Hurricane Weather!

florenceGood morning y’all! I hope your weekend has started off pleasant! I am sure you have probably already heard about Florence pounding the southeast coast of the United States! This storm has already been extremely tragic for those living on the coast of North & South Carolina, but Florence hasn’t come to an end yet!

With strong hurricane winds and heavy rain moving inland, thousands are already without power! Thankfully, as of right now my husband and I do still have power, but we are not out of the woods yet. The powerful winds and downpours of rain is still being tracked! We are still anticipating this storm to continue its destruction through Monday!

Sadly, this storm has already claimed the lives of 7 people and could still kill many others during it’s path. Florence has also left millions in the _103419002_mediaitem103418994dark and in fear of what could happen next.  This hurricane was and is still so incredibly powerful and dangerous!

With the heavy rain that is in our near future, flooding is a strong possibility and road conditions could become impassable. I think for safety reasons, it’s best to stay home where it is safe! There is nothing that needs to be done outside the home, that can’t wait until conditions improve!

With all the rain we are experiencing, my pain levels have literally gone through the roof! It seems as though NOTHING is easing my pain, but this could be worse. My thoughts are with those that did not heed the warnings of mandatory evacuations and for those that have lost so much because of this hurricane.

I hope y’all are doing well today and if you are near the southeast coast of the United States, you have moved to where you will be the safest! Flood waters will continue to rise, so please stay safe! Thank y’all for visiting my site today and I do appreciate your comments. I do promise to respond as quickly as I possibly can. Please remember that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love❤and comfort!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

  1. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your hubby. Please be safe, and try to relax.
I can only imagine the pain you must be in with this weather system being so powerful. Up north here in NJ it’s been cloudy, humid, and I’m feeling a lot of pain in my knees and back.
Please be safe, Dear. 🙂 XO!

    • Thank you Beckie! We are prepared to just stay home and NOT get on the roads! Heck, we are taking this time to pack and prepare for the move in the next 2 weeks! My pain is horrible right now and NOTHING is helping! The humidity does cause pain to be much worse, but I hope your pain eases up SOON!!

      • I am so sorry you dealt with a migraine. I have read that high humidity can cause migraines for those that get them. I hope you start feeling better soon!! I am okay. I have been trying to ignore the pain by staying busy packing!!

      • I am so sorry you still have a migraine. I hope you get some rest and feel much better. Try staying away from computer screens because it makes migraines SO much worse!
Where we are moving to just had rain, so I think it will be fine. I can’t wait to get this move over with. Moving is SO stressful!!!

      • Honestly, I don’t think it’s a migraine… I think it’s my allergies are very bad. The weather has been cooler in the evenings and I’ve had my windows down. I think it because we have had so much rain, the mold spores are kicking in. I’m very allergic to mold.
Thank goodness you are moving to a spot where it has only rained. To watch the weather channel is so stressful. I keep thiking of you and one other blogger I know that lives there. I too, hate packing and moving. My anxiety ramps up big time when I’m moving. Hopefully the next couple of weeks will move quickly for you. 🙂

      • Headaches/ Migraines and allergies are horrible and seriously the only thing that can keep me down! I am also terribly allergic to mold!!
There is another blogger that lives down here? Is this anyone I might know? I am very anxious about packing, but I am working on it a little at a time. I have most of the kitchen packed and ready to go. I just packed the breakables in the living room earlier. My last day with my current job is Friday and I start my new job the following Friday. My goal is to have the majority of the house moved NO later than September 25th! That will give me a few days to get a lot unpacked and prepare for the new job!

      • I’ve been avoiding blogging & reading because of these headaches. Sorry for the lat3 response.
The other blogger goes by “Stephanie” that’s all I know. The last heard she was very scared, and her and her boyfriend/hubby went up to Virginia to evacuate.
25th is only a week away! Great goal, but remember to take breaks in between so you don’t kill yourself. I’m so excited for you!!! 🙂

      • You definitely should avoid computer and phone screens while dealing with headaches because they will make it much worse!!! I might have to check out Stephanie, we will see. Please take care of yourself first because you are the most important! I know the 25th is only one short week away and it is painfully stressful for me!!!!!

      • LOL! I have been avoiding the computer for the last five days (I think its been). Today is the first day that the headache only lasted two hours, but I didn’t take a chance by blogging and reading.
You will get all your packing done soon enough. Just remember to pace yourself and take breaks when you need them.
I’m so excited for you, new home and new job. A whole new venture! Yay! 🙂

  3. Oh my goodness Alyssa. I did not know that you live in the path of Florence. How awful. I am so sorry you are having to go through this too, and that your pain is through the roif. I will be thinking about you and watching for posts, and praying for you. Lots and lots of love xx

    • Thank you Alyssa! I am starting to think they are blowing this hurricane out of proportion for where I live. I mean it has been windy, but I honestly haven’t seen as much rain as they said we would get. It has been on and off today, hopefully that doesn’t mean we are going to get hit hard tomorrow. I do hope the pain lessens soon, but we will see!!

  4. It’s scary how powerful and destructive mother nature can be. I’m not sure how close to the storm path you are, but please stay safe. I do hope you get some relief from the pain, and that you can get some rest despite all of the turmoil right now. Sending hugs xxxx

    • Thank you! The storm rain and wind is right on top of us now, but hopefully it won’t be too bad. The rain and wind has picked up since yesterday, I just hope it calms down sooner than later. It is mind blowing how rain causes this much pain!

    • Thank you so much! So far we have only had two brown outs, where the power goes out for a few seconds and comes back. Hopefully there will not be any complete power outages!
I have been keeping busy around the house so I don’t focus on the pain. My husband and I will be moving in the next two weeks, so I am packing up our townhouse!!! Depending on how I feel and the weather I might not be going to work tomorrow. I mean if I don’t go what are they going to do, fire me when my last day is Friday!!!

      • Yes hopefully. Oh WOW! Moving houses is full on! It will be a very stressful time so take care of yourself. How far are you guys moving from your old house? I am not at work today but I am still sick.
Good luck with the move! 🙂 And with the new job.

      • I am pretty excited about the move, but also SO stressed! One thing at a time is what I keep telling myself. We are moving 2 hours from where we live now. We had purchased my husband’s grandparent’s family home, so it is an honor!
I am SO sorry you still do not feel well. I hope not being at work you are getting LOTS of rest!!

  6. Good morning and Happy Sunday cara Alyssa. I am so glad to hear that you are going through the monster storm almost unscathed. You still have electrical power at home. which makes a lot of difference. Remember how we suffered, my son and I, when Hurricane Irma shut down the service for days in Downtown Miami? Well, it could be THAT worse for you and husband; you need the air-conditioning in all your home.
    Un baccione. Arrivederci!

    • Thank you kindly. I do remember how awful Hurricane Irma was. Unfortunately, those at the coast were really impacted. Many did not listen to the evacuation order and as of now 13 lost their lives. It is just very windy and rainy right now. LOTS of flooding, but hopefully it will not get worse than that!!
