If you have not already had the opportunity to visit Ana’s site, I strongly encourage you to do so as I am more than certain you will enjoy reading her posts! I think once you read a few of Ana’s fantastic posts you will even find encouragement from how she handles her struggles in life. Thank you SO much Ana❤ for nominating me for this award!

🌸This is my brief story of how and why Is started my blog!🌸

I started my blog in July 2017 for several reasons, but the main reason was to be able to raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. I have been fighting this illness since I was only 19 years old and I am about to turn 37. It has been a difficult 18 year journey for me because even though I have come across many people now that also battle this illness, back then I only knew one person and her illness had progressed greatly. When I was first diagnosed, I did not want to share or even admit the news to anyone because I felt way too much shame. Being older and wiser now, I do not have any shame about my illness and now I This-is-my-story-logo-1024x878am open to talk about it. I want to have a chance to encourage others that are battling a chronic illness or illnesses because I know just how easy it can be to become depressed, discouraged, frustrated and want to throw in the towel. My goal is to help others realize that just because we have a chronic illness, that illness does not define who we are and it certainly does not mean there is no hope for the future!

Another reason why I started my blog is because I have a very strong passion for writing. I have wanted to write a book or even articles for a publishing company since I was a younger. In my mind I thought that if I started a blog I would be able to build my strengths and knowledge with writing skills and become a much better writer.

My blog has given me the opportunity to build my writing skills and help others that have fallen on hard times; both of these mean so much to me.  I feel that there is way too much negativity in the world today and I am determined to spread as much positivity as I can. Maybe one voice can bring some happiness to another and then there can be a chain reaction!

🌻The two pieces of advice I would give any new blogger is:🌻My Advice for New Bloggers

While I have only been blogging for a little over a year now, I feel that I have learned so much from fellow bloggers that have helped me along the way!

  1. One very important piece of advice I have for any new blogger is, build a connection with other bloggers by reading other bloggers posts and make comments. Making comments helps build a solid relationship that in time will become incredibly valuable. I have also found how helpful it is to follow fellow bloggers that share you share a common interest in.
  2. The second piece of advice I would give is when doing your own posts utilize pictures, people enjoy pictures! Writing a post that isn’t too long and shows pictures draws others in. I feel that not many people want to read a book with posts, but at the same time details are important if that makes any sense!

My NomineesMy Nominees are:

I know the rules state to nominate 15 fellow bloggers, but I am going to break that rule slightly okay completely! 1. Good morning and congratulations on this nomination, Cara Alyssa; you certainly deserve it. And I also would like to thank you for the possibility of entering the contest for all your loyal followers (like moi) I might not always comment you entries but I certainly take a peek at them every week as you always have a kind and stimulating wording for all those who suffer from a chronic disease. Unfortunately I have to decline your generous offer as I am busy writing my second book in earnest, which you will certainly like as you did almost all the postings of my “Emotional Frustration” series. Un grosso baccione. Arrivederci!

  2. Congratulations you deserve it. I agree 100% about the second part of advice you gave for bloggers, Pictures make the post, and yes I don’t read long posts, that is the reason I write poetry, It’s amazing what you can say in a short poem. Have a nice short working week my friend.

  3. Congratulations on the award nomination Alyssa! I like the quote.
Our illnesses definitely do NOT define who we are and I have said this to people several times which is why my blog is not all about my conditions and living with chronic illness. Never allow anyone to define you by your condition. I often feel depressed and want to give up so it’s good to know someone else feels that way too.
You wanted to spread as much positivity and you have indeed. You definitely have. I love reading your blogs, especially your Motivational Mondays and Pick Me Up Thursdays because you don’t always talk about your illness and post up photos of yourself in hospital and that’s what I like about it because I see a human through your blog with a kind heart.

    • Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed the quote.
I like to get off topic of just illnesses and bring more into my blogs. I am so glad you like Motivational Monday and Pick-Me-Up Thursday. I think quotes have so much meaning and I love sharing them!!
