Motivational Monday!

9005d8e11ab7db0973f433e686603984Good morning y’all! I hope you had a lovely weekend and you are ready for the new week to begin. Even though my annoying cough is still lingering around, I did manage to spend my three-day weekend resting as much as possible. I just hope the cough will continue to improve!!

Today is Martin Luther King Jr Day, so the quote I am sharing means even more to me. Last year I shared a post about this powerful man and why I found him so admirable. I admire how he stood up for what he believed in and how his determination wasn’t to be questioned. I hope you can take a moment today and try to remember how much MLK Jr lost over the years, but also how nothing was going to stop him. martin-luther-king-jr.-onyx-truth-2

Y’all already know this about me, but I feel that everyone should be treated equally and never mistreated because of the color of their skin, religious beliefs, ethnicity, race, who they love, etc. I know I have said this before, but we are all human beings with a beating heart and have feelings that can be hurt.

Thank you for stopping by my site today and I am looking forward to reading your comments. I promise to respond to your thoughts just as quickly as I can. I hope y’all have a great day and you are feeling the best you can. Please remember that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love ❤, comfort and many positive vibes!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

  1. I am certainly going to need motivation this morning. It’s 24 degrees outside and I am fighting about going to the gym. Started the day off with low blood sugar which left me drained. What can motivate me to get going? That I’m alive and doing better than some people. May your day be merry and bright.

  2. I’m sorry you’re still struggling with the cough, they can really linger for quite some time & make you feel pretty rough on top of everything else.
I hadn’t realised it was MLK day today, thank you for this. An incredible man. Who knows what the world would have been like without him, his passion and perseverance. There’s still a way to go because such ignorance and hate when it comes to racism and prejudice are so pervasive, but compassion will win over that every time. Great post, Alys. I’m glad you managed to rest over the weekend, but I do hope the cough leaves you alone soon! xx

    • Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I really wish this nasty cold/cough would leave me alone because it has been here way too long!
Yes, MLK was an incredible man and he deserves to be remembered. I really wish people would try to act in a way he fought for, but unfortunately I don’t think many do. I hope your week started off well and again, thank you for your amazing comment!xx

    • Thank you so much Beckie! I am glad you loved this quote. It really makes me sad how divided our country is in 2019, when MLK fought so hard against this.
I think the cough is trying to break-up, but it hasn’t completely yet. It is so frustrating and just plain annoying! I hope your week started off well!xx

  3. Another great post, Alyssa! He was such a great example of love and peace, but knew when to be radical when he needed to be.

Thank you for posting this, it’s a great reminder to always strive for love and empathy. ❤️ I hope you have a wonderful week and that your cough gets better soon!

    • Thank you so much Hillary and I am glad you liked this. I do feel that MLK was an amazing man with high goals. He fought so hard against all the hatred in this country and unfortunately in 2019 it seems to be growing. I hate to say this but I do think many are devolving instead of evolving. I can’t imagine what MLK would say if he were here.

Everyone needs to do their best to strive for love, kindness and empathy. I hope you have a great week as well sweetie!
