Out Sick!

out sick todayGood morning y’all. I am so sorry I have not been able to respond to all of your great comments from yesterday and today. I started having a terrible migraine on Sunday afternoon, but thought it had eased up enough to go to work yesterday. I was very wrong about my migraine being better because while I did work yesterday, I started feeling the pain ease back in. Even one of my co-workers looked at me and said “Alyssa, you look terrible!” I did manage to work for six hours, but when I came home did not leave the bed. The massive migraine brought all of my pain to the extreme! Unfortunately, I am home from work today to try to get better. I will do my best to start responding to your comments, but please be patient with me I am still feeling pretty darn horrible!!

I certainly hope you are having a good day and I hope you are feeling okay. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my site and leave me great comments. Even though I am feeling pretty bad I am still sending y’all LOTS of love❤ and comfort!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

    • Thank you so much Lorraine. I am doing my best to get better sooner than later. I think the nasty migraine triggered all the pain to be worse. Finally the migraine has turned to a mild headache and I hope it stays that way. Feeling the way I did yesterday I was not even able to eat anything!! I appreciate your kind comment Lorraine!!!

      • So sorry Alyssa. I was wondering if pushing yoyrsekf at work last week had anything to do with it. Antway, so glad it is only a mild headache now. It sounds as if it was awful xx

      • You are probably right! Pushing myself at work last could be what has caused me to feel so horrible. I also think it might have something to do with the weather. I could feel the storm coming on before it was even here. We are supposed to have rain until tomorrow evening, but hopefully it will not cause issue with me the entire time.

    • Thank you Terri! I have been spending today trying to catch up on all the comments and posts I missed, but take breaks in between. I am only looking at my blog when I feel rested enough. I really think this nasty rainy weather is playing part in how I feel. I swear I could feel the storm brewing yesterday and still feel it coming on.

      • Oh, I understand exactly what you’re talking about with the weather affecting your migraines. I have the same issue – my head always lets me know when the pressure systems are changing even before the bad weather makes it to us. Take care of yourself!

    • Thank you sweetie! I am really trying to rest and get well. I honestly think the nasty rain is playing HUGE part in how I am feeling. I could feel it brewing on Sunday and still feel it coming on in my bones. I will do my best to continue to stay strong!

    • Thank you so much! I have been doing my best to rest up so I can feel better. Getting well just to go back to work tomorrow, sounds like a great plan doesn’t it!? I really do think it is the rain causing these issues to be more intense. I could literally feel the storms coming.

  2. Eugh migraines are bloody awful. I’m grateful today to have taken Sumatriptan early enough to take out the worst of it, couldn’t face day 3 of migraines after having them last week too. Do you have something like that to take? I know resting and ‘taking it easy’ isn’t actually easy (if you’re like me feeling exhausted but restless, like I ‘should’ be doing things etc) but I do hope you can – blogging, comments, etc can all wait, as can a lot of other life fluff for a while, you need to be gentle with your brain so you can kick it and hopefully have it not return.. Fingers crossed! Sending gentle hugs and hope for a migraine-free day tomorrow and rest of the week too! xx

    • Thank you so much! I am pretty sure the nasty weather is the cause for the migraine and pain. I could literally feel the storms brewing and they still are! All I take for migraines is Excedrin, but it causes me to shake so I can not take it all day. An ice pack on my head helps some as well. I do hope tomorrow will be migraine free because they are horrible!! I really appreciate your kind thoughts and hugs of course!

    • Thank you! I have been doing my best to rest all day! Jon is going to get dinner tonight, but I have to pick. He wants me to have what I think I can keep down considering that was out of question last night. The smell of food last night made me sick! Thank you for your comment! ♡♡

    • Thank you! I did have an entire day of healing and I am feeling better! The rain storms are still brewing and the weather I am sure is what caused me to feel this way. I appreciate your comment and hope to stay feeling normal!

    • Thank you so much! I am feeling better than I was yesterday. I even went to work and almost lasted the 6 hours I planned, but the migraine was trying to come back. I thought it was best to beat the migraine at it’s own game and leave work after 5 hours and 45 minutes!

  5. I am so sorry you’re feeling yucky. The only thing that helps me with a migraine is a cool dark room, ibuprofen, cool cloth’s behind my neck and on my forehead, and a bit of peppermint at my temples. I’m not sure if the peppermint actually works but the smell is very calming for me. 😉
I hope you find some relief very soon.

    • Absolutely that helps with a migraine!! I have to lay down with ice packs on my head and back of my neck for a while! I was actually really surprised how much peppermint on the temples helps. A girl I used to work with had this product and she would let me use hers until I finally got my own. It is wonderful!!!!
Thank you so much! I am feeling much better than yesterday! The migraine has eased to a simple and normal headache, I can deal with that!!

    • Migraines have been a part of my life since I was a little girl and are really terrible! I know the ones I have been having lately are solely due to stress and pushing myself too much. I am planning to try to take it easy this weekend and might even be giving up going to see a concert. It is the band my husband proposed on stage with and it is breaking my heart that we might miss it, but they will be around again, I HOPE!!!

      • It is a very nice song with LOTS of emotion! Even though I was so tired and in pain, we did end up going to the concert! I am actually glad we did because we were able to chat with the band and I was finally able to meet the wife I have chatted with a lot on Facebook! It is always nice to put a face with the name! A few of the band members have left, but the guys that were there still remember us, even the newer guys know the story and remember us. It was a nice time, but I am dealing with the pain more now! I believe we must all live our lives to the fullest and enjoy life while we are still here!

      • It’s those kinds of memories that are so touching to the heart, they never fade away. When I and my husband were married, we were friends with a local radio station out on Long Island, NY. We got free tickets to concerts all Summer long at Jones Beach. Naturally, we would go to we the bands or performer we wanted too. It was one of our favorite things to do together. I truly miss those days, but the memories linger on, thank goodness. 🙂

      • Nah, a year or so after my divorce, I moved back to NJ, where I grew up. That was back in 2004. I remember the day I was leaving to move back to NJ and crying hysterically because I was leaving a job I so loved deeply with all my friends, plus knowing I would never see him again really hurt like hell. Then it was a year and 2 months later after I moved is when he had gotten killed on his job site. I have never gone back to NY since his funeral.
Whoa… got off track there for a moment. Maybe, it’s because lately, I’ve been dreaming about him so much again. That and drinking again… which quite frankly scares the heck out of me. That part I can truly understand because of my sobriety date coming up, but it’s still rather disturbing to dream about me drinking again.

      • Please never worry about getting off track, I do all of the time! I am sorry to hear about the divorce. I understand how difficult it can be even if you are ready to break free from the ex. Do you stay in contact with your old friends? My goodness I am so sorry to hear your ex was killed on his job site. Truthfully, I do not blame you for not going back there after his funeral. I refuse to EVER go back to MA after my grandfather’s funeral. His funeral broke my heart and shattered me for a while.
Sweetie, I know drinking eases the pain for a short time, but it really isn’t healthy, so please stay with your sobriety! Dreams can shake us to the core, but they are not in our reality. Dreams can be good and bad, but the bad dreams are there to remind you of how far you have come!!!

      • I use to keep in contact with friends from NY, but it became too painful because the conversation would always gear towards the memories of my ex & I. We had still loved each other deeply, just couldn’t live together anymore.
I would never drink again, EVER! I don’t know how I ever survived it when I did. God had bigger plans for me, and I keep on keeping on.
I never mind the dreams that I have about my ex because they are normally such fond memories and sometimes I think he guides me in my life at times and looks over me. At least that’s the way I feel about it. 🙂

      • I think not staying in contact with the friends from NY is probably much healthier for you. Being reminded of bad memories is only self destructive and you are making the best choice!
I am glad to hear you wouldn’t drink again. I do think all it does is mask the pain, but never eliminates them. That is a great way to think, God does have much bigger plans for you!!
That is good you are dreaming of fond memories. I believe that our loved ones that have past are still with us and help us through painful times!
