Running on EMPTY!

Well spent SundayGood afternoon y’all! I hope you are having a pleasant and relaxing Sunday! My poor mind has been going in so many different directions this weekend! I think I might have hit the wall today because I could not sleep AT ALL last night! I have so many random thoughts running through my mind and this is to the extend I can not just focus on just one.

I have been stressed to the MAX about various things my car being one of them. That poor car has been having issues for the past two weeks and even after placing a special order for the part needed, it is still not satisfied! My husband put the part needed in last night which did fix the problem. We were able to drive my car around our neighborhood a few times, but now a completely unrelated issue has appeared, the car will not switch gears! I mean what in the world could be wrong now? I am unsuccessfully trying to be optimistic that we will figure out what the issue is now and be able to fix it without spending too much money! The reason I am failing with this is because that car seems to have a never-ending bad attitude!dont-give-up-galaxy-hold-on-hope-Favim.com-1428490

My constant pain that will not let up is also causing me to be more than just stressed. Like I do not know what is beyond stressed, but that is how I feel! This pain has been going on for way too long and I really feel I have been patient enough, but I NEED a break! The constant headaches cause me to not be able to focus on what I need to be focused on. The incessant leg and back pain is so becoming SO  FRUSTRATING!! When nothing relieves that pain, what do you do??

Another thing that weighs heavy on my mind is the state of our country because of the government’s behavior.I normally do not bring politics into a conversation, but this is very disturbing to me.  I am not able to put myself in the mind-set of a politician, so I just do not understand why we all can not just get along. Watching the country I grew up in be destroyed at a very fast pace is stressmind-blowing and extremely sad! It is difficult seeing what the problems are and not being able to do anything to fix the issues!

I am pretty logical person, well most of the time at least, so I know that being overwhelmingly stressed is very unhealthy! I know staying stressed will not make anything better and it is only going to cause me more pain, but I can not seem to turn my mind off! I doubt the lack of sleep is helping me at all right now, but the pain I am in will not even allow me to even take a nap! So I decided writing about it may help ease my stressed out mind! I know this post has been a little all over the place, but this is a mild form of how much is on my mind!

I appreciate y’all visiting my site today and I strongly encourage you to leave a comment. I always love your comments and I will respond to you just as quickly as I can. I hope your day is going well and I hope the rest of your Sunday is wonderful. Please never forget that I am always sending you LOTS of ❤love and comfort!

My signature heart

❤Always, Alyssa❤

  1. If anyone can find their way out after hitting rock bottom I am quite certain it is you, dear friend. Writing my way out is what I call it when I find myself in those places (more often than not lately) and you did just that! Getting it out, looking at it afterwards – somehow gives one a better perspective. At the very least, it gets all the messy stuff out of your head and on to the paper (or the internet as the case may be) where it can have less of a hold on you. That’s my theory anyway. Hope you enjoy what’s left of your weekend!! Sending vibes for peace, quiet and pain relief your way! ❤️

    • Thank you so much! I think I needed to hear that today. I do not know why my poor mind is all over the place! It is so frustrating. I do tend to lean on writing when my brain gets out of control. I normally have things in better order, but considering my mind is out of order, I had to write all over the place. It definitely helps getting all the thoughts out, even if I didn’t get them all out! I really appreciate your very kind and supportive words. Isn’t it amazing how far our brain can take us?
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend as well! You are going back to work tomorrow, right? I appreciate your good vibes Beth!

      • I’m off for one more day tomorrow and heading back on Tuesday. I have a cat that I need to get to the vet at some point tomorrow so that is stressing me out a bit but I always give myself one extra day on the other side of “vacation” to help me ease back into the outside world. 😉

  2. Agree a good vent is good. But now you gotta turn into a positive. In each hardship there is benefit, some lesson to learn. And may be the lesson is ..go with the flow, trust it will work when it has too until say to your keeping my peace is better way of dealing with the difficulties. Becauses being stressed will add to your ill health and cause u more stress. Chill about the car it will get sorted. And until then though it is inconevient may be there a beautiful lesson waiting to be learnt

    • Thank you so much! You are very right, there is a benefit in everything we go through in life. I am only worried about the car because money is VERY tight right now and I can’t afford many more issues. I am honestly just frustrated with politics because it doesn’t seem right at all. It really makes me sad how much hatred there is in this world. I am all about love and positivity with NO room for hate and negativity. I really thank you for your comment. It mean so much to me!!

      • You need to hear the talk i shared on my blog as part of the self mastery session 3rd june.

        Money .. ahh.
Politics and hatred.. yes it is not a great world.. but again keep your peace and vibrate that peace in the world and make a difference that way.

      • I will listen to that now! Thank you!
I know there is not anything I can do about the politics and world issues, but it makes me so sad and angry at the same time! I believe everyone should be treated equally and with nothing but respect! I have never discriminated against anyone no matter race, color, religion, sexual preference, nothing! I can not help but be sad on how people are treated. I said it in my post that I try to not talk politics, but I feel strongly that the president is not doing anything good for anyone involved.

    • Thank you so much! It is crazy because I know me stressing myself out will not fix anything, all that stress is doing is making me hurt so much worse. 4. Oh Alyssa that’s tough – it’s so easy to get stuck in the stress-pain-insomnia-stress-pain cycle! What is it about MS that creates such fatigue and yet lack of ability to sleep??? And the mind wanders off to terrible places in the middle of the night, especially when things just hurt.
Turning the brain down is so important as it just uses up too much energy! When I was first diagnosed, I thought my Buddhist chanting would be enough to keep the white noise at bay, but I have discovered I need to do mindful meditation as well – one to vitalise, one to calm! There are some great free apps that help – Calm, Headspace, Insight Timer. Even 5 minutes can help the most jumpy of brains!
And as for the world – you create so much positivity with your blog and attitude that goes out to help others, know you are contributing to the good in the world. There’s much more good out there than we see, don’t get blinded by the b******t!!!!
Hope you have a better day today!

    • I never understood that either! MS causes SO much fatigue, but also seems to cause insomnia! It is crazy! I have noticed that my pain increases mid day, so by the evenings it is WAY worse and that makes sleeping very difficult. I get more spasms at night and that is just miserable!
Someone else recommended the Insight Timer to me a week or so ago and it is pretty great, but I still have a hard time falling sleep some nights.
Thank you so much for telling me that I am adding positive with my blog. That has been my goal and I am so happy it shows! I really do try to not be blinded by the b***hing, but it gets hard sometimes because it is everywhere! I hope you have a wonderful Monday and a great week!!!

  5. Even though I’m not a superstitious person, I always keep in mind the very logical and powerful Serenity Prayer: accept the things you cannot change and change the things you can. The current idiot-in-chief kept me up many nights in the beginning, because I can see the long game, the corruption, and the inevitable and terrible impact this president will have on the country, long after he’s gone (be that sooner or later).

But because I cannot change any of that, I will have to accept it.

What I can do is speak out, loudly, and never let anyone take that voice away. I can help to change minds, to change hearts, and I can speak the truth. I can give hope to those of like mind, the wise and compassionate among us. I can remind the downhearted that this is a bump in the road. A mistake, made by a yet young country. We can learn from this and grow and enact social and political policies that the rest of the world has already adopted with great success. We can yet be that shining beacon on the hill.

Our hubris caught up to us. By allowing corruption to endure unfettered in our highest halls, as long as it was for “our side” and as long as our paychecks were “enough,” we allowed the most corrupt man in America to sit in the highest seat in the land. Yup. We’re f****d.

But only for now. The Resistance is strong. A comeuppance is due. We will survive, endure, and thrive.

And, hell, if not, there isn’t anything you and I can do about it, anyway. Not really. So we might as well get some sleep and save our energy for the fight the next day. After all, ourselves we can change. 🙂

    Wonderful Monday post, Alyssa!

    • WOW this was a fantastic comment Tom and I do really appreciate it. I absolutely love the Serenity Prayer! It is so powerful and I have a copy of it up where I get ready in the morning and at my desk. I need reminders like this or I might go crazy, well crazier!
You are so right by saying there is not anything we can really do, so we should not allow it to cause us sleep issues. I was actually upset about him and that jackass in Virginia wanting to run for Congress. What is wrong with people??
I hope the corruption and evil acts will stop soon and allow for our country to smarten up and be a lot better. Everyone always use to say the US was the best country to live in, I do not think anyone can say that any more, do you?
You have an incredible amount of common sense, I just wish we could give some of that to other people in this world. I am so thankful that you are a wise person!!! I need to read more things like your comment because it makes me feel a little better about the world!
I am glad you liked my Monday Post!!

      • Was a great post! I agree with you, America is not a “great” place to live right now (unless you are a corrupt, ultra-rich, peddler of influence or one of their stooges), and perhaps never was for far too many. The good news? There’s only place to go if you’re rock bottom. Unless we want to give up on the American experiment altogether, though, the time to rally is now. The time to fight is now. In California, today is primary day. I voted. I voted my conscious on every line. I took the time to learn the people, learn the issues, think them through, and take the best stab at what I think would be best for the many. We have been taking from the many and giving to the few for far too long. Time to reverse that calculus.

Thanks again for your daily positivity, Alyssa. Keep up the good fight! ✊

      • Thank you for such a wonderful and insightful comment! You are very knowledgeable and pretty wise. You live in California? I have heard SO many great things about Cali!!!
I really do my best to remain positive. I refuse to let my MS or the corrupt politician get me down for too long!!!
