Benefits to finishing!

happy fridayHappy Friday y’all! It’s crazy how fast the week went by, but at least we made it through. My week was full of much anticipation for a new journey I will be starting down on Monday. Y’all can join my count down as I are currently at 2.5 days before starting a new full-time job again.  I do plan to go into this new job with a minimal amount of expectations and an open mind. I know this doesn’t need to be a permanent job, it’s just a means of getting insurance and making a little bit of money to pay bills with.

20190314_130644Y’all know I have been finding a lot of comfort and relaxation with crocheting. I shared with you already the two blankets I made for our living room, but I just finished another blanket for our spare bedroom. I love the colors in this blanket and think it looks pretty darn nice on the bed, but let’s see what you think! I do think that submerging myself into creating 20190314_130652something beautiful helped get me through a difficult time in life.

Now that this blanket has been completed, I had to start another blanket. This new blanket is going to have four colors and these are the favorite colors of husband, his grandparents and myself. The colors include dark gray, pink, light gray and purple. I guess I felt like this would pay tribute to the loving people my husband’s grandparents were! So far, I think it is looking very nice and the colors work well with each other! I promise to share pictures as the new blanket grows!

Now that I am starting a new job on Monday, I will probably not be writing as much as I would like, at least not until I get through training and get adjusted to having an actual schedule again. I do still plan on doing Motivational Monday and Pick-Me-Up Thursday because I find them very helpful! I do still have many fellow bloggers that I want to recognize, as they are just amazing people who I cherish! There are also a fewmultiple_sclerosis_ms_hope_1_postcard-rf4358a5de94a4cb4a8713cdf21813817_vgbaq_8byvr_307.jpg more things I want to share in honor of Multiple Sclerosis Awareness month because I think this is very important and  should not be overlooked!

I know I will get adjusted to this new job pretty fast and do not think it is going to be stressful at all. There are two great things about where I am going to be working. One great part of this new company is, it is only 2 miles from my house! Considering I really do not enjoy driving, this works very well for me. The Best-is-yetother benefit is, I will not have to be on my feet all day. There were a few other interviews I went on, but most of them I would have been on my feet for 8 hours a day. I think I am being logical and know that being on my feet for long periods of time would only cause me more even pain issues and my goodness I didn’t want that. It wasn’t easy for me to admit this because I am pretty stubborn, but I had to be realistic with my own abilities and health. I do not like admitting I can’t do something and will fight against this will everything I have!

Thank you so much for stopping by my site today! I am looking forward to reading what you think about the blanket I just finished! I hope your weekend is filled with nothing but happiness and joy! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of        love ❤, comfort and many positive vibes!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

As far as the crocheting goes, gorgeous work! I only made a few items this past Winter. All of which were gifts.
By seeing your afgan, I now want to finish the project I started working on over a year ago.
Enjoy your weekend!!! Don’t be hard on yourself, rest when you need to. Okay…. Love ya!!

    • Thank you so much Beckie! Starting this job will definitely calm my stress because I will have insurance in 90 days! This is so important to me and I am starting to feel so much better!
Crocheting has been my saving grace and calmed my nerves so much! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you get your afgan done, I am sure yours will be beautiful!!
It’s funny you advised me to not be hard on myself because my husband has said the same thing many times. I honestly do not know how to do this, but hopefully I will be able to do this soon!
I hope you have a great weekend and you are feeling well. Lots of love always!!

  2. This is WONDERFUL news that you have a new job A,yssa. And it sounds as if there are many very positive things about it. I really do hope that it goes well, and that it delivers what you need. I can’t say much about the blanket, but I used to love doing things like that. I loved doing embroudery – so relaxing. And I LOVE colour, so I used to live working with the different coloured threads. I miss it. I will be thinking about you on Monday Altssa. I feel it is going to be great, much much love to you xx

    • Thank you Lorraine! This job will serve it’s purpose and I will have insurance in 90 days! I do not know how to do embroidery, but maybe I can learn! I appreciate your kind and supportive words. I am really planning to not allow for this job or any other job to cause me stress or make me question my abilities. Lots of love Lorraine and I hope you have a great weekend! xx

    • Thank you! I do believe I have made the right decision because being on my feet too long makes my legs hurt and tingle, it is horrible!!! At this moment my legs are in so much pain it hurts to stand, but I am sure it is because of the nasty rainy weather. The rest of the weekend and into next week will be sunny with NO rain!!!!

  3. Sounds like a win-win for you Alyssa. The two miles from home would be the biggest draw for me, but not being on your feet all day is good too. You’ll have some energy left at the end of the day to enjoy your evening. That’s a beautiful afghan – you’ve chosen some beautiful colors.

  4. The purple blanket looks beautiful, I think you’re very talented to have crocheted that! And it’s such a lovely idea to make another blanket with colours to pay tribute to your husband’s grandparents  ♥
Prepare however you can for the new job and then rest up over the weekend, wishing you all the very best for Monday! 🙂

    • Thank you so much Caz, the purple blanket served me so much relaxation and the ability to not continue to over think what went on! The new blanket will provide the same and will be a great tribute to family! I literally have the favorite colors of mine and my husband’s families!
I am trying to get prepared and not stress myself about starting a new job. I am sure it will all be fine. My new boss’s sister actually has MS so he knows about it. I think for the first few weeks I will be blogging far less, but I still want to find time for what I love! Funny thing is, I have had the outfit picked out for my first day!! Considering I want to be able to take notes, I even have my notebook and pens together!!
I hope you are doing well and thank you for all your lovely and supportive words. You my dear are pretty amazing and I do treasure what you say!!! xxx

  5. Oh my gosh Alyssa. What a stunning piece of work and such gorgeous colours! Purple is my second colour. Thank you for sharing. I am a bit behind and have been away from the blogging world for a while so missed your other ones and the news of your new job. Congratulations! How did you learn to crochet? I am really bad at following patterns but would love to learn the basics. Can you please send me a few photos to my allheart address since I haven’t had any entries into the AllheART Art Award as yet and would love to showcase your work?

  6. So happy for you, Alyssa. It sounds like the perfect situation, close to home and off your feet – yay! Anything that can save a little bit of energy makes a big difference, right? Your blanket looks gorgeous. It reminds me of the afghans my Oma used to crochet. I still have one that I cherish but it’s all cream, not a lovely mix of colours like yours. Good luck with everything this week, can’t wait to hear how it went! 💕

    • Thank you Amanda! I do think this job has it’s benefits. I was sold on it because it is so close to my house and being off my feet is great.
I do appreciate your thoughts on the blanket. Crocheting is very relaxing and I need that! I hope your weekend was a great and I hope your week starts off fantastic! I will definitely let everyone know how my first day went, but it might not happen tomorrow, all depends on how I am feeling!

  7. I love the afghan! Crochet is an escape from life with MS that I love!! I’ve been doing it for all of a ear and a half, but I do so love it. How I can make so many things at my own pace, working around what MS wants to do whenever. It’s great!

    • Thank you so much!!! Crocheting is a great escape and it definitely relaxes me, which isn’t easy! The new one I am working on got messed up because somehow the yarn broke, maybe it is cheap yarn. I started over with it and it is actually much better!! What are your favorite types to make? I only know the granny square and I think it is called double stitch!!
