New job and LOTS of fatigue!

butterfliesGood afternoon y’all! I hope you had a good week and you are enjoying this beautiful weekend! It is finally trying to warm up where I live and no rain at the moment. Rain can be relaxing when I am at home and even though it does increase my pain, it also provides a calming sound. I definitely prefer to not be out or at work when it is raining only because it makes me even more tired than normal.

I am sorry that I didn’t share a pick-me-up Thursday this week, but I was way too tired totired-cat do much of anything after being at work in front of a computer for 8 hours. The new job is an actual full-time thing and it is pretty exhausting. I know my previous job was also full-time, but I was salary and it wasn’t actually 40 hours. My energy level has been rather low as I am getting adjusted to this, but hopefully I will get there soon and be able to be active with my blog way more than I was this week.

saltines-and-ginger-aleNot only did I start this new job, but I am also still battling with some kind of stomach issue that has been here well over a month now! Considering I do not have insurance yet, I can’t really afford to go to a doctor that will only want to run a ton of tests on me. I knew I would have to deal with my chronic illness without insurance for 90 days, but this stomach issue I wasn’t expecting. Currently there are only a few things I am able to eat, so my diet at the moment is crackers and ginger ale, not very exciting I know!

The people I am going to be working with seem rather nice and laid back, but we will see how long that lasts. I have gotten to know one girl and we like the same kind of music, sowallpaper-full-hd-x-smartphone-music-pic-mch0111838.jpg that is always a good talking point. The person that hired me understands what MS is because his sister battles with this as well. He has actually been great and told me to take breaks when I needed to. Typically breaks are every 2 hours, so  at least I know I can do them more frequently if needed.

I am very behind with reading and commenting on all of your incredible posts, but I will try to catch up this weekend. I am not going to make any promises though because I am not sure how much I will be able to catch up on or what I am going to be capable of moving forward, but I will tell you I will do my positive-energy-feat-740x494best. I always enjoy being able to blog because it really is the best therapy ever!!

Thank y’all for taking the time to visit my site today and I do appreciate your understanding during my adjustment period. I hope y’all have a fabulous weekend and you are able to do what brings you the most joy! Please remember, even though I am dealing with an adjustment at the moment, I am always sending y’all LOTS of ❤ love, comfort and many positive vibes!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

  1. I hope you feel better soon! I honestly admire your ability to sit in front of a computer for eight hours!! I can’t handle that sort of thing at all!! So keep up the great work!!

    • Thank you Meg! I have been waiting for this stomach issue to go away, but it has seemed to take hold and won’t leave! Sitting in front of a computer for that many hours isn’t fun, but I guess it is better than being on my feet 8 hours. I don’t think my legs could deal with being on my feet that long because it causes a lot of pain!! I appreciate your support!

    • Thank you so much! I really do appreciate your kind words and I also hope this stomach issue gets better soon! I think it has taken a hold and doesn’t want to go away, even though it is well past time! I hope you are having a pleasant weekend!

  2. I hope you feel better soon Alyssa – it’s hard enough starting a new job, having an underlying condition on top of it, but to deal with stomach queasiness – well, you’re a real trooper, that’s all I can say to you. Good luck and get some R&R this weekend.

    • Thank you so much! You are very right, it isn’t easy starting a new job with a condition many do not know about, but this stomach issue on top of it has been SUPER difficult. I know I don’t have a choice and must continue on. I am trying to rest up this weekend, which I am often not good at. I actually did sleep in today though!!!

      • That’s good Alyssa – keep your strength up and the flu is still going around. Now is the sensitive stomach issues related to your MS or something else that needs to be determined? I am sorry I did not get to this until later. I was not online until tonight and then I had to do some work for my boss.

      • I do not think the stomach issue had anything to do with the MS. A great fellow blogger suggested I try probiotics, which I knew nothing about. I did buy this yesterday and it has helped so much!!!!!

      • Were the probiotics you tried the other day pills, or an Activia product? Wouldn’t it be incredible if drinking the probiotics yogurt drink again would help cure the stomach ailments (and without the $$ and effort involved in going to the doctor)? I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you Alyssa!

  3. I am so sorry about the stomach issue Alyssa, and that you have no insurance to cever your needs. That is awful. I am glad that you have someone at your new job who understands MS and that you can take your two hourly breaks. I hope that as you settle more into the job, you will feel less tired. Yes, it is boring when you have to curtail your diet. Ginger ale is lively, but you can get too much of a good thing. Sending you lots and lots and lots of live Alyssa. ❤️❤️❤️

    • Thank you Lorraine! The stomach issue isn’t any fun, but hopefully it is going to pass soon! It is helpful that someone does understand MS and will allow me to take breaks more frequent if I need to. The breaks are 15 minutes, but it helps to get up and move some!

  4. Do you take any probiotics? I find they help when my stomach isn’t feeling great and I take them as a preventative to any nasty stomach bugs going around. The pain may also be due to the stress you have been under (I’ve had a stomach ulcer before from stress) 😩 Sending lots of positive healing vibes your way!

    • Thank you! Actually someone recommended I try probiotics, so I did pick some up today. I hope they work because this has been horrible!! I know you are right about stomach ulcers from stress and I am trying my best to get a little control of my stress! I appreciate your kind words and hope you are having a great weekend!

  5. I’m so happy that the first week at the new job went well, and that you have an understanding boss, plus meeting a co-worker and getting to know one another. That is such good news!!!
I’m so sorry about your stomach still giving you issues. I hope this 90 day period of waiting for your new insurance goes by quickly for you. You definitely have to have that checked out.
Much Love & Happiness, Alyssa!!! 💗

    • Thank you Beckie! It isn’t easy learning a new job, but I am doing the best I can. Someone actually recommended I try probiotics and it has worked well for my stomach issue!! Things are improving on the end, but I do hope the 90 days goes by really fast. I hope your week starts off great!!!

      • Actually, probiotics are fantastic! I’m kind of shocked I did’t think of that. then again, I’m on autopilot when it comes to taking stuff.
It’s only been a week and one day on this new job. Be gentle with yourself. Things will all fall into place before you know it.
Anytime I started a new job, I would copy screens and highlight certain areas of importance, and add notes to them. So,if I got stuck on something, I could always refer to them in my notes, (Which turned into a manual after time). I’m such an OCD nut.

      • No worries! I can’t believe I didn’t know anything about probiotics, but I am so glad I do now! My stomach has been much better since I started taking them. The only thing I don’t know is, are these meant to be taken once a day or with each meal? I haven’t had the energy to research them, but I guess I might need to make the time!
I know things will fall into place at some point with this new job. I am just do hard on myself and think I should just know everything quickly. I think maybe I should chill out a little and not push myself too hard. I have only been with this company 7 days today and I am picking things up, just not as fast as I wish I could!

      • I had had the yogurt that already had the probiotic in it. I ate two of them a day, and it regulated my stomach. (For the life of me I can’t remember the darn name of it).
Just look up the brand that you are taking, and it should show up right away.
As far as work is concerned… Yes, only 7 days. It’s not a contest to see how fast you learn. Just keep asking questions, and taking notes, copy screens, and take it easy on yourself. No one expects you to nail all that has to be learned in a 7 day period. Hek, no one expects all of it to be learned in a months time. Just try your best, and give yourself credit for what you are learning. I assure you, you will be just fine. Hang in there, and get some rest this evening.
Tomorrow is “Hump Day” and the rest of the week should move long rather easily.
Have a pleasant evening, Alyssa! 💗

      • It was probably called Activia. I used to drink a yogurt from them. It definitely helps! I take LOTS of notes and so does this other girl in training with me, so we help each other out. I am doing what I can and that is all I can do. I am glad tomorrow is “Hump Day” that just gives me hope the weekend is almost here!!!! I hope you have a great evening as well!!!

  6. I’m not surprised you’re exhausted! Give yourself a break, Alyssa, the blogging can wait. This is a huge thing to get adjusted to with a new job, and that’s without chronic illness. Throw that into the mix and it’s a lot to manage, so I think you’re doing brilliantly. I’m sorry about the tummy issues (your diet is sounding almost as exciting than mine, but I’m living off yoghurts and packets of crisps rather than crackers). I do hope it settles soon and that this week treats you kindly at work xxxxx

    • I am trying to blog when I can, but I love it and it really offers me so much true relaxation! There are some things I write about that get my emotions out and actually make me feel better. The new job isn’t a dream job, but it will serve it’s purpose.
My stomach is actually getting better because of another amazing blogger that recommended probiotics! It was a real relief! I always appreciate all your kindness and I am thankful to have you as friend! I hope your week treats you well!!
