To introduce this topic, I am going to explain the four pillars of hope. Hope is something that can help us through the most challenging times in our life. Each of the four letters in the word stands for something that can assist us in reducing stress.
H stands for humor. Sometimes when things are not going right and it brings on a massive amount of stress, we should remember that laughter can be the best and inexpensive medicine available to us.
O stands for opportunity to serve. This simply means to pay your gifts forward. There is a chance you will encounter someone that is struggling with something that you just made it through and would be able to provide knowledge and support to help that person.
P represents Physical Well-Being. What this is meaning is, take care of your body so it can take care of you. This makes a lot of sense if you really think about it. I mean how will our body be able to keep moving if we don’t take care of it and just neglect our body’s needs?
E represents education. In order to carry on and understand a conversation with your healthcare provider, you should educate yourself on medical terms and about what you are seeing the doctor for. Doctors are not always great explaining things and often seem to be irritated when we ask too many questions.
Hope is not a new concept that was just created. This is something that has been around for a long time and a term that is often used loosely in every day conversation. When we talk with someone that is going through a difficult time in their life, we say “I hope everything gets better for you.” Or when someone is not feeling well, we tend to say “I hope you feel better.” All of these statements we make are valid, but do we fully understand the meaning and importance of hope?
When you look up the definition of the hope, you will find a couple of meanings that both allude to the same understanding. One of the meanings that were established is the feeling of expectation or desire for a certain thing to happen. The other meaning I found was it is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events or circumstances in one’s life or the world at large.
Hope can provide us many benefits, some of which are not directly related to what we might be hoping for in the first place. When we are in the middle of pandemonium or chaos, hope can offer us with the calming peace in which we are in need of. Hope can also present us with an ideology giving us the courage, strength, and boldness as opposed to fear. Another phenomenal aspect hopes give us is endurance and patience instead of the temptation to quit and give up.
Something else hope gives us is the motivation required to get up and not just to casually go through the motions of life, but to seize each and every day. We are reminded of the importance to enjoy life in the present, without worries the future may hold.
Unfortunately, we are living in a rather negative world that is full of pessimistic thoughts. It appears there has been an uprise in hate, not just in the United States where I live, but throughout the entire world. It is with these realizations; we need to understand how important hope is for our lives.
There are numerous reasons why it is crucial for us to have hope in our life. Hope can prepare us to work hard, have a strong willingness to tackle and defeat any obstacle we might be faced with. One reason is the fact that hope can act as a healing agent. At some point during our life, it is inevitable we will get hurt either physically or mentally. In the times we are hurt and in pain, hope reminds us that things are constantly changing, so the pain will be temporary. Hope assists us to be logical and keep everything in perspective.
Hope is not linked to any specific situation or outcome but acts more to lead our way through life. Hope helps us to choose the road that will guide our way to positive things and to see amazing outcomes. When we carry hope with us, it will enable us to encourage peace and happiness as part of our daily life.
We are provided with a great deal of energy from hope. This energy allows us to see better opportunities ahead of us and provide the push we need to get there. When we feel like we have almost hit rock bottom and we have thoughts of giving up, our beliefs in hope will shine through. Hope will explain why we are on the path we are on and remind us of the good the will potentially be discovered. It can give us the courage we need to engage in the unknown.
When there is something we are hoping will improve we need to act on it. We will need to empower ourselves to make what we are hoping for to happen because no one else can do it for us. In order for us to become empowered, we should create a detailed action plan. The action plan should contain important information to show our pure determination, which will include tentative materials required and the initial costs, if any.
As we are trying the best we can to stay hopeful, but then we are also inflicted with a lot of negative situations on our path, hope can start to become almost impossible. It might not be easy, but if we focus our attention on circumstances becoming positive, hope will slowly start to show us the light at the end of the darkened tunnel. Every time we think we can’t or that life is never going to improve or any other defeating thoughts, hope will try to help us see things are constantly changing and improvement can and will occur.
Seeking out our inner peace can be beneficial and bring calmness to our minds and souls. Keep in mind that distress is the direct opposite of hope. Distress causes depression and self-hatred thoughts to multiply rapidly. We can easily understand that if negative thoughts can reproduce at high speeds, then we should be able to see that the hopeful thoughts causing joy, contentment, and liveliness can as well.
Our thoughts and enthusiasm for hope can be contagious. When we feel peace and euphoria from hope, it will radiate from our demeanor and be highly contagious to those around us.
Searching for and finding hope in a rather negative world may seem challenging, but if we want it bad enough, we will find it. We can start our search for hope by first acknowledging what our powers are. Something to remember is every action we take will lead to a certain outcome. We should recognize each of those causes and the effects that follow and use then them as learning experiences.
As we begin acknowledging the powers we have within, take some time to figure out how we can influence the situation towards the positive side and then take action. There is a chance we can increase positive outcomes with the powers we have and our strengths with influential abilities.
You might be going through something in life that has made you give up on hope and left you feeling useless. Remember during times like this that we live in a huge world and others may be going through something similar to you. Try connecting with another person that understands the challenges you are facing. The two of you could help one another to become free of these hardships. There are many online forums dedicated to every issue you could think of. An online community can be incredibly helpful and you have the opportunity to make amazing friends, I know I have in the blogging community.
Everyone is different and deals with unfavorable times in a way that works best for them. Regardless if you do not like what you see in the mirror daily, weekly or it never bothers you at all, some people struggle with self-esteem and self-worth issues. It can be strenuous after hope was lost from your life and you start seeing nothing but awful things in the mirror. You may hate what you look like and want everything in that image to change. Now, part of the process of welcoming hope back into your life may be one of the hardest things, but try appreciating who you are and see your values as a strong and wonderful individual.
It is extremely important that you understand there is no amount of hope that can predict the future and maybe not even change it. Try keeping in mind that hope is showing trust in regards to a positive outcome. No one will ever have all the answers to every question, but we must trust that answers will come and something always comes from the experiences we go through in life.
