Happy Monday y’all, I hope you had a lovely weekend! Can you believe it is already December? I know I have said this before, but I do not know where this year went! With another holiday coming up shortly it can be super stressful. It seems like plans and finding the right gifts to give can be difficult, but I am going to try this year to change this pattern because it just isn’t worth it! Throughout the next few weeks, I am going to do a post a week about fun and easy gifts you can purchase that the recipient will love!
I have been doing the best I can to enjoy the days I have off before starting my new job next Monday and it has been great! I love having the time and energy to clean my house, write about things that are important to me, start writing poetry again and I still find it be a great release of emotions, researching how to get into freelance writing and even though I still do not sleep in, I can take naps if I want to! I think y’all already know how much I love to write, so if through my research on freelance writing I can actually get involved, it would really be such a dream come true for me! I do believe if we want our dreams to come true and work hard for them, we can achieve anything we set our mind to!
I found a lovely quote that I wanted to share with y’all today because I found it pretty powerful. I do hope you will enjoy this quote and it will have positive impact on your day and bring you a sense of comfort!
Thank you so much for stopping by my site today! I always appreciate all of your support and really value your comments! I hope you have a wonderful day and your week is full of amazing things! Try your best to keep a good mindset and do not allow anything or anyone to dull your sunshine! I already told you that I will be sharing some good gift ideas in a few posts throughout the next few weeks. I think instead of getting extremely stressed, we should try to remember what holidays are really for and that is being with family! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love
, comfort and many positive vibes!
Always, Alyssa
This product is not only really pretty, but it is calming and we all need
something like this!

Let me know if I can help you get started with freelance writing. I’m burned out on it now, but it’s been my primary career for more than 15 years and I was an editor for two different magazines as well.

Oh my goodness, thank you SO much Holly!!! I debated if I was going to try getting into freelance writing, because I wasn’t sure I was good enough. However, we only live once so it can’t hurt to try, right? I know it will be difficult starting out because I am new and there are many seasoned freelance writers out there. I am sure I will have LOTS of questions and I appreciate you being willing to answer them!
Do you have any words of wisdom to help me get started? I have read many articles on freelance writing and think it will be exciting!!!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! It’s actually much easier to get started as a freelance writer than you think. You just have to be a good writer (which you are!) and you have to learn the style of writing, which is less creative and more like a book report…or a magazine article, since most of them are freelance-written. 😉
I’d suggest that you think of a couple subjects you want to write about, although that will change over the years. I started out writing about pregnancy and parenting and now write mostly about health and the city I live in.
There are two main approaches you can take to get started. You can sign up at Upwork and start at a lower rate, prove yourself by doing good work and meeting your deadlines, then increase your rate as you go. This usually only takes a couple months. Let me know if you decide to do this and I can give you more tips.
You can also pitch potential clients and publications with specific article ideas, and if they like it, they’ll assign it to you. This is the much slower route than Upwork but it pays much better. If you want to learn more about this route, I’d strongly recommend checking out Carol Tice’s “make a living writing” website.
Ask me anything you want to know! You can email me at hollycase94@gmail if you want!

Alyssa you deserve to enjoy your time off and do whatever makes you happy. It’s so exciting to be starting a new job. 🎊 Congratulations!! Holidays can be stressful but we also need to enjoy the season. I think we put extra stress on ourselves and the number one reason is spending too much. Let’s focus on the real meaning of Christmas and I bet we’ll all be happier. I can’t wait to see some of your gift ideas and where we can find them. I wish you and all your followers a Happy Holiday Season! All my Love & Support, Mom…

Happy Monday & December to you, Alyssa! I agree with you, this year flew by so darn quick and I don;t know why. It’s not as if anything special happened. It was fairly dull to be honest.
The only thing that kept me going is my blogging and reading other bloggers posts/pieces.
Anywho… Back to reading and laundry. LOL!
Have a wnderful time off!!! 💓

It seems the older I get, the faster time flies by! I am with you, nothing all that special even happened.
Blogging has been a great thing and I value all my blogger friends! I am trying to relax, but still get things done while I am off. New job next Monday.

It is exciting, but a little frustrating at the moment. They are doing my background check and one state is taking forever to give info. I know it is clear!

I know but it is stressful! They are waiting for a background on a state I live in when I was barely 18 and it was 20 years ago. It is a little insane!

Looking forward to your gifting suggestions! Just posted my third and final gift guide. Now I need to actually do my own Christmas shopping 😂
I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the little time off before starting the new job. I wish you had longer off (preferably paid though!) you more than deserve rest and recuperation time and a chance to do things you enjoy. I LOVE that quote. I hate uncertainty and change is not something I always deal well with; sometimes I do, other times I don’t, and I think I’m a tad bit of a ‘control freak’. Just a tad 😉 With chronic illness, that change and uncertainty and such seems to be amplified, so we have to try to roll with it as much as possible.
Sending hugs, have a lovely rest of your week, Alyssa!

I decided to do the gift ideas because I was trying to do something with Amazon, but of course I don’t want to push people to buy things! I know this will sound terrible, but I am not looking forward to Christmas shopping. Funds a rather low with the job situation. I am supposed to start Monday, but they are still waiting for my background from a state I lived in when I was 18. It is rather frustrating, but there is nothing I can do about it. If they do not get the info back by Friday, I will have another week off, unpaid.
I am like you, a bit of a control freak! Unfortunately the MS doesn’t want to work with that and I still try to not bend. Honestly, I do the best I can to roll with the punches, but it is so frustrating! I hope your week is going well Caz!!! xxxx
