes me want to and it has me wanting to improve for the reader’s enjoyment.

For lack of better words, I think blogging is freeing! In a world full of pressures and what we must do, blogging frees me of these feelings. A normal job is something we must do because if we do not, we will not get paid. How many people truly look forward to going to work? There are those that enjoy their jobs, but for most, it is a means to take care of their family. I do not get paid for my blog but enjoy it more than any job I have had previously.

Blogging provides me with a positive challenge, which helps me stay focused and builds my brainpower. It is crucial to force our brains to work and grow. This is one of many ways to keep my brain as sharp as I can. Living with Multiple Sclerosis can have a negative impact on my brain and body, so challenging my brain to write might prevent any additional negative effects on my brain.

I am curious to know, why did you get involved with the blogging community? Is there anything you do not enjoy about the blogging community and if so, what would you do to change things? If you had the chance to create a new platform, how would it work?

Thank you for visiting my site today. I appreciate you taking the time to read this post and hopefully leave a comment. If you do leave a comment, I will respond as quickly as I can. I am sure there are others things I enjoy about blogging but missed adding them to this list. I hope you are having a wonderful and safe week and each until we make it to Friday improves. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Always, Alyssa

  1. Great blog! I believe we all need something that we truly enjoy doing in life. A way to escape life’s challenges. Something that gives our life meaning. I feel your blog is motivating, inspirational and a pleasure to read. The quote at the end of the blog truly gave me hope and put a smile on my face. It’s all about our attitude and a positive attitude will take us to places we can’t even imagine. Thank you for putting yourself out there and starting a blog that offers so much insight and hope for others. It’s truly rewarding when you can take a negative situation in life and turn it around for the good of not only yourself but for so many others. All my Love & Support, Mom….
