Pick-Me-Up Thursday!

Cat Friday EveGood morning y’all! I hope your week has been a good one and you are feeling well. My week has been a mixture of trying to rest, waiting, some terrible tooth pain and negative news. I already shared that I had an accident, that was NOT my fault at all two weeks ago. Even though things withon the tow truck insurance started going well and the other driver’s insurance would be paying for everything, I did get some sad news Wednesday afternoon. It was decided that my car was considered totaled, which makes NO sense at all to me. Of course I do try my best to find the positive in all situations, so I guess getting a new car can be viewed as a good thing. The sad thing about this is, my husband and I left our wedding in that car, so it has sentimental meaning to us.. This is the picture of my poor car on the back of the tow truck.

Y’all know I think a pick-me-up is always helpful and I know I could use that right now. What I am sharing today short, simple and meaningful. During really difficult and painful times, this is the reminder that I need!strong-enough-to-live-it.jpg

Thank you for visiting my site today! I hope you have a great day and you are happy it is almost the weekend. Please feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts on this quote, I do always enjoy reading your great thoughts! Please know that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort, and many positive thoughts!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

  1. Oh Alyssa, I’m so sorry about your accident! I’ve gotten behind on blogs lately and didn’t realize this had happened. I’m sorry about your car being totaled. I’m sure it’s difficult to see it go because of the memories it holds, but now you’ll be able to make new memories in your next car. Your quote is a great reminder!

  2. Oh no. I’m so sorry about your car. I can only imagine how you must feel. I’ve been driving Carlene since 2003, when I bought her slightly used. (She’s a 1995 model.) Her sun visors are cracked, her upholstery is musty, there’s something growing underneath the driver’s seat, and the key is trapped in the ignition (although no one seems eager to kidnap Carlene, so it doesn’t seem to matter), but I love that car. I’m sorry yours got totalled. 😦

    • Thank you so much Meg. We were talking about selling the car so I could get a safer car. I guess this is just the push to do so. It is still a little sad though. I went to get my personal belongings out of it today and the poor car looks a mess.

  3. Saying goodbye to a car is always a hard thing to do. You make memories with it, it helps you do this and that, it becomes a big part of your life. Sorry about the news from the insurance company.

    • Thank you so much! I went to get my personal belongings out of the car today and I think the frame was bent pretty bad. It seems the repairs cost more than the poor car was worth. We had been talking about selling the car so I could get something a little safer, so I guess it is just time to do so.

  4. Hello. Firstly, I just want to say that I’m sorry about your accident and your tooth pain. I have just started following you, but I enjoy your posts so far. I appreciate you trying to keep things positive. It really helps me, and I’m certain others, to stay positive when things look bleak. There are always good things that come from bad situations. Keep staying positive. You are awesome! As far as the quote goes, I agree, but sometimes question the sanity of it all! 😛

    • Thank you so much! Things have been a bit challenging lately, but I know things will get better. I am one that believes everything happens for a reason, it is just a little difficult figuring out what those reasons are. I am glad you are enjoying my posts so far and hope you continue to. My goal is to keep things positive because there is already so much negative in the world. All negativity does is create horrible feelings and those feelings can create health issues, which none of us need.

  5. Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry about your accident. I remember when I totaled my first car, it took most of the damage, leaving me with only a few bruises, which made me feel even worse about it being totaled (since it saved my legs from being crushed). But I’m hoping that your day is better today! I love the quote, it’s actually what I’m always saying to people. That I was given these ailments for a reason: I’m strong enough to handle them. Stay strong!

    • Thank you Linda! The accident was pretty terrifying, but at least I wasn’t injured. I mean, my neck and shoulder was a little more sore than normal, but it could have been way worse. It does break my heart a little the car is totaled, only because it is the car we left our wedding in. We will always have those memories and we were thinking of selling the car anyways. I am so glad you liked the quote. I do believe these are words to live by!

  6. I am so sorry to hear about your accident!! I’m glad you are okay and I hope it hasn’t flared you in any way.

One silver lining I had when I totaled my car was that they paid the loan off, which was a rip off to begin with. Plus, my new car is even better than that one was!

I do understand the sentimental value, though. It’s difficult when it wasn’t a decision that you made; it was just taken from you.

I hope that you are doing well today and that you’re able to find a good replacement car! ❤

    • The accident was terrifying and did cause some additional neck and shoulder pain, but it could have been so much worse. I am so happy the insurance company is going to pay out a fair amount. It is sad they totaled the car but we were talking about selling it anyway. This just pushed us along faster.

I do hate that I wasn’t given the choice and they pretty much took the car away from me, but there is a silver lining to the entire situation.

We are looking over the weekend for a replacement for me. I really want a Chevy Tahoe, which is much bigger than my little sports car, but I am sure it will be much safer. Hopefully we will find the right one soon because I have to give the rental car back next Friday. I hope you are having a great weekend and feeling the best you can!

  8. Oh so sorry! I had a car written off after being hit by a truck on the highway–talk about adding insult to injury. The last thing I needed was to have to spend money on a vehicle to replace mine, which was completely paid off!

  9. Oh Linds, I’m so sorry about the car. Things with sentimental meaning are so hard to let go of, especially given the circumstances in this case. But those memories will always be there. Hopefully the insurance will cover a decent new car. How’s your tooth now? I hope that starts to ease off so you can avoid a dental visit. That may be wishful thinking but I’ll keep my fingers crossed! Sending hugs xxxx

    • Thank you so much! I am very thankful that the insurance company has been great about things and are paying out a fair amount. It would have been terrible if they didn’t do right with their payout. I do know the sentimental meaning will always be with us. We had already been talking about selling it so I could get something a lot safer. The tooth is doing better. I tried some home remedies that worked so well! I do appreciate your kind words, they really do mean a lot.
