~Pick Me Up Thursday~

~Happy Friday Eve~

We have almost made it through another week y’all! How has your week been? Against my good judgement, I have to go to a doctor’s appointment today. I have tried for 2 weeks to get this appointment to be virtual, but they just would not give into my request. My reason for being so against this is because of how awful COVID numbers are in the state I live in. Considering I hardly have an immune system, I am pretty upset and nervous about this appointment, but as always I will be very careful. It really doesn’t make sense to me because when this pandemic first started and cases were not very high, this doctor did do virtual appointments and now that numbers are escalating they refuse.

The good new is, we only have one more day of the week and we will have made it to the weekend! I don’t know about y’all, but I definitely could use a little Pick Me Up. I do hope the quote I am sharing with y’all today will provide you with the pick me up you need to get through the final day of the week! I would love to read your thoughts though because I know they will be great and insightful!

I hope you have a lovely and safe day! I will try tonight to do a post about how my doctor’s appointment went today, but it will depend on how I feel when I get home. This doctor is about an hour and a half away from my house and I really do not like driving. What makes this drive even worse is the fact that people can’t drive and there is SO much road construction. Even though I do not feel comfortable going to the office and dread driving, it still might be nice to get out of the house for a little while. I have felt very isolated and frustrated being home ALL the time.

Thank you for visiting my site today! Try to not stress too much about anything too much today because nothing is worth that much of your time. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love, comfort, support, and MANY positive vibes!

Always, Alyssa

The last few weeks of posts have been uplifting to say the least. I was also suffering with MS related issues since thanksgiving and am trying to get caught up on what I missed. This mess we are all facing just embeds in me that I want to clear my head and my heart to let the love for other people shine through. Some days that is harder than others but when one looks around and sees all of the fractured lives that have had negative outcomes there comes a certain peace when you help others in need. During the thanksgiving break we had our neighbor over for thanksgiving dinner and had tacos. Not your traditional but it was one to remember because of that. We have shared our daughters dog with her when we watch him as the neighbor lost her dog in the spring and has been having a hard time coping. She dotes on the dog as she texted last night a thank you because it fills a hole in her heart. I was moved that we really haven’t done anything yet it makes a difference.
I have been hearing encouraging news for those of us with autoimmune diseases. It seems as though we are not as susceptible to the virus as our immune systems are in overdrive. Check with your doctor and find out their opinion. I’m not suggesting that it is time to throw caution to the wind. However it does make sense when you break down the pathophysiology of this. I continue to wear my mask though when I am out even though I don’t go out much at all.
I have been reading a new book that also comes with a workbook. It is having me do some serious introspection and facing my dragons so to speak. The title of the book is 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote for Chaos by Jordan Peterson. He is a psychologist and is able to break things down in a way that makes the reader think. So many of the things I read are lacking that introspective piece as it only is something that makes us feel good. But when one wants to feel better in their life, some soul examining should be in the forefront.
I’ll leave you with a quote for today: “Look for your inspiration to the victorious lobster, with its 350 million years of practical wisdom. Stand up straight, with your shoulders back.”
Good advice for today and every day. Never let the weight of the world weigh you down so much that you remain in a defensive position with your head down and shoulders rolled forward. There is a plan for each and every one of us and we can rest in the fact that there is someone who ALWAYS has our back.
Enjoy your drive and the peace that it can bring.

  2. Happy Friday eve Alyssa! I hope your doctor’s appointment went well and that you felt safe while there. I’ve been at our doctor’s office almost every month for my OMT and they’ve done a wonderful job of making sure they do everything they can to keep everyone well. I hope your experience will be the same. Hugs!
