I think in the world today, it can be very easy to give up hope. There does seem to be so much negativity and hatred surfacing daily, but not allowing these thoughts into our lives is possible! As long as we keep only those around us who offer happiness and nothing but optimism, we all could spread those emotions instead of negativity. If enough believe in love
and hope, we could out power the hate.
It could be easy for me or anyone else that lives with a chronic illness to want to give up any hope for a cure. Living with any illness that causes daily pain is without a doubt frustrating, especially when it seems to be never-ending. Being required to take numerous medications several times a day to slow any progression down, is not any fun! Making decisions of what the right medications are is like playing a game of Russian Roulette, you never know what the outcome is going to be. All of this takes determination to beat the odds and hopefully win the game of life!
Making decisions on what the right medications will be for yourself is extremely difficult. This takes having a lot of confidence in your choices. It also takes doing a lot of research on the medications to choose from. Since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 18 years ago, I have been on numerous different types of medications that are meant to slow the progression down. The first several were not right for me and I was able to move onto something different. The great thing is, none of the medications need to be permanent if they do not work well with your body chemistry, you are able to keep moving on with something else. This process was frustrating for me, but I never gave up hope that something would work well for me. Thankfully, I had a very understanding and tolerant doctor during this time which helped me make the best decisions!
I want to share a blog post from a fabulous fellow blogger with y’all. Jenny at https://trippingthroughtreacle.com has lived with Multiple Sclerosis for many years and still keeps up her fight! I always find everything Jenny shares to be beyond amazing and she continues to give me hope for better times. I want to share with you her recent post because it was so brilliant and very informative https://trippingthroughtreacle.com/2018/09/07/multiple-sclerosis-and-its-symptoms/#comment-1981. This post alone will make you want to read even more of
Jenny’s posts!
As difficult as life gets, we all have the choice to hold onto HOPE! If we continue believing, HOPE will never die! We have a choice to challenge the potential for continuing to better ourselves and even all around us.
Thank y’all for visiting my site this morning. I always appreciate your support and love to read your comments! I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday and you are feeling well! Please never forget that I am always sending y’all LOTS of love and comfort!
Always, Alyssa

The poem below was written in a different context, but I can see it has many applications and meanings. I hope you see it that way, my dear Alyssa.
HOPE
© 2016 Barbara Grace Lake
When all hope dies
Can ever threads remain
Of former ties
To call it back again
Does hope join dreams
Mid broken solemn vows
As uttered means
Enthralling men to bow
But threads there be
So hope is still aware
Within a sea
Of monstrous self despair
We are alive
Our souls unfettered bare
And hope survives
If mantle we would wear

This may seem random, but when you talk about all the hatred in the world today, I always remember this song by Anne Murray, A little good news today. It may be the first song I ever learned all the words to, other than the ABC’s ( yes it is that old) If you have a chance give it a listen and let me know what you think?

Oh my goodness Grace, I am SO mad at you now!! This was such a beautiful song and you made me cry. WOW though, so true and we really could use a little good news today!!! I wish we could turn on the news and have either good news or them say there isn’t anything to write about! I wish like hell this would happen! I was just kidding about being mad at you. Thank you so much for sharing such an incredible song Grace!!

Another fantastic post and you’re so right, with MS and other conditions where medications and treatments are involved because all too often it’s a case of trial and error and it can become to frustrating and disheartening. Jenny is a great blogger, too! Never give up hope – a wonderful reminder 🌷

Hope and prayer is what’s get most of us through the toughest times in our lives. That is one (4) letter word I love. HOPE 💗

Hope really is a powerful thing and we must all try to hold onto it. Think about it, without hope what do we really have?

Exactly! This is why we will never lose hope and if you ever do, you have your cheerleader to push you forward!!

Love the second quote with the picture of the fresh tree with the green leaves. Trees are a symbol of hope and new life. I wish everyone could be more hopeful and positive like you. I often feel like giving up HOPE but that is because one person alone can’t do everything and fight for more research for a cure and there is so much of negativity is is difficult to find Hope.

I am glad you liked the second quote!! Sometimes it does seem easier to give up hope, but without hope what do we really have? As hard as things might get, try to not lose the hope that is there in front of you!

Such a nice little reminder too that there is HOPE out there. Now I really want to sit back and create a Hope themed colour in to share with you all when I’m feeling up to it.

Don’t rush yourself to create things until you feel up to it. When you feel pressure or rushed things tend to not come out the best they can. I look forward to seeing what you create though!

Thank you for your words. I use the concept of BEING HOPE; BEING LOVE. It is hard to have fear or feel rejection when you are BEING Love and Hope. Life is such a journey….words help make it a bold and beautiful journey. ❤️
