Midweek Recognition!

Happy WednesdayHappy Wednesday y’all! I hope your week is going great so far and you are feeling the absolute best you possibly can. I am sorry because I am a little behind on most everything right now because I have been feeling a little under the weather. I am not sure if I am feeling so awful because I have a cold or it is probably even more likely it’s the massive amount of stress I am feeling right now, Who knows?

As y’all already know I have many fellow bloggers I admire that A-garden-visitordeserve much recognition. I wanted to share each one of them with you so if you haven’t been able to visit their site, maybe you can soon!

The amazing blogger I want to share with you today is very humble and more than likely will not agree with my views, but I am leaving it up to you to determine who is right! Of course I do think you will agree with me that Beth, at http://bethybrightanddark.com/, is brilliant and her honesty is astonishing.

Without even trying, Beth offers me SO much hope, strength and encouragement. Beth was 1bd08e94a39f2f317ac499110972374bdiagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in December of 2015 and continues to fight a good fight daily. Through the words she is able to share regarding her thoughts and experiences related to this unpredictable illness (MS), disease modifying treatments (DMT), Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) you can feel her determination! I do think it is the combination of her sass and pure determination she can get through any situation life throws her way.

Beth is a lot like myself, as we both do not like to cry in front of don't let your illness define youothers. This doesn’t have anything to do with viewing crying as a sign weakness, but everything to do with not wanting to add any additional stress to our families. Beth always inspires me with her kindness, ability to care, never-ending amount of understanding and her killer sarcastic personality!

I know I have already thanked Beth many times before and told her how amazing and encouraging I find her to be, but just in case she has forgotten, “THANK YOU Beth for being your incredible self!” Please never lose that fight within you!sending lots of love

I wanted to thank y’all for stopping by my site today. Each and every one of you have been so fantastic to me during my entire time within the blogging community, especially lately as I have been struggling. Your love and encouraging words are appreciated more than words can even begin to say!

I do hope if you haven’t already been able to visit Beth’s site, you will try stopping by http://bethybrightanddark.com/ when you have a few extra minutes. Without a shadow imagesof a doubt, I think you will enjoy reading every words of Beth’s posts and find her to be extremely strong and motivating!

I do look forward to reading your thoughts about this post and I do promise to respond as quickly as I can. Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of       ❤ love, comfort and many positive vibes!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

  1. Ooo Beth’s blog is a new one to me I think so thanks, will check it out now! Lovely post to share the love 😀
I’m sorry you’re feeling so extra rubbish at the moment. I think a combination of a cold and stress (the latter likely will keep the former hanging around for longer) will definitely do that. I hope you can rest up and work on de-stressing a little. Hugs xxxx

    • Thank you! Yes, definitely check out Beth’s blog, she really is pretty amazing!
I know you are right that stress will make the cold hang on much longer, which isn’t good. I am trying to not focus on the reasons for my stress, but it isn’t easy. Not having insurance with a chronic illness is terrifying!!! Things will get better at some point, it is just a matter of time! xxx

  2. It amazes me Alyssa how you can find so much hope and send so much encouragement when you’re going through so much yourself. I know life can be difficult but you don’t focus on that. I admire the love you have in your heart and how helping others is so important for you. Your selfless acts of kindness go a long way and I’m proud of the person you are. Great things are coming your way and so deserved. Hang in there. All my Love & Support, Mom💜💜

    • Thank you so much Mom for your kind words. I do feel like dwelling on anything I might be going through is a waste of my time and energy. I think if there is a way I can bring happiness and love to someone else, my days will always be much better!

  4. I have not been following you for too long, but I think you have mentioned Beth’s kindness before, either in your blog posts or maybe in a comment to me. The fact that fellow blogger Beth gives you hope, strength and encouragement as well as being kind is just the cherry on top of the sundae. 🙂

      • I thought I remembered you mentioning Beth before. Yes, I can imagine it is good to bounce thoughts, questions and feelings off others who understand. This a great forum for meeting warm and caring people. The internet in general and the snarky comments I see on social media sites, especially the news sites, leave me reeling sometimes. This is because people hide behind a profile and often don’t use their own name and think they can say anything they want to.

      • This really is a wonderful site that offers pleasant communication. I do feel that most other social media sites only provide negativity and drama. I do not like the snarky comments that I have read and really stay away from Facebook and Twitter.

      • I’ll tell you Alyssa that I feel that way many days, most days to be honest. I prefer their company to be honest. Maybe it is because it is just me and I’m not used to people being around me, but the things people do and say astound me more every day.

      • My two cats are amazing and loving! They never mistreat or do mean things, which is way more than I can say about humans. I agree with you, the things people do and say always shock me. I think it is because I do not have a mean bone in my body!

      • I love the trust that animals show you – the way your pet cats are loving – they know you take good care of them and lavish attention on them so they respond in kind. I meant to comment on what you said about having to delete some responses. People don’t use their head or are thoughtless many times – it is very sad.

      • My two cats are simply amazing and SO loving. Our oldest cat seems to know when I am hurting and where I hurt, then she lays on whatever hurts. Every time I have a terrible headache, she lays on my head. She is something else! Our younger cat is hilarious and the way they interact with each other is amazing! People definitely do not use their heads and say some horrible things online. I just consider them internet bullies and there is NO use commenting back, I just delete mean comments!

      • Good for you Alyssa – delete hating comments or insensitive comments. I was bullied relentlessly when we moved here from Canada. I was ten years old. I had a Canadian accent, even the teacher ridiculed me. It went on for several years, I became withdrawn – got beaten up as well. Now people spew their hate over the internet, hiding behind a fake name or picture … and kids are still as hurtful to their peers. We have had many suicides of young teens because their schoolmates had more “Facebook friends” and they thought something was wrong with them. Very sad.

      • I have no time for hatred in my life! My goodness, you moved here from Canada? I use to live in Vermont and one of my husband’s friends teased me saying VT is a suburb of Canada. My husband has wanted to move there for years and even more so now. Cana

      • I accidentally sent that last message before I finished. Canada’s main benefit is, it’s a Trump free zone! I hope that didn’t offend you. It just makes me so sad what he has done to our country. I’m so sorry for what you went through. You didn’t deserve any of that. People love hurting others and I think it is due to their own insecurities and it’s within them. It is not right and needs to stop!

      • Hi Alyssa – oh you didn’t offend me in the least and I’m happy to see Senator Bernie Sanders announced his candidacy for President this morning. A lot of people said they would move to Canada if he won the election. My father was transferred from Ford Motor Company in Oakville to Ford in Woodhaven, Michigan and we moved here in 1966. I am still a Canadian citizen and get my green card renewed every 10 years. I hated the bullying and didn’t tell my parents and they never beat me up on my face so I could hide it. I had two teachers bully me verbally and the second one would paddle me in the hall – she made accusations saying I made crude phonecalls to her home and took me to the principal’s office and then I called my mother … she did not drive and called my father at work. He came and made a big scene (exactly why I didn’t want to say anything). The teacher was put on a leave of absence, although she was pregnant at the time, so likely would have taken some time off anyway. It was 7th grade and I had that teacher for homeroom, study hall, history and english … four hours out of my day!

      • It is crazy how many people are saying if Bernie wins in 2020 they will move to Canada. I say if God forbid Trump wins again, my husband and I will move to Canada! I have heard great things about Canada, that the people are nicer that they are in the states. It is very upsetting that not only the kids, but the teachers bullied you. I hope the teachers that were so ugly to you ended up losing their job at some point. You just can’t mistreat people, especially children like that.

      • Oh wow – I hadn’t heard that about Bernie yet – are these friends from Vermont where he is Senator. His ideas are a little out there, but his reasoning was that we cannot have four more years of Trump. I don’t understand how Trump got in to begin with.
The night I heard the election results, I was stunned as he began to win more and more states. Canada has so many benefits – I know they are a little more expensive, but the quality of life is so much better. That has to count for something in my opinion – I am sure you will agree.

      • I still have no idea how Trump became the president or how his supporters still believe his lies, but apparently there are still way too many! Yes, Bernie said he is going to run in 2020 and he will have my support and vote! He seems like he actually cares, so unlike Trump. Canada seems to take care of the people which is great and the leader is MUCH better!

      • I agree with you about everything here Alyssa, except I can’t vote since I’m not a citizen. 🙂 I have to renew my green card before 2025 – I have a few years to go. Yes, the government is preferable and I don’t usually say that since I am an alien, but I say it to you because you would no mind to move there. I do know it is more expensive, but the healthcare is better … my grandmother had a heart condition for years, never paid a penny for her meds, her doctor’s appointments – nothing. I am on Obamacare and thank goodness for it because before Obamacare, I payed a small fortune for healthcare just for myself and that did not include optical or dental – I still don’t have optical or dental, but I have more comprehensive health care through Obamacare than I had before. I only to an allergist for the allergies I’ve had for decades – my shots, serum and appointments are all paid for.

      • I hate saying this, not because I think you will agree with me and not be offended, the US has horrible healthcare and an even worse government. Everything that is going on now in the government is beyond corrupt. We do pay way too much for healthcare and yet still pay more for appointments, prescriptions, etc. Do you miss Canada? What part of the states do you live in?

      • I don’t like the way the government is and I rarely comment as I am an alien, but I have lived here since 1966 so I’ve seen alot. You would not believe what I had to go through to get my green card. I live in Southeast Michigan, in Lincoln Park, which is about 12 miles from Detroit and the International Crossing of the Detroit/Windsor border (bridge or tunnel). A river separates these two countries, yet because I have no fingerprints since I’ve had a job where I have typed most of my working life, I have no fingerprints, or what fingerprints I have are worn down. This happens to people that play the piano too. So my fingerprints don’t photograph well electronically, and I had to go back for inkprints and still that did not satisfy the Department of Homeland Security and I had to go to the police station to get certified that I had lived here 10 years and not been in trouble. I’ve lived in the same house since 1966 and not been in trouble. I have no words for that. I have no relatives at all Alyssa, here or in Canada. But I do miss Canada – my father wanted to come here to make more money with Ford of Woodhaven, Michigan, so he transferred here from Ford of Oakville, Ontario, Canada. So we moved to Michigan. Did you tell me where you lived – I’m not sure?

      • It is sad how this country acts towards to people. I would think the people of the country would matter, but then I have a big heart and the politicians don’t have one at all. I hate you had to go through so much with becoming a citizen. I wonder how difficult it would be to become a citizen in Canada. Is Michigan a pretty? I haven’t ever been there. I don’t think I have mentioned where I live, but I live in the center of South Carolina. My husband and I relocated from North Carolina about 4 months ago.

      • Yes it is sad Alyssa. Michigan is known as the Great Lakes State and it is very beautiful in alot of places of up in the northern part of the state – many waterways and a lot of people have cottages up there. Some people have them winterized for all-year-around use as they like their Winter sports here. Perhaps if I liked Winter sports, I’d like Winter better, but I don’t ski, snowmobile and stay away from snow and ice as much as possible … hate driving in it. I have a friend who has lived in Cary, North Carolina since moving from Michigan about thirty years ago and a fellow blogger lives in the mountains in North Carolina now. It looks very pretty there. I also have a friend who comes from Charleston, SC but lives in Virginia now. I have always thought the people in the South are much friendlier than Northerners. About 25 years ago, my mom and I took a little trip to Tennessee, North Carolina, and Kentucky – the people were so nice and I told my mom we should move there but she was reluctant to move as our house was paid for, small and did not want to incur new moving/living expenses. I worked at a diner while attending college and all the workers except me and one other waitress were from the Deep South – mostly Alabama, Arkansas, but also Tennessee, South Carolina – the nicest people I have ever met.

I want to go on there more … I was late getting here and finished my post late tonight. I am not a night owl … until blogging that is. Take a trip over here when you get a chance Alyssa … as an animal lover, you will like it too: https://littlesundog.wordpress.com/

      • You’re welcome Alyssa – I read a few posts, but want to go back and read more. I knew you’d like her and I liked what I read so far. I had a late start getting here tonight – was on the phone for a long time with our computer guy at work and by the time I got done, a huge chunk of my afternoon was gone – poof!

      • I am so glad you were able to read a few of Beth’s posts. She is a remarkable woman with a heart of gold. She is one of the most humble people I have ever known! Dealing with the computer people can be exhausting! Luckily, I married a man that is brilliant with computer stuff so I never have to worry too much!!

      • That is good that you have met Beth – it is good we have these internet connections. One of my good friends is someone I never met, but I know her from when I worked on site and our bosses were both labor law attorneys. We have kept in touch by e-mail, and occasionally by phone though my boss and I left that Firm and she left her Firm. We’re the same age so we have alot in common, though she is now out of the legal secretarial field and working on her Masters Degree in gerontology administration. You are lucky you married a man skilled in computer stuff as technology repair/maintenance can be costly if you need to consult with a repair shop like Geek Squad at Best Buy that I have used in the past.

      • It definitely was a blessing to have met Beth ♡! Having someone who understands the struggles I face is helpful. Many of my blogger friends havd MS and we are all different and yet the same, if that makes any sense! I am glad you have stayed in touch with your friend. It is easy to chat with people we have a lot in common with. I have no patients for technology, so my husband comes in handy and has saved my laptop and tablet many times:)

      • It sounds like it is a special relationship. I used to chat here with Jennifer (Ms. Lucky Duck) but she has so many things going on right now, she’s not here as often. I only learned as much as I know about technology after my boss and I left the law firm and went out on our own, so I learned to troubleshoot problems with the computer guys so that they did not have to make a visit to the office, so I was able to do things over the phone, plus having to make sure there are no issues with my computer here at the house. As to smartphones – I don’t own one, and, even though I text from my computer to my boss and to my friend Evelyn, I don’t know how to text on a phone. I only keep the cellphone for emergencies since I have a landline here at the house which I use a lot for work.

      • Computers seem to have a mind of their own and will act out like a toddler! It has been said that smartphones are causing cancer, so it is much better to use a landline. I do my best to avoid talking on the phone, but only do when I have no other choice.

        Liked by 1 person

      • They sure do Alyssa. I have heard that about smartphones too – I just have a flip phone for emergencies and that’s it. I use my phone for work when my boss calls and it has a speaker phone which is good if he does some dictation or wants to give me information, I don’t have to crunch my neck and drop the receiver to type at the same time.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yes it works well as I can keep both hands free and saves him making a trip to the house with a dictation tape. Most everything he writes out by hand and scans in as a PDF and I work that way.

She has real and true character! I am doing the best I can to take care of myself and I am still healing from the job situation. Being without insurance is upsetting, but I am looking with hopes I will find something soon! I hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself as well!
