July 17, 2017. This was a very special day and a day that will never be forgotten because it is the day I took a leap of faith into the blogging community and created my first post ever! Year to date, I have shared 622 posts. When I look back over my almost three years of blogging and like many others that are entering the blogging community for the first time felt slightly overwhelmed. I knew very little about creating and maintaining websites, what to write about and what people wanted to read, connecting and building friendships with those I may never meet face-to-face, deciding on a site name, and so much more. The amazing part of this is, there isn’t a right or
wrong way to create a blog and it is all about what you want out of it!
There are so many reasons people want to attempt blogging. Let’s face it putting yourself and your thoughts on any given topic can cause you to feel a little vulnerable because you have no way to know the reactions of another person reading and can only hope what you wrote will sit well. Trusting yourself and believing in your abilities isn’t easy, but this is the perfect way to learn how.
I went through an extremely deep sea of emotions when I was contemplating whether or not to start my blog. I guess it was a little terrifying because anything I write could be read and then criticized. All I could think of was everyone reading would think what I wrote was awful and if I wrote about Multiple Sclerosis I might be viewed as weak.
Any negative thoughts I had were quickly seen as incorrect. Everyone in this great community is non-judgmental and encouraging. I have never experienced a time when someone had anything negative or rude to say, which is another reason I love what I am doing.
My reasons for wanting to join the blogging community has always been the same and never wavered. I wanted to be able to raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis, but also wanted to encourage people to never surrender to any obstacle they faced
I will be the first to say that life can be very challenging. It is easy to want to give up anything things became unbearable. It takes a strong-willed person to go through painful situations one after another, but always picking themselves back up, dust away the pain and then try again.
I am thankful for the fellow blogger who introduced me to WordPress, Catie Beth, who I worked with at a previous job. She has a brilliant blog about fashion, including makeup and hair products and fabulous shopping tips. Catie Beth is an incredibly kind person and I know you would enjoy her site https://xocatiebeth.com/, once you view it.
I have always loved writing and love the fact I can write about anything I choose on my blog. This has given me the opportunities to building my abilities and knowledge as a writer. I have also introduced me to some of the most compassionate and kind hearted people.
It brings me so much joy to be able to help others when they are going through difficult times in life. It doesn’t need to be an unpredictable illness to make someone’s life complicated because anyone can experience hardships. I has been one of my goals to spread as much positivity as I can and to as many as I can in what can be a very negative world. It is easy to get caught up in the currents of negativity, almost to the point you feel like you are drowning. By doing uplifting quotes three times a week, I hope to be able to provide a life preserve of hope!
When is started my blog almost three years ago, I always had the never-ending support of my husband, mother, and mother in-law. In the beginning my site was mostly about Multiple Sclerosis and what life is like with this illness. Now, I have been able to build my blog into more than solely Multiple Sclerosis. I must admit it is nice to write about things other than the illness I deal with every day of my life. We all deserve a break from our reality at times.
I recently surpassed 2,000 followers around the world and I am very thankful for each and every one of you. It is mind blowing how many friends I have found and look forward to many years of sharing posts and reading yours.
I hope you are doing well today and your week has started off well and you are feeling the best you possibly can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love , comfort, and many positive vibes!
Always, Alyssa
Well done 💖

Congratulations Alyssa! You have inspired me to turn up the heat or kick myself in gear in regards to Taking my own blog more seriously. I am nervous that nobody really cares about what I have to say, But all of us have useful and handy advice or opinions or points of view. Don’t worry, I would never dream of taking your POSITIVITY from you, But I think you should also add inspiration!!!💜🧚♀️💜

I, personally, am staying safe! I am definitely worried for my fellow New Yorkers, though (I live in New York City).

Congratulations Alyssa! I’m not surprised with the number of followers you have but very proud. I know your passion for writing has been a dream of yours since you were young. I also know the fear in your heart when given the diagnosis of MS 19 years ago. It was difficult as a young woman to face the challenge of the unknown. Many questions, very few answers. It was extremely heart breaking to watch how this illness was about to impact your life. Scared to see someone with MS especially a young person. The thoughts that would race through your mind. Will that be me? Will I be in a wheel chair? Will I be able to live a normal life? Why me?? Fear can keep us trapped and ruin our life. The unknown can be a dark and lonely place. Each one of us has a choice. A choice to live in anger and denial or a choice to live our best life given the obstacles we face. It’s incredible to see that you have not only accepted this challenge but found a way to inspire others and offer hope to all. Living in silence keeps us imprisoned. Speaking out breaks the chain that allows us to be free. You’ve offered so many the road to freedom by your encouraging and positive thoughts. I’m proud of the choice you made to use your talent to shed a light in the lives of others. Keep using your gift to positively impact more and more lives. All my Love & Support, Mom…

Wow, that’s a lot of blog posts, and a lot of followers (unsurprisingly, because you’re awesome). “It brings me so much joy to be able to help others when they are going through difficult times in life” – you do a fantastic job of this and you should be super proud. A big CHEER for Alyssa! 🎉🎉🎉 We love you ♥

Oh my goodness, thank you so much Caz! I just read your comment to my husband and had so many nice things to say about you. Now, he might feel like he knows you! I really do find so much joy with helping people. The world is going through so much right now and it is heartbreaking. I hope you are staying safe and you are feeling the best! I know should not say this, but this pandemic is as bad as it is because of one person! I am not a fan of his. Depending on what happens with the election, I might have to move to another country! How are you doing? Are you staying at home and taking care of yourself?
I am thrilled for the amount of great people I have been able to get to know in the blogging community. It has been one of the best experiences of my life! I will continue blogging for as long as I can!! Take care sweet friend!! Lots of love to you sweetie!!! xxx
